We signed in, were taken back to a room where a tech asked us some questions, told we would be provided an estimate, and then took our dog away to be examined. I felt like we were dropping off our car to be worked on. An hour later were still in the room with no word from anyone. During the question and answer session we were also told we would need to leave her there until they could get to the procedure later in the afternoon. This is not how to run a veterinary service. You wouldnt expect parents to have their child taken to another room while they wait somewhere else. Our dogs and cats are our children. We could hear other dogs whining in other areas and even saw a dog panting from anxiety in a small cage in the hall. This is not a cage brought in but a wall locker type of cage this business has there for that purpose. We have animals because we love them. They are all rescues and they are an important part of our lives. We expect any veterinarian we visit to show compassion. We saw no compassion during this visit. This is strictly a business looking to make money. They certainly dont give the impression that they are there because they care about animals. All the vet could say to us when we questioned the way they run their business is "Thats the way we do things here." Well, thats not the way my loved ones will be treated. So if you just want to drop off your pets and not be bothered with them until these people do whatever they do then this is the place for you. If you want to be involved in whats going on and be by your pets side you are better off finding someone else because this isnt the place.

We have had our almost 8yr old yorkie here several times. We and he have always been treated wonderfully. Dr. Morales, Dr. Jen and Stephanie are who Jake has seen. They answer any question you have and will explain everything clearly. Jake is feeling the best that he has in over 6 months. While the clinical team is impressive, beware of payments. You will have to pay every single cent that day. If you have to leave your pet overnight, you pay half of the estimated bill and pay in full when picking up. I say this because we have spent a couple of thousand dollars in a 4-6 week period. However, I was planning on paying $1000. On a $1400. bill(2nd visit) . I had just paid over $1000. 2-3 weeks before. I went to pic up Jake after a 2 night stay and the office manager refused to work with me on a $397.97 balance after I paid $1000 . on a bill of $1397.97. As she was leaving from the day on a Friday, I heard her tell the receptionist to get ever bit of the bill. I feel certain she was talking about me. She is what makes it seem to just be about money. The medical staff do not. I will continue to go here because of Dr. Morales and Stephanie. I feel they saved my Jake. Im not going to let the deal of the bill keep me from getting the best care for my fur baby. Just be prepared to pay ALL, not going to work with on payment. I will add Dr. Morales did help us on some of the charges, which was very appreciative.

Wonderful place! The love and care shown not only to our sweet boy but my family was really beautiful. It truly touched us the way they treated and loved him when they did not have to! Dr. Morales, Rachel, Becky, and the whole staff were wonderful to us. They throughly explained everything to us and gave the rundown of all our options, were available to us whenever we needed them, checked in to make sure everything went good the day after his treatments, and although my baby passed cause cancer got the best of him, it is because of these beautiful people we got that extra time to accept what we could not change and see him over his hump with a proper until I see you again. They sent flowers to us after his passing, Im not sure why and again, they did not have to but it was the most beautiful thing during our grief and we were beyond grateful I could cry just typing this... beautiful place, beautiful people. Also just want to say to pet owners be careful of the flea medication you give to your pets. They dont tell you some of them are made by the same company who makes round up, Id personally recommend you stop using it, throw it in the garbage and burn it but thats just me. Educate yourselves on what your truly putting on and into your furry family members. Take care.

If Capital Veterinary Specialists Treated people, Id go there to be treated myself! Clean, Mega-professional, and 100% Rock Stars (best of the best) top to bottom! My Buddy had a Perineal Hernia and is 12 yrs old, so I was initially terrified of him being under anesthesia, being an older dog. I went for the Evaluation Appointment, and then I had 0 fear. DVM DACVS Carl Jehn handled the initial appointment, and I was massively impressed and by the end of the appointment, I confidently handed off Willies leash to have his surgery the next morning. They have an Overnight Line so you can call and check on your best friend, and not once did this staff seem even slightly annoyed. The entire staff was beyond impressive (front desk, vet techs, surgeon). From what I understand, ALL the Drs there are Rock Stars and as good as Dr. Jehn, but as long as hes there, Ill use him for ALL my animals now and in the future... Amazing experience, and Willie has fully recovered and is 100% back to Pre-Hernia Willie!

They worked my cat in even though it was last minute as an emergency. It took some wait time and the dog kennel next to the waiting room was loud but the patient rooms were very nice with low windows to look out. The waiting room needs the seats spaced farther apart as we almost ended up in the middle of a dog fight (not good for a stressed and sick kitty). They just moved to this building but you wouldnt have known it due to their professionalism. I was so glad the first question wasnt about how I was going to pay. Payment wasnt discussed until the end of the day. I was overcharged for the boarding but it was quickly corrected. Even though I liked how the first question wasnt about cost, I do wish it wouldve been discussed in the patient rooms to see if I wanted to spend that much. Overall, I give them a 5 because Im sure they are still working out the kinks. They were very professional, took care of my cat, and took time to listen to concerns and answer questions.

After spending the better part of a day watching and interacting with the staff I was very impressed. One by one the dogs happily went outside with the vet staff to be relieved and just as eagerly returned inside. Everyone was treated kindly and Dr. Morales was especially nice to us. Since we live 2 1/2 hours away they did everything they could to accommodate us. After we returned home late that night we found we had a billing issue. Within minutes Dr. M quickly replied and the bill was corrected. Dr. Morales was so amazing, spent so much of her valuable time with us making sure we understood all of our options. Sadly the news was bad for our doggie but if we ever have need for a pet specialist again we will definitely be back.
