My appt wasnt scheduled until about 6 weeks out, as other reviewers said might happen. When I got to the office, I went from spending 10 minutes in the waiting room to spending 20 minutes waiting on Dr. Nasir in a patients room (this makes NO sense at all - I should have been called in WHEN the doctor was ready to see me). Anyhow, saw the doctor about an incredible break-out of acne on my face - my face went from being clear to to infested with pimples and dark spots in a matter of days. Dr. Nasir could NOT tell me why it happened. He said "Moles," (the dark spots), "and pimples come with age"... this was his explanation. In conclusion, he could not tell me why my face was breaking out because he did not know. Most doctors are trained to treat symptoms - write prescriptions for medication to make the symptoms go away. They are not trained on the complex connectedness of our internal system. Dr. Nasir DID NOT ask me about my daily diet or any food or drink I recently incorporated into my routine... NOTHING about what I eat or drink. I dont even think he cared. Judging from the other patients in the waiting room, Dr. Nasir does nothing but write prescriptions for elderly patients with VERY COMMON skin disorders (eczema, psoriasis, rosacea... and I seriously doubt he cures or heals... he only TREATS symptoms). Anyhow, he prescribed Defferin for... which my insurance company will not pay for... and costs me $200.00. Im not spending $200.00 on a cosmetic issue. So this appt was a waste of money and time (I paid out of pocket b/c Wake Dermatology does not accept my BCBSNC insurance plan). Wake Dermatology and Dr. Nasir is just the best of a HORRIBLE situation. Theyve got the better online reviews out of all other dermatologists in the area but that still isnt saying much. Like Ive said in many other reviews of quack doctors in the Triangle area - do not rely on them. They are a waste of time, have VERY limited knowledge of their field, they do not really care for your health. Theyre MEDIOCRE. NO ONE will take better care of yourself than YOU! So lets stay away from processed foods and out of fast food restaurants so that we dont have to rely on these quack doctors. The american health care system is a scam and only set up to take your money and watch you get sick and die in the process.

After battling with what I thought is poison ivy on my body, and after being referred to DUKE, someone suggested I see a dermatologist. I searched and found Wake Derm. Assoc. and read all your reviews. Called for appt. and was quickly set up for 2 wks. from yesterday, but since I was in such pain and itching, etc...., she searched for any possible openings to have me seen earlier than 2 wks. She set me up with Samantha Conner! Yep, your description of her interaction with a patient is right ON. Nicest, professional, experienced, well, I will be happy to return to this office for future skin problems. I had a mole above left eye that had grown and was so ugly on my face, and before you could say, will it hurt, she had removed the ugly mole. The mole was not primary reason for the visit, but she had no problem taking care of it. Excellent office and personnel!!!

Dr. Nasir is awesome! I took my 7 year old son to see doctor about getting warts removed he spent time listened answered questions explain things then made recommendations and asked if theres anything else he can help with. Truly good experience. The waiting room is really nice the only downside is sort of a weird check in like theres two windows for the second Windows behind the door. As for the rude reception staff turns out one store New York and Northerners are just generally rude. Not in a mean way I just get down to business which is opposite of how the South likes you business. Also parkings deck is weird as after you park you have to take the elevator to the main floor then walk outside down the pathway to go to the building to use the other elevator go to the 4th floor. Highly recommend dr. Nasir

Sadly, I cant write a review about my experience in the office, as I never made it past making an appointment. I am new to Raleigh and needed a refill of an acne cream. I called Wake and spoke to a very cold receptionist who informed me that the earliest new patient appointment was in six weeks. I scheduled and had to call back to move my appointment because of a work trip. I explained how I really needed to get in, and could they do anything sooner. I was given a curt "there are no earlier appointments." I ended up canceling and trying a smaller practice. I havent been yet but Dr. Abernethys office staff was so kind and got me right on the schedule. Also, Blue Ridge Dermatology is just as cold/insensitive. If you want to be a number, go to these places.

So reading the negative comments about this place I didnt think that they were so bad. What doctors doesnt have scheduled lunch hours, they are allowed to do that. Not having a website isnt necessarily an epic fail for me either, however their customer service needs improvement. I just called to schedule an appointment, the receptionist lady was rude and didnt introduce herself; her tone was very cold and emotionless. Flat out told me the next available appointment was 2.5 months wouldnt ask about what the appointment was for nothing or what condition I was in and just hung up really fast. Very bad receptionist can really hurt a business because they are the first person you encounter and can drive away actual good loyal paying customers.

These have got to be the rudest people in any office ever. They actually close the whole office during lunch. The voice mail (that doesnt work for any purpose) clearly states that they are closed from 12:30-1:00. Yet I have called from 12:00-1:30 with no answer. I followed directions to actually get to a voice mail box and I just got hung up on over and over again. So I ignored the directions and just hit zero and after waiting for something to happen for 5 minutes someone answered told me they were eating and hung up before I could say a word. Finally I mastered their voice mail system after a mere hour and someone did call me back and was nice. If health care is this poor now imagine what obama care will do to make it even worse.

I was very apprehensive about going here with the reviews. Amazing experience. Hands down excellent. My first impression at the front desk was stellar. The reseptionist was friendly and efficient. I was an hour early and they took me in immediately. The medical assistant was very informative, smart and put my worries at ease. Dr. Kirk was awesome. Her presence was calming. She spoke to me as if she was talking to a friend. I wound up having a small procedure. It was efficient, pain free and was executed wonderfully. I am in the healthcare field and was very impressed. If your looking for a dermatologist or whatever skin issues your having I must insist you come here.

Dr. Nasir is literally THE BEST! I am a "woman of color". My condition including flaking skin on my face and black marks that seemed to never go away. Dr. Nasir explained the condition to me (dermatosis) and prescribe both a cream for my face and an oil treatment for my scalp. The cream WORKED WONDERS!!!! Not only did it dry up the flaking skin within 2-3 days but it also completely reversed the black marks on my face. My skin looked better than it had in years. This Doctor is amazing. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for a dermatologist, especially people "of color".
