My husband has an exam about 2 weeks ago, which went fine! Doctors are nice and no problems with getting help picking his glasses out. But the waiting process for them is a different story. He was given a promise date that they would be in by and werent, so he called to check the status of them, and the lady who answered the phone was very rude and smart acting. She told him if he didnt get a text then why is he calling obviously they arent in. He went on to ask her why he was given a promise date if they cant keep the promise and she was rude answering that too. Finally got a text stating that the glasses were in 10 minutes before they closed, so we went the next day to pick them up. As she knew who he was because she was the rude lady answering the phone, she told him to put them on, and that was it! Wouldnt clean them, he told her they need tightened on the sides and she said what do you want me to do? I his wife have worn glasses for 20 years and know thats not how glasses fitting is supposed to go! Very rude, all front desk employees dont greet you they just stare at you like your from another planet. Dont recommend this eye place unless you LOVE rude people!

Exam: This facility has only very recently changed from Allegheny Optical. Very friendly and capable staff. Beware they have a "new procedure" they offer which is a type of camera. After some diligent questioning on my part, it was eventually explained to me that the procedure is optional and it is not 100% covered by my insurance plan. I took away one star for the way this was handled. Eyewear: Gorgeous selection of designer eyewear. I intend to return when I can take my time and make some selections. That said, rumor has it that their prices are considerably higher on both eyewear and exams than Allegany Optical was. I cannot say if this is accurate, but it does give me pause and I will certainly make an effort to shop around. On that note, you have to ask for your prescription and the attendant seemed a bit taken aback by my request. Back in the day you were handed your prescription as a normal course of business. There was no asking then being required to wait the 5 min or so for them to provide you with it. I took away another star for that.

This place is a joke. Every time I call to confirm a app. or make one I get transfered around and put on hold for atleast 10 minutes. No one told me or my husband that we could not have contacts sold to us a year after our exam. (or insurance only covers two years) So when we were out we were out of luck. We have been going to this place for 10 years my daugther has had the same insurance, go down to get a exmanation and they want us to pay out of pocket because her insurance is no longer compatable. I made this apt. one month in advance and we live over a hour away. They couldny have let me know? Never coming back!

So i have been taking my daughter to Alleghany for two year. She is 6 now. So made a decision to get a second opinion because her eye sight is bad and had a feeling something wasnt right. So today I leave the new eye doctor in tears because they did not give her the proper eye care she needed. So now my daughter will start 1st grade Monday and has to wear a eye patch 24/7 for 7 weeks. If this would of been taken care of two years ago this would not be happening. And for my eye doctor they have the rudest employees. So I would not recommend going here especially if you have a younger child.

Same Drs from Alleghany optical which is good but eyewear side was much different. Glasses are all expensive...and lied to about pricing of both glasses and contacts. Myeyedr ruined Alleghany optical. Been going to them since high school (now 46). Too bad.

Told me a ridiculous high cost for contacts, then when I insisted I would not purchase from them but would buy online they admitted to price matching. Never going back.
