Ive been going there for my dog for awhile, but my last visit will be the final one. The vet at Austin Vet Care claimed that my dog needed a very expensive extraction done; and when I consulted our familys very well respected vet, he said that first, I was being ripped off, and second they way overstated the necessity of the procedure. Our family vet cleaned my dogs teeth, and said that while the tooth was broken, if it wasnt bothering her that it would be years, if ever, that it needed to come out. He was very honest about the entire situation and didnt want to put my dog through an unnecessary and painful procedure for basically nothing. I would hope that the vets here arent just trying to pad their bank accounts, but thats unfortunately what it seems like. I will be finding a new vet clinic as soon as possible.

Run as fast as you can. I paid $600.00 to find out my dog of 12 yrs has dry eyes { duhh } and no worms and crappy teeth. I dont know why I paid the money, I was just grateful she didnt have to be put to sleep. and the medicine they gave me for4 her eyes expired the same month so you know its been sitting there for awhile. Then I paid $60.0 more to find out her thyroid is ok. Just feel they took advantage of me because of my age {62} and I was grateful she wasnt dying. I would not recommend to anyone. They are very close to my house thats why I went there. One more thing I had to wait more then a hour to see Dr then they take dog somewhere and you go wait in another room. I am still kicking myself in the butt. Very unhappy customer. .

Overpaying for them to tell us to give our dog with surface grass allergies a bath every time he comes in the house. The last thing that they actually did was give us a over the counter allergy prescription (which they charged $40 per bottle) and when they ran out one day told us we could get it at Walmart as well. Much to our surprise Walmart charged less than $10 for twice the amount of medication. They also scold us for him being "obese" because he is a beagle basset hound mix but believe that he should be 30 pounds (most of his weight is clearly muscle mass in any case). Really fed up with this place doing nothing for our animals.

Dr. Brandes is the best doctor out there. I have taken my little monster to several vets in Philly, NY and here in Austin, but dont think I have ever come across a doctor so invested in his furry patients. Austin Vet Care might be a little high on the price, but with the way they treat my baby I do not mind paying that. My puppy had a little mass on his leg, We found out it was a benign tumor. Dr. Brandes, called me several times during the procedure to update me on what was going on. If your puppy comes before your wallet I recommend Austin Vet Care. Again, Dr Brandes is the best out there.

Both Dr. Tracy and Dr. Brandes have taken excellent care of our two cats. While the staff can seem rushed at times because they are so busy, we have always had excellent service. I look at taking a pet to the vet in the same light as going to the doctor. You have to be proactive, be involved, and ask questions. I appreciate the calls to check up on one of our cats after a procedure like a dental cleaning. Thankfully I can get pet insurance through my place of employment so that helps defray some of the cost. As long as we are in Austin, we will use Austin Vet Care at Metric.

I recently switched to Austin Vet Care at Metric due to the poor customer service and treatment of my pet at my previous veterinarian. Im happy I did. The staff was helpful and courteous. They treated my pet like a fellow pet owner/animal lover would. The vet was easy to talk to and was very patient with my dog who is a bit of a coward when it comes to his appointments. I could tell that sanitation was a priority. Would recommend to a friend.

The vet found things even I had missed just doing a general check on my dogs while we were there to figure out if the whole bones swallowed were going to require surgery to remove. A thorough explanation of everything was given as well as options and how best to proceed. They have followed up with me proactively and I feel very comfortable withe the level of care and attention being given to my Aussies.

I just cannot say enough good things about this clinic! The entire staff is so friendly and makes you feel like you are part of the family. They genuinely care about you and your pets. They explain things thoroughly, provide cost estimates before providing services, and their standards of care are amazing! I will never go any where else!

Ive been coming to Dr. Brandes for a couple of months now for my new puppys care. He and his staff have always been so welcoming, warm, and professional. I am sad to have to leave their care due to a move to Houston but rest assure you and your family pets are in great hands here. Ill miss yall!

I take my service dog her for annual check up. Making appts are easy and have weekends available, the lobby and treatment rooms are clean and odor free. The vet and techs are very friendly and highly knowledgeable, there isnt any pressure or upselling and all fees are presented professionally

Dr. John and his team took great care of our dog, Beta, while we were out of town. He communicated his diagnosis clearly over the phone and kept us updated every step of the way...and Beta loves going to visit!
