This is going to sound like a fake review, but I guarantee you Im a real customer, I have the sore gums to prove it. I have a hard time with Dentistry because to me its so subjective. My last dentist waved a wand on my teeth and told me I had 9 cavities. Im 31 and have had 0 in my entire life. So I didnt go back to any dentist for 24+ months (gasp.) My wife and I checked with all sorts of neighbors and NONE of them could confidently recommend a dentist. So we settled on trying out Avenues Family Dentistry. We just bought a home and decided it was time to be real adults and have primary care physicians and regular dental visits. The location is great, right in the avenues area. The building itself is a little old, and there are not any plasma tvs mounted to the ceiling. (This explains why my last dentist wanted to charge me $350 each to fill 9 cavities.) The staff however, is really friendly. The dental hygienist took the time to explain a few things to me, Dr. Porter didnt just look at an x-ray, waive a wand, and push me out. He took time to explain the ins and outs of my situation, made some recommendations and what do you know? I dont have any cavities. I can 100% recommend Dr. Porter and his team at the Avenues Family Dentistry office. Dont hesitate, if youre looking for a great dentist who has your best interest as a core motivation, schedule an appointment with them. If I had to address the one bad review, I would suggest people understand a dental practice is not a charity. Dr. Porter needs to provide a living for himself and his staff. If youre a broke college student complain to Obama about your totally awesome new health insurance package. Im sure hell take care of you.

I have been Going to Dr. Broman for over 20 Years now and if there is such a thing as a pain free dentist, he is one. To be honest, Ive always had bad teeth, and I dont take as good as care as I should, and I have been to other dentists in the past, but from the first time I saw Dr. Broman he has been one of the most kind, understanding and nonjudgemental people I have ever known. i always leave with a better feeling going there, and I have had my wife who has perfect teeth go there and have hers cleaned, and have sent my children there also. I dont write many reviews, and usally I make sure I do if something is really bad, but I do want to say if you are looking for a great Dentist who will make you feel at ease, dont hesitate to go there. I think you will be pleased. :)

I have been seeing Dr. Porter for the last few years. My experiences with Dr. Porter and his staff have always been extremely positive. Dr. Porter takes the time to do excellent work. I would describe him as a patient perfectionist. He filled a cavity for me once and spent a lot of time making sure it felt perfect in my bite. Another time I had a chipped tooth and he spent time explaining the different treatment options and the pros and cons of each. I greatly appreciated him taking the time to make sure I was comfortable with the fix. I have had several hygienist appointments over the years and have always found the care to be exceptional as well. I drive approximately 40 minutes just to see Dr. Porter and his staff.

Doctor Porter has some skills when it comes to dentistry. I really enjoy being in his office. I had a few dental works done with him. He always takes the time to show me what needed to be done and provide a clear explanation before preceded with any work. He is a very gentle and caring person. I always receive a call from Doctor Porter the day after each procedure to making sure that I am doing okay or if I have any questions. I would recommend him to all my friends and families. Thank you for choosing this career path! People like you make the world a better place. His staffs are super nice too. They took the time to explain insurance coverage verses out of pocket cost. I really appreciate them too.

Dr. Porter was able to fit me into his schedule quickly for a tooth extraction. His staff and dental assistants were all very friendly and professional. Ive gone to several dentists prior to Dr. Porter who all seemed to be interested more in seeing a large volume of patients over doing the job right. (which is what led to the extraction). Dr. Porter made sure to take the time needed to complete the job well. He also took the time to call me from his cell later that evening to make sure all was going well. If you are looking for an honest, reliable dentist who cares about his patients, Dr. Porter is your dentist.

Ive been going to Avenues Family Dentistry over the past year or so, and theyre absolutely amazing! The work Dr. Porter has done has been quick and as pain free as I couldve ever hoped for! I had a tooth pulled, a bone graft, an implant, and soon a new permanent tooth. So, Ive spent hours in those chairs! Not only is Dr. Porter nice, communicative, and an incredible dentist, the other staff are so hospitable and welcoming. If anyone is looking for a good dentist who will do their very best to make sure theyre taken care of, Dr. Porter and the rest of Avenues Family Dentistry is the place to go!!

I was in severe pain and Dr. Porter met with me on short notice. I have been to a different dentist before for similar problems and Dr. Porters care went well beyond the boundaries of what I had experienced with my other dentist. I could tell he really cared that I was in pain and did whatever it took to give me relief. He explained everything to me so I understood every step of the process. He fixed the problem and even followed up with me in person to make sure I everything was O.K. As a result of my treatment I now take my entire family to Dr. Porter.

I have been going to the dentist twice a year my whole life - never had more than 1 or 2 cavities at a time. On my first visit to Dr. Porter he told me I had 16 cavities! Immediately I was suspicious - perhaps he thought Id be easy to rip off since Im here for school from out of state. I went for a second opinion at a friends dentist and was told I only have TWO cavities. Dr. Porter was going to charge me in excess of $2500 to fix my "cavities". Based on my experience, I would warn others not to trust this dentists judgement or opinion.

I have enjoyed my dental experience along with my entire family of 10 children and my husband, with varying dental needs, for the last 3 years. I have received the best dental treatment and assistance at very reasonable costs. Dr. Porter is thorough, careful and kind. His staff is friendly and helpful. He has done root canals, crowns, fillings, tooth repair, and most recently the doctor put my 6 year olds front permanent tooth back in after he knocked it out by crashing on his bike. I would recommend his service to anyone!!
