I used to really like this office, and I still have a lot of respect for Dr. Erica. I also like Jill and Yogi. However, it seems that Dr. Erica is not there very often lately, and the office seems a bit disorganized and chaotic, like it is clearly lacking in leadership. The last time I was there, I was spoken to very unprofessionally by the dark haired, older receptionist, "Nezlee" I think. She made some very snarky remarks about my purebred puppies and the "price tags" they carry, even though they are from champion bloodlines and their parents are extensively health tested before being bred (a fact she wouldnt know about because they go to a different vet). She obviously has a very strong and negative opinion about breeders and purebred animals. Ive donated money to rescue groups and done more than my fair share of volunteer work with rescue-dogs. I should not need to explain that to her though, in order to be treated with the same respect that customers with mixed-breeds and/or rescue-dogs get from her. As a receptionist, her main focus should be customer service, and she should keep her unsolicited and negative opinion to herself. This was not the first negative experience Ive had there, but it may well be the last. On a more positive note, they have great hours, (open til 8pm during the week, and noon on Saturday), and that is why they do sooo much business. That volume of business might be more than the staff can handle at times though. I would only go back there if I had a minor-emergency after the hours, when my preferred vet is unavailable. For any major-emergency, I would drive to Fayetteville, GA, to the Southern Crescent Animal Emergency Clinic. It is more expensive, but I would place much more confidence in Southern Crescent, in the case of a major emergency where quick action is needed.

I have to say when I took my ferret in they were wonderful Dr Erica knew just what she was doing, but when I took my dog Sassy Marie in cause she was a diabetic and had been vomiting for a day was still walking when I took her in they told me she was in some problem with her diabetis. They told me she had to stay but they would call me. They never did I called them and the Dr said that she wasnt doing well that she could possibly have given her to much fluid but she would call me. I told her I jußt wanted Sassy to know I was there and I would come there but she said it was to busy. I didnt go and I will regret it for the rest of my life, the next morning when they opened I called to say I was on my way and after a few minutes of conversation the doctor told me Sassy had died, the most important lesson to be learned is dont ever let someone convince you they are too busy or they will call. I take full responsibility I should have just gone th3re no matter what anyone said. I missed saying goodbye toy dog of 9 years and I will live with that. But remember dont ever let anyone tell you something different.go to your animal no matter what they say. Its your animal and you are paying them. So if they are busy too bad. It may be your only way to say goodbye

They only care about the money, I brought my dying puppy that needed attention immediately and while I was trying to help the little guy they were just paying attention to the money. I grabbed my puppy and left after they made wait for 10 min helpless and came back and told me vet doctor wasnt even there. After that, the front desk lady ran out to the car and was trying to get my information or made me pay for what she thought we owe which was NOTHING, she asked me if they did anything to me and if they did she needed my information, and I said they didnt do anything and left very upset, I understand they are only doing their job but the should have more compassion for a dying puppy, I will never come back here ever again, and i will advice you to do the same. Same day I went to Lake down animal hospital and they took me right in and help me RIGHT AWAY, and after everything was settle and all, I gave them all my info and square the bill right away. These people do care about animals, so please go there. Forget about McDonough Money hospital.

McDonough Animal Hospital is nothing shy of AMAZING! Our sweet dog was bitten by a dog we rescued earlier in the week. She had bumped her wound opened on Saturday night and it was showing infection. So, we knew we had to take her to the vet the next day. We searched online for a good, local vet. They were one of the only local vets open on Sundays. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and were wonderful to our doggie. I meant to get the vet techs name but completely forgot. She was awesome though! She said she had many dogs and cats of her own. So, I knew Jazzy was in good hands. Also, Dr. Sara Smith is the one who saw Jazzy and was great with her as well. To boot, their pricing was very reasonable. We will definitely be using this vet again in the future.

Many animal hospitals have opened over the years that are closer but we will not consider anywhere else for our pets. Not only are they affordable but very dependable. Several years ago we had a pet that had a life threatening issue twice. Once after eating Deacon where she needed a blood transfusion and once after being snake bit. Both times the staff watched Lacey closely with frequent progress reports and treated her with the best of care. She was part of our family and was treated accordingly. Laurie H Covington, Ga

The staff here has treated 4 of my dogs, and they were absolutely wonderful! Today my friend had to put her cat of 16 years to sleep. The staff was so loving and the pregnant vet that assisted her made the whole situation so much easier because she was so compassionate. She truly treated her like she was her own pet, and its obvious that she loves her job! Thanks to the whole staff and i would highly recommend Mcdonough Animal Hospital to be used for your pet care.

The staff and doctors here are awesome. They are friendly, concerned, professional, and make our pets feel comfortable. They are open hours that best help the public. They have pets of their own and understand how important your pet is. I have gone to other Veterinarians in the area and found them competent. But this place is so far above them. If you are looking for a place that will treat your animals as if they were their own, this is the place for you.

I recommend you guys on Facebook and Next Door all the time! Dr. Sara was very thorough at Buddhas appointment. I tend to be very nervous and think the worst things first. She eased my mind and said that we will start with the simple things first. She treated Buddha (and me) with kindness and compassion. Thanks to all of you!

I took my Winter White hamster there today and had a wonderful experience! The doctor was wonderful with my little guy which showed she had a good amount of experience with hamsters. Definitely will be going back here if I ever need more animal help.
