I wholeheartedly believe that Lydian Dental in Tempe provides the perfect combination of dental care, customer service, cost coverage, and social action. Here’s why: Dental care: Lydian Tempe is a relatively small office, with well-qualified and personable dentists who take the time and care to make sure that I have a healthy mouth and teeth. They have the latest equipment and procedures, including an on-premises mill to make crowns right there and then—no temporaries and follow-up appointments necessary. Customer service: During office hours, someone always answers the phone, and they recognize me and my relationship with the office; they’re able to serve me quickly and competently, without putting me on hold indefinitely or passing me off to someone else. Cost coverage: In the past, I’ve had traditional dental insurance, “prepaid” dental insurance, and no dental insurance. With traditional and no dental insurance, I’ve had to forego treatment because I couldn’t afford my costs. The "prepaid dental" companies Ive used have performed substandard dental care, which Ive had to have repaired/redone later by someone else. A year and a half ago, I first visited Lydian because Dr. Connell was my parents’ dentist. I learned about—and joined—the Lydian plan, in which I pay a membership fee for the year, and then each visit is $5, regardless of whether it’s a cleaning, filling, root canal—whatever—just $5 a visit. I’m never afraid to visit the dentist for fear that I won’t be able to pay the fee. Social action: Lydian Dental generously provides their services, supplies, and education to people who can’t afford traditional dental care. I’ve visited their office when the dentists and assistants have been bubbling about their experience over the past weekend serving needy patients in Mexico. If you care about your dental care, your personal time, your budget, and the world; you definitely should check out Lydian Dental. Tell them Nonie sent you.

I have been a patient with Lydian Dental for many years and have been extremely impressed with the care I have received from them. Dr. Connell and all of his staff are professional and expert at what they do, yet also kind and caring. I appreciate that they are conservative with my treatment. Even though I have some issues my gums and teeth, they have worked with me in maintaining them without a lot of expensive and unnecessary procedures. I finally did lose 2 teeth and am in the process now of getting implants. So far it has been easier, less painful and less expensive than I thought it would be. They have the best equipment and I love my hygienist April, who works with me to keep my gums healthy. I would highly recommend the Lydian Dental team to anyone looking for a team that will provide top of the line care at reasonable rates delivered with caring professionalism.

"Id rather be at the dentist". I know that may sound a little strange but it is one of the slogans at Lydian Dental, and I couldnt agree more. This place is wonderful, hands down the best experience Ive ever had at the dentist. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The layout is nice, open, and clean. The technology here is very modern, from checking in with an iPad to the x-ray machine. I got a routine cleaning with Cassi S. as my RDH. She was wonderful to deal with, gentle with her tools, very knowledgable about dentistry, and created an atmosphere of relaxation. I hope she was does all my future preventive care. Dr. Ivette looked at my overall work and suggested I get two teeth pulled. I will say, in all seriousness, I am looking forward to getting them removed just so I can hang out with those two again. What can I say..."Id rather be at the dentist".

Like everyone else said, this place (unlike most dental places) is unbelievably comfortable for the patients. The staff are super friendly and Dr. Josh will be one of the top 10 dentists in the valley fairly soon, if he is not already! :) keep up the great work Valley Dental! Updated on 1/21/2016: As you all may know, Valley Dental is now Lydian Dental. I am just coming back from my first ever filling work done by Dr. Connell and deep cleaning done by April. Very happy with my experience and I dont think your dental experience could get any better than what is offered in Lydian Dental. The new place has a pretty open and contemporary look and feels very comfortable for the patients (or at least that is how I personally feel about it). This is how I would summarize my experience: "I dont always go to a dental place but when I do, I prefer Lydian Dental" :)

After over 20 years using another dental office, and being very satisfied, I switched to Valley Dental Tempe because they became a sponsor of my team, the Arizona Rattlers. The bar was set high by my former dentist and his staff, but Dr. Scott Connell and Valley Dental Tempe have set a new standard for me. A friendly and helpful staff, a comfortable and cheery waiting area, and well equipped exam rooms are only the beginning of the great experiences I have had as a patient of Dr. Connells. I had several complicated dental issues when I arrived, and Dr. Connell immediately created a treatment plan for me that was well prioritized and took my budget into account. My work is now complete and I couldnt be happier. I highly recommend Dr. Scott Connell and Valley Dental Tempe to anyone looking for an excellent dental experience!

First off, everything in this place is new. New chairs, top of the line equipment, iPads and Dre Beats headphones for your pleasure. I have been to quite a few dentists, and this one takes the top spot, April is an AMAZING hygienist, and Dr. Jorge is a truly exceptional Dentist. I had two crowns done here and they were perfect. Dr. Jorge even does that "cheek shake" thing to keep you from feeling the Novocaine injection, which is always appreciated! I liked this office so much I brought my grandmother, my mom, my dad and my girlfriend here. They all loved everyone here and the staff is always asking how my family is doing. Not just solid Hygienists , Dentists and staff - exceptional PEOPLE that care. Thanks to all of you at Lydian for making my visits a breeze!

Lydian Dental has made my fear of dentists slowly go away. I almost chickened out on my first filling appointment and I am so glad I didnt. They communicate well with you and make sure you are the most comfortable throughout the entire process. I was provided music to listen to while Dr. Connell did my fillings which put me at ease. All in all a wonderful experience. They have all the knowledge and the upgraded top of the line equipment while also providing a homey feel to the place. I will absolutely be back again. Would recommend 100%. My Dental hygienist, Cassie, was the most professional and friendly. The entire Lydian Dental team are top notch.

Since the first time I went into this dentist office I have never had a bad experience. They have been the most welcoming group of people and have really done a great job of providing professionalism, understanding, generosity and just overall outstanding customer service. Dr. Connell is by far the most caring dentist I have ever had. He gets the job done but doesnt leave you feeling sore for days! The office staff works with you and is there at all times of the day to answer any questions. All are amazing at giving breakdowns of work that needs to be done, as well as explanations on why things need to be done and in what order. Ellie, one of the hygienists is the best one out there. Shes gentle and gets you in and out all in a timely manor while leaving your mouth minty clean (: By far the best dental office in the valley!!
