I wish I could give 0 stars. Do not go here!! This place is awful. Everybody was rude and had a very hard time giving us answers to our questions. We brought our dog here only because he was attacked by an employees dog who worked at VES. HER NAME IS KARY. She said to bring our dog here, so she could look at him and take care of the charges. Once he was assessed and it was clear that he was in very bad shape, KARY brought us a bill for $3,000 just to keep him overnight and said that she was not able to cover it, she could only cover $1,000. So apparently we needed to come up with the other thousands of dollars for our sick dog. This first bill was only to cover the overnight stay to stabilize him, then to give him the surgery that he needed, it would be much more. They explained that another dog had come in recently with similar injuries and he did not make it after a week and they charged the owners over $10,000. These people were not willing to work with us at all, the manager refused to give us a discount on the fees since it was her employees dog that created the whole thing and they will NOT let you make payments. They have signs all over the place that say your full payment is due at the time of service. One of the other techs who work there, his name is JAVIER, came into the room at one point and got very combative with my husband and I. He got involved in the financial aspect where he should not have, and was very rude to us at a difficult time. HE IS AWFUL. AWFUL!!! The only one who was decent was the Veterinarian, and she still couldnt give us very many answers. Ultimately we had to put our dog down, a member of our family. We had to say goodbye. We did not want him to suffer and go through everything he had to, and still live a tough life if he made it through the surgery. This has been a very difficult time and VES has left a terrible impression. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT GO HERE. There are many more emergency vets in the area that will actually care and be compassionate and help you make payments if needed. Not to mention, you will not have to go into the ghetto to get to them as well, unlike VES. You should all be ashamed of yourselves, especially you KARY and JAVIER. Grow some compassion and act like human beings.

I think these people are total crooks. I have a young dog who didnt eat for a couple days and was a little lethargic. I called to make an apt stating it was NOT an emergency. guy said $55 to walk in door, which is more than reg. vets but theyre close to me so I said ok and made apt for next morning. Next morning dog was much improved, tail wagging, regular energy. Took her in anyway, vet spent one minute looking at her and wanted to do a bunch of tests, including one for parvo (VERY expensive just for that test alone. ) Hello?!? Ive seen dogs with parvo, they sure dont walk around all happy like my dog was. So they give me a printout of all these tests they want to do and it comes to $750.00!! just to rule stuff out! I said, what the hell? are you crazy? I said, look at this dog! She acted like she didnt feel well yesterday, but today she seems fine, she obviously doesnt have parvo, and you want me to spend $750 for nothing. I know dogs cant talk (which they felt compelled to point out to me) but youre supposed to know something about what youre doing in caring for animals without being able to actually talk to them. I said no, im leaving, and to top it off, they charged me $65, not the $55 the guy told me on the phone. $65 to spend one minute with my dog and do absolutely nothing. Thieves! I paid it and told them I would never come back there again, and I never will. Total rip-off. That was actually several months ago, and btw, after I took my dog home, she was totally fine and ate normally again and shes been fine ever since

This is the worst place I have ever been they have no compassion for the owners or the animals. Their bottom line is the almighty dollar. I would not recomend this place to an ailen they would probably kill them. My puppy who was ten weeks old just died because these so called animal lovers. People that should care for what they are doing refused to do more than just the exam and they would not even do that unless I had 65 dollars first. They are the worst people I have ever seen that call themselves vets. It is for emergency help and they took her temp told me she had a fever which I had already told them she did. Then because I did not have 1500 hundred dollars refused to help her. Told me that she probably would not survive until morning and when I asked what I needed to do to help her. They told me that I could euthanize her. WOW! There is compasion your at an emergency hospital asking for help and they tell you that you can put her to sleep because we wont help unless you have 1500 dollars up front. What a sad world we live in when you can not get help for something you love. I would not take my dog there even of it were dying, oh wait I did and she died because of there greed for the almighty dollar. I would say that if you want to get help for your furbaby do not go there. I give them a - 10 stars and a million thumbs down. Care about animals whatever.

My dog got hit by a car and this is one of three places open after hours in Fresno. They were good about getting my dog Shadow into the clinic at 8pm, but thats where it stopped. We didnt see our dog for the rest of the night. First thing though, they asked for over $1000 to "run all the tests". I guess you cant pull up in a german car without the service provider seeing $$$ signs. They messed around for four hours and at 12:30am finally told us my dog had a broken hind leg and there was nothing they could do, I needed to find another Vet that could fix the leg. They kept my dog for the night so she could be sedated and assured me the $1000 covered everything until I picked up the dog next morning. BIG surprise when i did go to get the dog though: A different person had not heard that story and asked me to fork over another $600 in order to pick up the dog. I finally did, so my dog could get treated at Clovis Vet. Clovis Vet Hospital had the dog for 48 hours, operated to insert plates and screws into the leg and total for all that was $1500. 48 hours + operation = less money than the 15 hour stay at VES My recommendation - if you have an emergency - get the minimum but wait to get a professional for real medical care.
