We couldnt be more disappointed in Klaich Animal Hospital Ltd. They just dont care for anything but money. Though money is how a business is run they seem to have lost their soul in the process. On 09/20/2014 we went to go feed our 3 1/2 month old puppy and found that she had a broken leg. We rushed her to the closest Emergency Animal Hospital and they x-rayed and wrapped the leg and advised us to go to Klaich Animal Hospital Ltd. The next day we took her there and after the examination they told us that it was not possible to have the leg casted and that it required surgery to put in screws with an adjustable bar on the outside of the leg. We agreed to this and the procedure was done. The cost of the surgery was a little over $2,000 after the follow-up x-rays and the cost of the Emergency visit was a little over $680. We had no choice but to put the bills on our Credit Card. The surgery went well and everything went back to normal after that except we gave her special attention and isolated her to the main bathroom where we made that her private sanctuary. On 12/09/2014 when we got home from work our baby girl wasnt feeling well and unable to eat or hold anything down. We waited until the following morning and she wasnt doing any better so we kept her inside that day and when we got home we knew something had to be wrong and so my other half took a half day off on 12/10/14 and took her to the vet for an x-ray and it was discovered that something was stuck in her colon. The vet gave us some medicine to try and dissolve the material and advised us that if it didnt move on its own in the next couple of days that it would require surgery to have the object removed. On 12/12/2014 we took her back to the vet for another x-ray and was told that she was in a lot of pain and that the foreign object had not moved much. We were told that the cost of the surgery would be from $1,200 to $1,500 unless they had to remove part of the intestine due to the damage from the foreign object. The estimate for the bowell recess could cost up to $2,500 or more and that we had to make a decision in the next couple of hours. Because we were still paying $1,500 for the broken leg and adding a possible $2,500 more to the bill it put an extreme strain on our financial situation and was forced to make a choice. We were given 3 options. One was to pay the amount that Klaich Animal Hospital Ltd wanted (which would have put us in dire financial straits). The second option was to put our little girl down (this was not an options for us). The third option that Klaich Animal Hospital Ltd gave us was to surrender her to the animal hospital and they would cover the cost of the surgery, spay her and find her a new home. At the time the only options that we were considering was #1 and #3. We were very upset at the idea of giving her up but knew that it would be almost impossible to handle a $4,000 vet bill but we knew for sure that we wanted her to live so we chose option #3. We were called after the surgery and told that they did have to do a bowell recess and that she done well during the surgery which meant that the higher cost would have been what was required. It disturbs me greatly that the Klaich Animal Hospital Ltd would rather take our beloved pet from us and give her to a stranger than accept a lower amount of payment that we could better afford. If they would have been willing to lower the cost they could have made some money for their Company, we could have kept our lovely little girl. But instead they would have us be miserable by taking our beloved pet and lose money on a surgery. I dont see how this makes any business sense. This insane way of doing business is appalling and very hurtful and should not be allowed. I will do everything that I can to let as many people know how they operate their business so that others will not have to go through the pain and agony that we did. We have now lost a valued member of our family due to an insane business practice. Sad and disappointed ex-puppy owners.

We brought our Labrador to this facility for 3 years, since he was 6 weeks old. Over Easter Sunday weekend, he got severely sick and had to be brought to the Animal Emergency hospital. Since the cost of Animal Emergency is very high we decided to transfer him to Klaich on Sunday. Well their office did not let the Animal Emergency hospital know that they would be closed on Easter Sunday. Its understandable that they would close, however when I got to their door, there was a veterinarian there and he turned me and a very very sick dog away. We had to bring him back to the Animal Emergency Hospital and unfortunately with their inflated costs, we could not afford the operation. It is not Klaichs fault that we could not pay for the operation, however I think a veterinarian who truly loves animals would NOT turn away an animal that is obviously sick. Besides it would have cost a lot less for a regular veterinarian care than emergency services, not to mention they know the dogs history of anything and everything. We also have two dachshunds and each time we brought them in, their exams were rushed, even nail clippings go wrong. I wouldnt mind one mishap with a nail clipping but every single time? Their service is just absolutely terrible, and the only upside to this place is that they do not charge very much for their exams and shots. But honestly, as a consumer most people know you get what you pay for. The only saving grace of this animal hospital is their help during the whelping of my dachshunds first litter. They were very, very helpful, however one good experience does not make up for all other bad experiences with them, especially when one resulted in having to put the dog to sleep.

The groomer diagnosed my dog with lice and asked me to take her to the vet immediately. I did, and the front desk girl took me to a room and left me there, standing with my dog for 45 minutes. When I went to the desk to check on my status, she told me to wait. I waited another 10 minutes. When I checked again at the front desk, the girl said that we were next, and then she brought me a chair so that I could sit down. After 75 minutes, the vet came in, looked at the paper the groomer sent with the lice attached, told me that the dog had lice, and suggested that I leave her for a few hours to get a bath. After waiting for 45 minutes, the vet spent 2 minutes with me. I have been using the Klaich hospital for 40 years, and this is the worst service Ive ever received. I was so angry that I fought the urge to cry. Im considering changing vets. Today, a person from the office called me to apologize for my treatment last week. Furthermore, she had the vet call me to discuss my dogs problem with the lice. He just rechecked my dog, couldnt find any more lice, gave her a shot for allergies, and reassured me that if she doesnt get better, hell take another look at her. My treatment today was the polar opposite of that last week. Thank you to Rene and Dr. Mark Klaich for reversing my opinion of the hospital from last week. Ive reversed my rating to match my thanks.
