We are new to the Leander area and were looking for a new vet for our two dogs. We found that this office was close to home and thought that we would give it a try. I called the office and spoke to Jessica and let her know that Sadie (our yorkie) needed a hair cut and that Charlie (our schnauzer) needed his annual shots. She said that all they did was shave dogs, not do a breed specific hair cut, which was fine with me because it is getting hot and we always shave her right before summer. She told me that I needed to bring in Sadie first thing when they opened because it would take them longer. I explained that I could not do that because I work in Hutto and needed to leave town by 7. She said that she would come into the office early for me so that I could drop her off. I thought man, this is going to be a great office! Well, I showed up at 6:40 Friday morning and noone was there. I waited 10 mintues and ended up having to take my dog back home before going to work and barely making it on time. I called them that morning and let them know that I was upset, they apologized and said that they would cut her for free to make up for the mistake. I understand that mistakes happen and thought that I would give them a second chance. When I came in later that day to drop off Sadie and get Charlies shots, I realized how unprofessional the office was. The lady that was cutting Sadie acted aggravated when I told her that Sadie was not good with haircuts and then told me that she is just the doctors mother-in-law and is not a professional in any way. I figured that she surely had some experience since she was cutting dogs, and since it was just a shave, it would not be a big deal. So, she took Sadie and another lady took me in a room to get started on Charlie. I believe that it was Jessica, however, I am not sure because she never introduced herself to me. This lady also informed me that she was having to take care of Sadies grooming, which I thought was very unprofessional to tell the customer that. The doctor came in and did Charlies exam, and it is a shame that he has such an unprofessional staff, because he was very nice and very informative. Later that day, when I went to pick up Sadie, she looked awful. Her hair is unevenly shaved. The lady let me know that she had cut her on her stomach and they put some antibiotic ointment on it and she should be fine. She also said, "We had to have people hold her to cut her feet, she hated it, and after I tortured her, then she gave me kisses" I am sorry, AFTER YOU TORTURED HER??? Well, after bringing her home and looking her over, she is cut not only on her stomach but extremely bad under her chin. This was the worst customer service and quality of work that I have ever recieved and will not be taking my pets back here.

I have 4 dogs and 2 cats, all of whom have been very well cared for at the Lakeway Vet Clinic until our recent move to Leander. Four days before Christmas I realized I hadnt seen my Maine Coon in a day or so, and found her hiding under a bed. Shes normally very active and social, but for the next two days, she barely moved, wouldnt talk, and refused to eat or drink anything I put down. With her reduced to skin and bones, and getting worse, I made an appointment and took her to the Leander Vet Clinic. We sat in the waiting room for half an hour with four idle staff behind the counter and one other customer in office, and were finally taken to a room. The vet came in, did a minimal physical exam involving no questions or medical equipment, and gave a diagnosis of Well, shes a little dehydrated". After maybe a minute or two of looking at my cat, he talked for ten minutes about FIV, feline leukemia, and the other fatal buzzwords, before suggesting we run some tests. The vet left, and about five minutes later, a tech came in with a $400 estimate for the tests they wanted to run. I elected, instead, to pay $40 for the "service" I had received so far, and take my cat home. Spent the next three days hand feeding her kitten milk with a syringe every hour, then wet food, and finally back to dry. Shes fine now, no thanks to Leander Vet Clinic, and all six of our pets will be going to a clinic that cares for animals rather than fear-mongering to cover their inflated overhead. Merry X-mas...

I can not express my gratitude in words that will be good enough I am sure. I had just moved to the area and had to get one of my Yorkies in for an emergency and had never been there before, and then a week or so later one in for vaccines. So I do not have much of a history with Dr. Morehead. I decided to add another puppy to the mix since moving to the country I had been wanting to get a larger dog, and after the adoption we had her chacked out to make sure she was well. # days later she started looking a little listless and it was late in the evening, and I did not want to do the drive to Round Rock Emergency vet. I took a chance and called the Vets office and got his cell number and it went to voice mail. I got a call back within 2 minutes and described that she was not well and had started vomiting. He met me at the clinic in 10 minutes and did some tests and confirmed that she had parvovirus. He admitted her that night and took time out of his family time/life to help me and my sick baby. No one offers service like that these days and I am really impressed with his service and his attitude to the people and animals he and his staff serve. As long ans I live in this area and I have any pet/family member they will go to see Dr. Morehead at Leander Vet Clinic. Again, awesome Service, and I hope that my baby makes it through all of this but for the effort he has given I am sure she will be fine!

You will not be disappointed with the love and care your critter will receive from this great clinic!!! My cat nearly died and Dr. Morehead was able to save her life, while maintaining reasonable prices. The staff is super friendly and extremely helpful. They are all very compassionate and caring people. I feel very, very lucky that they opened up their clinic so close to my house. I had a life and death emergency with my cat, and they took her in right away. They helped to work with my budget and get my Kiki on the mend!! Its been quite the ordeal and she is still recovering, but without the love and care we all received from this clinic I can guarantee my cat would not have survived. Thank you ALL very much!! I want to give a special thank you to Ray and Oliver (the resident cats) for helping save Kikis life!

I was looking for a new vet for a cat I had just adopted from a local shelter. When I called the office, I was told they offer free first exams for adopted pets. So I took her in for her check up. Once I saw the Dr., he didnt even exam my cat. She had a cough and he gave me some meds for that ( thats what the 2 stars are for.) But he never check her ears, heart, or anything I would think would be an exam. Then once I check out, Im told there will be an exam charge because she was adopted from the city. I left there paying a $110.00 bill, then had to make follow up that I was told would be another at least $98.00! I will be canceling that appointment and looking for a new vet. If you adopt a pet from a shelter, I would say do not go here unless you plan on shelling out lots of $
