Thank goodness for Pet ER!!! I have had sick/injured animals and have taken them to Pet ER knowing that my dogs and cats will be treated by the best. The Veterinarians and staff are top notch. The level of care and compassion is excellent, and they have the best diagnostic equipment available too. Even though my dogs are sick enough to be there, they are relaxed and comfortable--definitely a sign that they trust them and know these folks are there to help. And that, gives me so much peace of mind. Yes, there sometimes is a wait, but remember people...just like a human ER there is a matter of triage to work on the most critical patients first. On one of my trips in they were working to save the life of a dog that had a rattlesnake bite and while I was worried about MY dog, Im sure the owner of the bitten dog was glad that I was put on "wait mode" and it took a while to actually see the Doctor and Im OK with that--had the tables been turned I certainly would want my dog to be taken care of before less critical animals. As it should be more critical cases FIRST! However, I know that my dog was still being tended to as well. While you may be locked out (safety for everyone) as some other posters have stated...the animals are all being cared for and stabilized if needed. And quite frankly, sometimes the animals actually respond better to staff if the owner isnt around. It is hard to wait, especially when there is a critical issue but knowing that the animal comes before me is all I need. I have found the communication between all the Doctors and staff to be excellent, and hopefully I am able to fully communicate what I see as the problem to better help them in their diagnosis. Emergency care is expensive but each time I was given an estimate. Perhaps Im different than some of you balking at the cost--my dogs are my "kids" and worth every penny of having them be cared for compassionately and expertly. I am very grateful for the awesome care from Pet ER. And, I will give a plug for pet health insurance too--dont have it on my older dogs but Ive learned and have it on my younger one so that gives me a better financial cushion if needed. Bottom line--I ALWAYS recommend Pet ER to all my friends! THANK YOU Pet ER!!

I went there looking for help- Instead I wasnt given a diagnosis at all. I asked the front desk help, who by the way has the manners of a venomous snake, for the diagnosis. She insisted that there was none and that no tests had been run on my pet; conversely the vet had prescribed medications. A little fishy; a lot fishy! I was asked to return to the exam room and the vet was very curt and rude. She informed me that I had left my dog with "this condition for forever", however it is important to note that she never did claim a diagnosis. Furthermore I had informed her that my dogs tail had not been up to par for a few weeks and the acute issue had only been noticeable for a few hours; a few weeks and forever have a great distance between them! Lastly I asked her if the anti-inflammatory medication would cost less at my regular vets office. In an abrupt and gasp filled response she told me that she was offended I would even ask her such a question. Who is offended by a question like that?? Answer: only someone trying to rip you off or someone that is terribly tired and should not be working on my or anyones animals. I have never, in all of my life, been so offended, badly treated, and misrepresented in the presence of a veterinarian. Every professional institution has a bad seed, and Fresno this Fresno Pet ER is the BAD SEED. Steer clear of this place. I only wish I had read the other review before ruining my dogs and my morning. It was a worthless, stressful waste of time. In conclusion I ended up at another 24 Vet!

When I logged on and noticed all the others with the same issues I wasnt surpriced to read these storys which are so alike As a local business owner I have delt with all types of people but nobody as heartless as these guys. First scam was on Nov 28 2009 We rushed our family dog in because he was very ill. Well first off we were told that he may have swallowed something and he needed X-Rays. Without discussing prices they had already done this. I was sent home with our dog and told it didnt look like he had swallowed anything, just give him these antibiotics and it should fix the problem ($525)still not knowing what was really wrong a couple of weeks went by and his illness returned I decided cost was not a issue I just wanted results so I returned again hoping that I would finally have some answers..PS...should have read this blog first..LOL..So doing so I return with our dog and wait 1.5 hours to see the doctor. She comes in and gives us a 45min lecture on how he needs obediance school NOTHING related to his sickness...After listening to all of this I ask so what could be wrong with our dog she states well we should first neuter him and then do some blood work and a ultrasound... Just complete UPSALE..I wanted to laugh .....so as I leave the receptionist says I need to pay my bill.....She never even listened to his heart...She didnt even touch him and they were trying to charge me $79.00 for consultation fee BEWARE.

Brought my cat in for a blocked bladder. They immediately took him back as I agreed to $500 worth of care up front to stabilize him (he was in extreme pain). The Vet, with her new boobs, came in saying it would be between $1,500 to $2,000 to treat him, that he would have to stay for a few days, and would need a slew of tests. I flat out said no because of the cost, and they let me think about what I wanted to do. After a few minutes they came back with a number lower than originally quoted, but still too high. I said put him down. I cant pay that much to shoot in the dark because it wasnt guaranteed. Eventually, they came down to $650 to unblock him, flush him with fluids and keep him for 12 hrs. No x-rays, no blood work, no massive lists of tests. Sent me home with a weeks worth of antibiotic and my cat is doing fine. I changed his diet and hes very happy. It made me angry because they knew what was wrong with him. Im sure this wasnt their first blocked bladder on a cat. I was displeased with my service, but unfortunately, being a pet ER, I didnt have much of a choice on where to take my cat at the time. Be cautious when taking your animal, odds are they dont need to perform most the tests on the list they give. I know this may not be the case for every animal, some may need most of the tests, but Im happy I didnt cave in and pay the original price.

My dog came down with kennel cough. They gave me antibiotics. 2 weeks later and my sweet Bassett is worse. Took her back. Gave me more of the same antibiotics. Started acting strange, like confused all the time and began crying and having trouble breathing. Took her back. Thru x-rays, said it was slight arthritis. Gave me pain pills. Last night, took her back because she could hardly breath and was loudly whimpering/crying. They gave her a pain shot. Soon after, while we were still there, she could not use her back legs. Two options they gave me... Transport her to up north to a neurologist or take her home. We cant afford that so we took her home. Dr. was very rude and stated that we were uncaring. I am not exaggerating. They had no explanation as to why, after the pain shot, she could not use or feel her back legs. We used a towel and carried her to the car. I cant stress enough how uncaring they were. After a horrible night of not being able to breath and moaning, took her to our vet. He checked her thoroughly and told us that she had a severe spinal issue and would just get worse. We did the right thing and decided to take away all her pain. Im not blaming anyone. But the callous actions/words of the Vet while we were in a crisis, will stick in my head forever.
