I cant in good faith give any stars to this animal hospital like I would have in the past. However, apparently, I guess in order to post, I must. So, the one star goes to the receptionists, who answer the phone professionally. My 6 year old lab, who has had bad reactions in the past to her vaccinations was given a 3 year rabies shot. Yes, we agreed to it; however we were not told about ANY possibilities of side effects, reactions, etc. Had we been informed (even when we asked questions, we were told that there was "nothing to worry about") Although she was given a benydryl shot, as had worked in the past, the 3 year shot was too much for her system to handle. She had a severe reaction, broke out in hives and began having seizures (she also has a history of these, but normally just around the 4th of July when theres increased noise). She had runny stools, difficulty breathing - did I mention the hives that took over her entire body. Two vet trips, and several medications later, they continued to say that it was not a reaction to her shots as theyd "never had a dog have a reaction to a 3 year rabies vaccination before." Saturday night we came home and she was having trouble breathing. Mind you, this was 15 days since shed had her initial vaccinations. We immediately took her to the ER in Mokena (bless them) and they immediately recognized that she was having a reaction to her shots, which by the way can happen up to 30 days after having the vaccincations (something else we were told "no way."). I returned to the Crest Hill Animal Hospital to ask them why theyd given her a 3 year rabies shot, when clearly in her file (but apparently no one read it) it states that shes had such horrible reactions. Again, they stuck by that theyd never had an animal have a reaction to them before. I said that I was extremely disappointed that they did not at least inform us of the possibility that a reaction COULD have happened. Even on the pharmaceutical commercials on t.v. they say "side effects that COULD occur are..." doesnt mean that everyone will have them, but they are at least educating folks about the drug and what to look for just in case. I will never ever ever take another animal to this clinic. Some of the older doctors were understanding and compassionate, but the younger ones that are there now seem to be driven by the almighty dollar, which is a shame for the very animals that they took an oath to protect.

We have brought our two dogs here for the last 4 years. I find the staff to be excellent and I have not had an issue with any of the doctors. We found out that our Meskis had lymphoma. We did the one test, and decided that we would take him home to live out his days being loved and spoiled. The day we had to bring him in was very difficult. When we got there, a room was ready with a blanket on the table and a box of tissues. This was the first time we met Dr. Bray. He apologized for having to meet us under these circumstances. He was wonderful, told us that our decisions were the right ones, explained what he was going to do. It was a brutal thing to go through. A week later we received a sympathy card with Meskis foot print. What impressed me was that all the staff signed it. How thoughtful and how personal. 2 weeks later we brought our other dog in for an ear infection and shots. Dr. Bray again. He was great, explained why he pushes heartworm treatment for dogs. He showed me the infection in Muses ear. They do give you the medicine without giving up front prices, but as a pet owner, it is also my job to ask questions. This is my go to place for my dog and any in the future. I love that they send out e-mails and cards and reminders. Fabulous care.

Been going here for years.Over 16 to be exact. Multiple animals. Is it the very best vet clinic in the world? Well ...no! But it certainly is good. I have to admit that I have my favorite vets in the office and ones that I would rather not deal with. I never feel like I am being pushed into tests, etc. I am very much into holistic treatments and they are always willing to listen to what I plan to do that route and even mention a holistric vet that I take my pets to for extra care if need be. Wanted to make mention to the person who although it was 3 yrs ago mentioned their lab almost died from reaction to 3 yr rabies shot.... hate to tell you this but the 3 yr rabie shot is exactly the same as the 1 yr...just different paper work. And I have never ever found it to be dirty or smelly.

My 10 year old cat was diagnosed with terminal lymphoma in the fall of 2013. Dr. Saubert performed an exploratory surgery, removing a large mass from her intestines and inserting a feeding tube to give her the best chance possible. Dr. Ziesemer was constantly available with advice, there for MANY follow-ups, and in touch with the best pharmacies, medications, and treatments possible. Thanks to the teamwork of these two amazing veterinarians, my cat lived a happy and spoiled three months longer than even the doctors expected. And when it was time to say goodbye, the team was there to help and support me through. The veterinarians and staff at Crest Hill Animal hospital treat you as family, and treat your pets as they would their own!

Dr. Bray is absolutely outstanding. He has been caring for our sick Guinea Pig and has done an exceptional job. Emails and phone calls are promptly returned and the treatment that our little guy has received has been second to none. The office and exam rooms are always clean and the office staff is very friendly. Dr. Bray is very knowledgeable it and was clear, even after the first visit, that he is extremely passionate about his patients and is committed to providing the absolute best care possible. I would highly recommend him to anyone with a pet requiring care.

This will always be our go to vets office. The staff are all very kind , and informative . Our ferrets see the exotic Dr. Ronald Bray who is amazing , and our kitties see Dr. Katie . Every single time we go in , we are greeted personally by the receptionists , especially Penny. Shes so sweet and interacts with our animals. Having quite a few animals calls for frequent visits , but they are always able to give us a good price. This will be our favorite and official office until the day we no longer have animals.

I have to board my dog for the weekend and thought I would try this. I just dropped him off and was told a different price than when I made the appointment. And then they required a number of shots and refused to take him if he didnt have them. I was not told of all of these shots. How very unfair. Its too late to take him else - other boaders are closed now. Ill report back on his stay there when I return. Very poor communication and extremely high prices. Look elsewhere before using Crest Hill.
