As a military spouse, I have been to many different veterinary clinics in many different places. Sometimes the care that we received was abysmal, sometimes it was outstanding. The care at Johnsen Animal Hospital is by far above and beyond the best I have ever seen. All of the staff, including doctors, techs, and the ladies in front are kind and empathetic to a fault. When my dog had pancreatitis Dr. Lara showed both his expertise and gentleness as he discussed the different options (for both what might be wrong and treatment options) and allowed me to spend an entire day sitting in the back with my dog (as he was in the hospital for his condition). During that day, Dr. Lara came and checked on my dog and I multiple times, discussing my dogs progress each time and showing genuine joy as my dog gradually got better. When my dog and I were able to go home, Dr. Lara made sure to warn me of signs of any additional problems and followed up with me closely afterward, even having new and needed medicines ready for me the next morning in order to resolve a complication. I have met with Dr. Dashley as well and she has similarly shown a breadth of knowledge and expertise, an ability to explain her knowledge clearly and ably, as well as an extraordinary care and gentleness with my dog every time she sees him. I cannot recommend Johnsen Animal Hospital highly enough--my only complaint is that I cant take them with us when we move on to the next base!

Our cat was displaying severe signs of illness. Our daughter recommended this animal hospital so we rushed him over there. They discovered his kidneys were failing & it was so bad the vet didnt think he would be saved. They offered to try, but we all knew he was beyond help at that point. This was our first cat & had him for years. Knowing we had to put him down crushed us. But the staff was soooo kind, tender & sympathetic. They even gave us the option to be with him through the entire procedure. We could tell it was hard on Dr. Johnsen, too. That has to be the hardest part of his job! When it was done, my daughter & I were in tears. But Dr. Johnsen, with his tendered heart, went beyond his duty & gave us a hug. That meant so much! A few days later, we even received a sympathy card from all of the staff. Weve gotten another cat & will ALWAYS continue going to Johnsen Animal Hospital for all of our medical pet care needs! Theyre just amazing!

We are so blessed and thankful to have such a wonderful, erudite, intelligent, caring and compassionate veterinarian! Dr. Dashley has distinguished herself as a highly skilled doctor and clearly deserves to be working in a top-tier veterinary hospital. We are so fortunate to have her in El Paso, Texas where her expert care is greatly needed. Matt, Practice Manager, and Dr. Dashley are both very attentive and are always willing to go above and beyond the call of duty to provide exemplary care to all pets. Routine visits and surgeries can be stressful for both pet parents and pets. We are greatly appreciative of Matts warm and kind disposition which helps to assuage this anxiety. We are equally impressed with all of their cheerful, courteous and excellent staff as well. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone!

This rating is from a couple of years ago. We used to have a Pug, which unfortunately is not with us anymore. His name was Taco and Johsen was the only vet he knew. This place was always caring, friendly towards us and Taco. Well, in the summer of 2012, Taco was going to Johnsen for a checkup. While in the back of our van, Tacos eye pop-out, we pulled over tried to pop-it back in and wasnt able to fix the problem. So, I called Johnsen and told them the situation, they told me to just keep him relaxed and they would be ready. As soon as I drove in we rushed Taco in and approximately 30 minutes after Taco was better than before. We were so happy with the outcome of this situation, that we are going back with our new puppy (after 2yrs) a beagle named Kiko.

I love this office! They are VERY efficient which is important to me. The staff is wonderful and so is Dr Dashley. Everyone is very friendly and professional. I followed Dr Dashley from a previous clinic because she is amazing. She takes her time to explain everything and answers all your questions. She is the only Veterinarian that has been able to provide a treatment plan and pain relief for my cat. You can tell everyone that works there truly loves animals.

Absolutely love this clinic. Its clean the staff was friendly, the vet was amazing with our dog. Theyve called back several times to follow up. They really care about the animals and the vet personally called to check on our dog! They were understanding as far as prices and didnt push us on extra things to make us spend more. I wouldnt go anywhere else in El Paso. I would recommend this place to anyone with an animal who is apart of your family like ours is.

The medical treatment is a collaborative effort for all involved. We have other Vet options closer to home...NE El Paso... BUT nobody could diagnose our new puppy. weve had several vet visits since we rescued him. Dr. Dashley was wonderful and has given us hope that our puppy may get better. At the very least he is now comfortable and we are grateful for her time in educating us and helping us treat our puppy. I wont go anywhere else. Thank you Dr Dashley and team for supporting us and Petey.

Johnsen Animal Hospital is a really great hospital for our fur baby! From the front desk to the doctors, everyone is wonderful and friendly. Even when we utilize their boarding services, they always call us with updates to let us know how our dog is (since he has an anxiety problem). I would definitely recommend them for your fur baby family member. Thank you for being such a trustworthy place!

The Doctors, Vet techs, and receptionists ARE AMAZING!!! Dr. Dashley truly has a passion for our four legged family members. ALL the vet techs are so knowledgeable and they too truly care about the entire family. I really like that when you walk in there is a side for cats and a side for dogs. There is also a small little patio area where you can wait outside if you want.

Dr. Vicki Dashley has been an amazing veterinarian especially for rabbits which are not common pets. She was able to diagnose two of my rabbits and set realistic outcomes for diseases and small infections. She is not stoic like many other veterinarians I have encountered. After the first visit, you will trust her judgment and relax since your pet will be in good hands.

Dr. Dashley and Dr. Lara always take great care of my cats and dog, and so did Dr. Johnsen before he retired. The staff are all wonderful and I know my pets are in great hands there. I also really appreciate the separate entrances and waiting areas for cats and dogs, and they accept Care Credit. Im never taking my pets to another clinic!
