I have been a Value Vet patron for nearly 8 years and have always had nice things to say about them. Unfortunately, this experience ruined my trend. My visit to the Gallatin Road location has me both irate and unnerved. My appointment was at 5pm. I arrived on time. I was greeted around 5:10 by a staff member - she was both disinterested and abrasive. It took nearly 15 minutes for the check in process and for us to be escorted to one of the 3 exam rooms. As I waited, I could hear the conversations going on in the rest of the building - the walls are like paper. I listened as the doctor walked another pet parent through a list of "necessary" procedures for her pet... and I quickly began to get nervous for her - and for me. The list seemed endless. After he finished with this customer, it became quickly apparent that he was in over his head. He had to ask each of his nursing staff how to log in to the system, document certain details, generate paperwork, etc. Then the doctor disappeared. It took well over 30 minutes before I saw him. At this point, we were nearing 6:00pm. I advised the doctor of my concerns for my pet and he did a basic check-up. During his check-up he specifically said, "This does NOT need to be done... or this, or this." He told me that my dog needed a routine teeth cleaning and then hed be fine. I encouraged him to take a second pass because over the past couple of weeks, Id noticed my dog slipping in and out of his typical behavior - usually very energetic, he had been acting rather distant, sleeping all day, hiding away in the bedroom instead of joining our family. The doctor took another 30-45 seconds to touch around on my dog, looked up and suggested "Rubella". He explained that rubella was a disease that affected the heart based on an infection and plaque of the teeth. It caused the heart to palpitate unusually, thus causing the dog to seem tired. 1. Keep in mind that the doctor did not start listening to his heart until right AS he brought this concept up. 2. When asked how to confirm this, he said, "We cant - we can just treat him with antibiotics and a cleaning." 3. After I got home and looked the disease up... its not even a disease that a dog can experience! The doctor left the room and told the nurse staff to book me for blood work and teeth cleaning - I assume because he didnt know how to do so himself. We arent done yet - it gets better. The nurse comes in with a projection of costs... $350+. $98 for bloodwork, $50 for antibiotics, $99 for the teeth cleaning, and a list of charges for pulling of teeth - despite the doctor telling me they had no need to pull anything. None of this added up or sounded right. I told the nurse I needed to think and get a second opinion - could she request a prescription be written, and wed go from there. She left to ask for the prescription to which I heard more conversation... "He wants a prescription written so he doesnt have to pay the $50 for his dog..." Another nurse: "Prescription for what?" First nurse: "For (name of medicine and dosage)" Second nurse: "Umm, they dont even offer a dosage like that for that medicine." To which she grabbed a medical book and showed nurse 1. All in all, I paid my $35 visit charge and RAN. This experience was absolutely horrendous!

I brought my puppy with extreme anxiety into Value Vet after trying EVERYTHING. My normal vet brushed me off, but I knew it was more than a behavioral issue. Value vet listened to my concerns and gave me honest and upfront information. They even talked to me about generic medication, which would NEVER happen at my other vet. The visit was so helpful without costing me my right arm. My dog is now on a medication that is reasonably priced. His anxiety is reduced without loosing his playfulness. I have never been so happy!! I will continue to see this vet!!!

Thank you so much, Value Vet, for your compassion and kindness. We were referred to Value Vet by a place called Loveys Legacy and we are so grateful to them and to Value Vet for saving our dogs life. Pearl was very, very sick when we took her in but by the grace of God the friendly staff at Value Vet knew just what to do for her and kept her from losing her life to the illness she had. I will never again take my pets anywhere else, we have found our steady veterinarian. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a low-cost but high-quality veterinary clinic.

I was slightly skeptical about this place from looking at the appearance of the building, but its a great example of why you shouldnt judge a book by its cover. I took my cat in yesterday because I thought he might have a UTI. I didnt have an appointment, but the staff were very friendly and were able to accommodate me. The vet was great and was straightforward about the facts and treatment options. Everyone was great with my cat. When I went to pay for everything, it was less than I expected. Will definitely be bringing both of my pets back here.

I dont ever write reviews but this is was an exception...just moved to the Nashville area with our 2 dogs and the dogs got fleas from the new place and Value Vet was what was closest to us. The vet tech and veterinarian were both great! Very informative, professional, and personable! the price was great too! Happy we found such a great doctor...never liked a veterinarian as much as him before!

The vets and staff here are great, and weve been taking our four small dogs and a cat here for years. Theyve handled everything from basic checkups, vaccinations, joint issues, tooth extractions, and even cancer surgery here, so they can do everything thats ever been asked of them. Theyre very affordable, too, and have been wonderful at each visit - use them with confidence!

After visiting this facility, I have determined that some of the tech are professional while others are very rude. I had an appointment here and showed up fifteen minutes prior to my scheduled appointment time, and another customer came in approximately ten or fifteen minutes after me, and was called back prior to me.
