Terrible. DO NOT GO HERE. We adopt medical needs shelter dogs and go the ER more than most as a result. My dog broke her arm severely a few weeks ago. We usually use VRCC for our veterinary emergencies but this place is much closer to our home, and given the trauma we opted to go there. Big mistake. I phoned them as we were on our way to let them know we were coming and with what type of injury. I was told to come. We got there and the person who greeted us (a tech I presume) wanted to put her on the scale, with a completely snapped in half front leg, crying in pain and shaking uncontrollably. I asked her to not do that, and stated her approximate weight to the tech-there was no one else there at this time. The tech brought us into a room and stated she needed the ER visit payment up front-now-before she took her back. I assured her they would get pd, my husband was getting my purse out of the car. She disappeared with her after I repeatedly stated they would get paid, and came back about 10 minutes later with an estimate for services which included a pain injection, a splint, and various other items. I asked about surgery, which she clearly would need, and was told they dont do orthopedic surgeries there. Remember I called them prior to going there to tell them it was a broken leg. So we ended up going to VRCC anyways-having wasted an hour there. As we left, I was getting out my checkbook to pay them for her pain injection and splint, which I thought they were doing, so we could get her to vrcc safely and comfortably, when the tech brought her out, her arm still flopping around, crying, and shaking in extreme pain. They did nothing for her. NOTHING. There for an hour. Oh no wait! They did weigh her and told me her exact weight as I left-that was why we heard her screaming in the back- we thought they were splinting her and giving her a pain injection. Nope- just putting her on the scale. Shameful. I guess because we were leaving to seek surgical care, which they could not provide, they decided to do nothing for her. There was no bill of course because they did nothing for her. They did offer to keep her until morning to manage her pain (this was the estimate provided to me) and then we could pick her up and take her to VRCC at that time but we did not see how that made any sense when we could go there now. BTW- VRCC took care of all her needs quickly and professionally. I stopped by a few days later to address this with the manager but was told the manager was not there- and only works nights. Hmmmm. If I could give less than 1 I would.

My experience here was both concerning, frustrating, and disappointing. I brought my dog in late at night after he got into a bottle of medication and I was concerned about an overdose. The knowledge of the vet tech was concerning at best, as I told her the name of the medication (prescribed to dogs, Previcox) dosage and number of pills, but she did not know the medication. When we entered the exam room I held my dog and she asked if he was okay with thermometers. I said I could hold him, and her response was that "as the yellow signs on the walls indicated" I was not allowed to handle him during examination. I had not had a chance to look around the room much less read the signs. The vet came in, very little explanation and difficult to track in a conversation. She said she would be back with estimates. I asked for them to be broken down into steps we could take. The first two estimates brought out indicated no steps towards treatment, but overall ideal treatment. We discussed and I asked again for steps of treatment. A second estimate was brought out with a few changes, but again no steps. I addressed this again, and had a conversation with the vet again, in which I was talked down to and treated as if I were clueless. Again, no questions directly answered and not a lot of detail. I asked for a third estimate, and agreed upon the treatment. I was asked for a realistic price range, but out of concern after multiple attempts to communicate what I was asking for in terms of treatment steps, I was fearful of providing one because it felt as though the number I gave would be matched, and I would be told this is the lowest cost option. From owning numerous animals (including horses) I feel that I have a good idea of a fair budget - and that was not represented here in the least. Nor was the ability of the staff to communicate and demonstrate knowledge. In the meantime, my dog sat with me for close to an hour with no treatment. I would highly advise to make the drive to a different 24hr. Vet Hospital (e.g. VCA Hospital)

I took my cat to Animal Critical Care when she got sick on a Sunday morning. Overall: They mostly did their job in getting my cat the attention she needed as soon as possible. The price was acceptable. The facilities were very clean. But I wouldnt go back. There are other animal hospitals in this area. Here are some of the issues I had: - Despite a rotating staff being the nature of a 24 hour business, I found there to be too many unacceptable discrepancies. One doctor in particular gave me no information about my cats current GI/stomach condition but instead complained that my cat had been really uncooperative and then, out of the blue, speculated that she could have brain damage. - Despite the fact that I called 3 times and was told each time everything was fine, when I finally spoke to a doctor, I was told otherwise. - There were several procedures she required they were not able to give her. I had already paid for these. (They make you pay for everything up front.) I did get a refund on these services. This process went fairly smoothly, but was still a little idiosyncratic. - Lastly, yes, I know a cat who is scared and in pain can be hard to handle. But, Animal Critical Cares treatment of my cat was not proper. It was excessive. They were in a hurry, wouldnt let me be with her because of "liability issues" when they did her blood draw, and did not bring her back to me afterwards, like they stated they would. My cat has always been docile and never, in 15 years, have I seen her so agitated and upset. This indicated to me that they were doing something very wrong and were treating her improperly. The fact that they wouldnt let me be with her during a routine blood draw proves this issue.

We took my 7 month old puppy in for v/d they kept us in the room for over 2 hours charged a 78$ office visit for the doc to come in and just say we are going to test for parvo. 78$ for him to say 3 words!. waited another 30 minutes for them to come in to do the test on top of another 60$ and another 20 minutes for the results. then the doc came in to tell us she tested positive and it we need to hospitalize her and that would be 5000$ oh and not to mention he told us he has no problem putting animals down (like that made me feel good that my dog was being treated there!) i declined the service for them to then come back another 20 minutes later for a more reasonable price which was a 24 hr treatment that would cost 300$$$. i declined that offer to because the doc made me and my husband feel really uncomfortable after his comment. we left with our sick dog long story short i ended up going back on the 4th to get the "outpatient" care they put us the room for another hour because the doc that was in that day didnt agree with the antibiotics the vet before wanted to give us. they did the one time treatment there and wouldnt let me be with my puppy when they were doing it. paid over 400$ in 24 hours.let me add for the full treatment i paid 36$ to have antibiotics,iv fluid, diarrhea meds, and anti nausea meds and antibiotics at a different location!!! i get it was on a holiday weekend but the least they could have done was have better customer service at least act like they care about the animals they are treating isnt that why they are in the field. i will never go back to this clinic!
