I took my 2 cats in for their rabies vaccine. I arrive and go straight into the examination room. A vet tech greets me, weighs the fur-kids, then explains to me that shell take them into the back to be examined by the vet as hes in surgery. Im looking at her confused as examining another animal would require him to scrub-out and scrub back in after the examination of my cats, just the same as he would have to do to come into the room and meet me, his new client. She comes back quickly with the first one and he sits in his carrier while she takes the other. She comes back and the other cat crawls into his carrier, which is odd as they were exploring and trying to open the door before she took them back. I continue to sit there, waiting for us to do shots and clip their nails... but she informs me that theyre done and all that got done while they were in the back room. Im surprised as that was very quick for the doc to scrub out, examine, do shots, and trim nails. So Im left wondering if they even got examined. I got to the cashier where she doesnt know what I got done and mis-charges me then runs my card again for more. She prints out the receipt with both of my cats names mis-spelled and a $10 charge for the nail trim. $120 later and we get in the car. I get home and the kids are all over me, wanting to be held. I look down and see that one of their nails isnt clipped. I look more closely at their nails... cat 1: 9 nails clipped, 3 of which are bloody. Cat 2: all 10 nails trimmed, 2 bleeding. Really??? Are you kidding me? over a 25% fail rate!? Theyre nails are clear and easy to trim. I have never cut either of them and now theyre going to completely freak out the next time I get the clippers. Ive also recieved e-mails from the office... with both cats names still mis-spelled and incorrect birthdays. Its embarassing, as an Aggie, to have the A&M symbol around this guys office. He went there for his clinicals, not an A&M graduate. This is definitely not the level of quality that program stands for.

I took my 4 month old pit lab mix in to get his stiches removed wich they did for free even tho the 24 hour emergancy vet did the stiching up. And also to get neutered and shots a second visit. And he used to be a handful around other dogs. Trying to be protective. They were non judgemental and so sweet to my pit mix and knew just how to work with him. He is not about 2 and a lot better behaved. But the emergency vet was on edge and he wasnt walking anywhere his back leg was opened up cut bad from the fence he didnt quite make it over.and I was holding him the whole time the emergency vet was so nervous that they double dosed him ( I was told by counter lady) with tranquilizers, I had to watch his breathing all night and keep waking him up throughout the night. He has always been great around people even when he was hurt. He is scared of emergence vet building, but excited when we go to thurman. He even took a pic with Sam for me to give to the pit spay and neuter program. Also when I took my moms schnauzer in to thurman and he had a adverse reactions to the rabies shot (he was over 10 yrs old), he opened back up after hours and took care of him and didnt charge anything extra. I highly recommend him especialy for people that have had bad experiences with other vets that have been breed judgemental.

I took my male dog to have him nuetered, went over paperwork & dropped him off around 8am and I was suppose to pick him up at 4:30pm. During the time he was at their office I called to check up on my dog and they wouldnt really give me answer or if he was in surgery yet and didnt call me back. When I picked him up also, they just handed me my dog and told me everything went fine and that he was just loopy from the meds, they didnt give me any paperwork and when I asked if he had papers they responded no.... My dogs incision where they cut was sewed up to tight and where his incision scar feels thick and bumpy and doesnt like me touching it, and its very tender. My regular dogs vet usually gives us a call to check up with their patients, well they did not. But I also had to call Thurman for the paperwork that states my dog was nuetered and he had surgery, so they sent me the papework threw via mail... All I have to say that the Office is really nice and the employees are really polite but I dont believe my dog wasnt really taken care of there.

I have taken all 3 of my dogs to Dr. Thurman and all three of my visits have been excellent. Dr. Thurman and all his staff members have been very helpful, polite, and professional. I found a 6 week old puppy on the side of my house and took him into Dr. Thurmans office yesterday after calling around and getting estimates on how much it would be to get the puppy checked out and find out more information on him. Dr. Thurmans office was the most reasonable and closest to my house. Dr. Thurman and his staff weighed him, listened to his heartbeat and breathing, dewormed him, and gave him the first of his vaccinations. He told me the puppy may have worms and turned out being right when my puppy pooped out a worm this morning. He also ended up giving me the "Good clients" discount as he did with my other dog. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend this vet to everyone; nice staff, reasonable prices, and overall really good visits!

Been a loyal client ever since he gave us a second opinion on our puppy who was having seizures (who we were told by another vet that he would need to be put down) and gave us the correct diagnosis, got him the correct meds, dailed them in and he is the best little dog. Hes also gone above and beyond with our kids 4-H animals and dogs. Dr. Thurman has a good old fashioned work ethic and intuition and understanding that makes him a very good vet. Also, his staff is fantastic, they care and go above and beyond. I highly recommend him to everyone.

I am very disappointed in this office. They have people who are applying for a position there come in and work, FOR FREE, for 4 hours to see how they do I guess. Then do not even bother to call the applicant to tell them they did not get the job. Very, very unprofessional. I will never take any of my animals there because if they treat humans this way how would they treat animals. Shame on them.

I have been taking my dog to Dr. Thurman since he opened his doors. He is gentle with my dog (and all of my sisters dogs, too) and his staff is always friendly and inviting. My sister has a dog that HATED going to the vet until we started going to see Dr. Thurman, and now she gets excited every time she goes in. I 100% would recommend him to anyone with a pet that is a loving part of their family.
