I cant thank this office enough! Our 13 year old cat passed away at home tonight and our regular vets office was closed. Since this place is open 24 hours, I brought our deceased cat to this office. The way the staff treated me and my kitty was extraordinary! They escorted me into a private lobby/room where I could hold my cat and grieve. A staff member sat with me and comforted me as she personally filled out all of my paperwork. All I had to do was use 1 hand to sign while i still cuddled my cat wrapped in her blanket. She was very compassionate and thoroughly provided me with my disposal options and fees while answering my questions. My son was at home very upset that he didnt have anything tangible to remind him of her. I mentioned this to the lady and she suggested a handmade mold/plaque of her paw prints that included her name painted on it. I purchased it and cannot wait to pick up our momentum of her next week. When I came home with our cats blanket (which he insists on keeping) he was so surprised and reassured to know that he will in fact have her paw prints to remember her by. In fact, he has already selected where we will display it. All of the staff here were amazing, patient, and genuinely compassionate! They have earned our business for any future after hours emergency pet care we may ever need!

Hand downs worst experience at a veterinarian office, I have ever dealt with. This was an awful experience for myself. I took a puppy to get checked out because his temp was lowering, and had being trying to puke with no success. When I put my finger in his mouth to see if anything was stuck I found nothing, besides the fact my finger was now covered in blood. He was having trouble breathing as well, and at the arrivel to SVS he was taken shortly after he was taken it became ever so that apparent they were hounding me for a decision. Not to mention it was 2 in the morning, and this was a lot to take in. I was given 4 options take him home to die, pay a 900 deposit, euthanize him, or surrender him. I was very hard pressed to surrender him by all in the hospital. He was a very young pup about 4 months old, a very good looking dog. I felt pressured by staff As if one of the had found an interest in him, and wanted me to surrender rights beings a SVS employees have first choice to adopt the puppy. Now trying to contact the hospital to ask if he made it through the night and they refuse to tell me anything about him at all. I researched the legal aspect and read that they are allowed to give the information on his status, but refused to. WORST VET OFFICE IN NEVADA.

Brought my 12 y.o. dog here after being attacked by another dog. The place is big so they shoved us into a room with our dog while we waited for the vet to speak with us. In the ~ 90 minutes we waited, 2 or 3 techs told us there were 2 doctors on staff until we learned there was only 1! This doctor (Snider?) kept coming in and out going into ungodly detail about all the bad things that could happen while beside us, our poor dog just lay there bleeding out of her abdominal wound. I thought Id ask the doctor how long she had been a veterinarian since she would be the one performing surgery. She snapped back saying 20 years, maybe....Anyway, after waiting the 90 minutes with our poor dog in pain and being lied to about how many doctors were on staff, we picked our dog up and took her to another animal hospital in Sparks (Baring). We carried our dog in, where she was taken back immediately and examined. Within 10 minutes a veterinarian consulted with us and we got procedures quickly underway. What a difference....Baring isnt even an emergency clinic; to call Sierra an "Emergency Animal Hospital is a stretch. I wish I could give them zero stars because thats what they deserve. Rude staff, under manned and non-existent customer service.

Over priced wayyyyy over priced you wait and wait and wait the vet barely makes an appearance took my cat in they brought me my bill which was $800 and after reviewing the bill and seeing that my cat was not in that much pain she was not that sick they lowered the bill to $300 they ballpark the highest amount that they can get and claim its because their specialty veterinarians went back in to get the bandages redone and they offered to amputate her tail but then brought me a $1,600 bill when I told him I couldnt afford that much, the nighttime vet gave my girlfriend and I bunch of attitude wanting that bmw payment and walked out. All of the vet techs were very helpful, more than the veterinarians themselves and there are more on an understanding level when it comes to financing and helping your pet. I would not suggest going to this veterinarian. And just because you put that word specialists in front of veterinarian does not mean you can charge more than an actual veterinarian people need to get your minds right

These guys were remarkably helpful when I came in with my sick little kitty cat at about 2am. They were able to quickly diagnose the issue and provide me with alternative plans of action. They provided a helpful list of veterinary care places for the future of my cats health that offered reasonable prices and sent me home with antibiotics for my baby boys infection. All the staff were helpful and friendly, and they provided a new box for my cat when the box I brought him in broke. The nurse even helped carry him to the car. All in all it was a reassuring and helpful experience and Im thankful for their care!

Unbelievable! My daughter called several vets for pricing for being spayed. As a Reno Native ( 4th generation) , I wanted her to call Klaich Animal Hospital, A plus vet.,Fairground Vet. and this place. I was mortified when I heard the receptionist quote $1200. Her reasoning? We have surgeons on site? WHAT???? Does one send the dog to Renown? All the other hospitals quoted $ $217-$270 AND they have surgeons on site!!!!! Shame , shame , shame on you! I imagine you charge so much to pay for that beautiful new building , but you all should be ashamed of yourselves.

Thank you to the SVS doctors, nurses and staff who made the last few months of Magics life even possible, giving me precious time to be with him, care for him and process his eventual transition, as his kidney disease progressed. The professional care, kindness and responsiveness of this pet hospital is impressive, including the thoughtful card they sent. I miss Magic everyday, but it would have much worse had I not had those last 3 months SVS made possible. :)

This hospital is so amazing I really recommend. Our precious little dog Tubby unfortunately passed away and they were so kind and thoughtful, they sent a personal card to our address with a beautiful poem. This place is also very nice inside very clean and they have amazing art work. Tubbys doctors were very informative and answered all of our questions. Wait times were very short too. Thank you Sierra Veterinary Specialist for making our loss a little easier.

Hmmm. Took my King Charles Cavalier in today regarding a limp. He was given a medication for which I paid $67.30. Looked at my invoice from one month ago at my local vets office. Paid $39.75 for the exact medication- exact quantity and strength. When I called to complain the snippy receptionist said they charge more because they are a specialty practice. I said the office visit was understandably more- not the medication!!!
