This isnt going to be a blind, rage-filled rant... just a statement of fact: My husband and I have been bringing our three cats to Banfield Secaucus for almost 8 years now but, unfortunately, after todays experience, will not be returning. We have seen this place go through a lot of "phases" over the years and experienced a range of customer service quality from excellent to "oh boy..." There was always an underlying feeling that my pets were going to be taken care of, however. Based on today, Im not sure thats the case any longer. After waiting over an hour to be seen, (for a pre-scheduled appointment) my cat and I were rushed in and out in under 10 minutes. The physician on duty looked terribly overworked, stressed and- I am convinced- would not have even known my pets name if he hadnt had a nurse by his side to read the chart. I had to tell him her age and critical health info, (this wasnt a new intake, mind you, but a patient of *8 years*). I want to stress that the doctor did not seem UNCARING, just... unable to retain much of anything after seeing an assembly line of animals for the past 3 hours. I dont blame him. Id be extremely punch drunk by that point as well. One receptionist at the desk was as friendly as possible, given the stream of complaints I could almost guarantee shed been facing. The other receptionist offered us a bottle of water, but when I asked how much longer (our wait was up to 45 minutes by that point) I was essentially told she had no idea. The level to which they seemed to be understaffed was painfully clear at that point. I sincerely hope someone in charge evaluates staffing and customer experience soon and makes some major changes. I dont lightly leave any place with which I have a longstanding relationship, but at this point, my four-footed familys health has to take priority.

If you love your pet please avoid at all costs. Took my cat there two weeks ago for a UTI we saw Dr. Mui Douglas she was more concerned about telling us about how she takes care of her cats then actually taking care of mine. The receptionist is cold and look at your pet as another dollar sign. We brought him back yesterday because he was unable to urinate and the Dr yousef told us he was blocked and needed a catheter immediately. We had already paid $123 the first visit and another $43 the second and thats with the garbage insurance they have. Then yesterday we had to pay $853 for the catheter. Woke up at 4am to him in pain and the catheter no longer filling. So me and my wife rushed him to Oradell Animal Hospital. They told us the catheter had a kink in it thats why it wasnt draining an more. Paid them $170 for an emergency visit left to go back to banfield decided I dont want to deal with them anymore turned back to Oradell and made another visit. They saw him told us everything we needed to do to help him get better. They didnt charge us for the second visit and the DR. removed his stich es and IV and gave us a medication to give him that cost $23. So if you dont really care about your pet take them to the puppy mill vet but if you do care go to a real vet wether its Oradell or any other vet office.

I been a customer of Banfield Hospital for over 6 years, my pet Ginger is been going to this Hospital since she was a puppy, but lately does not fill my expectations. Sherly, one of the girls that works there, does not even take the time to squeeze ginger in , as its not feeling well, I guess she does not understand that a pet to most people is like our own kids, and if ginger does not feel well, the last thing i want to hear is that you can not see her until the following week. there is a reason why I pay for insurance! and adding that I never bring ginger in, unless she has vaccines, so for them to say that they cant make an expectation is not acceptable. what kind of customer service is that? this is a Hospital for Pets, if they not feeling well this is where you take them right, I have two kids and if they dont feel well for any reason their doctor see them ASAP!!! People who worked at this place before were way better on taking care of the pets...if you not an Animal lover you should not be there.

The worst experience I ever had.. My 5 month cat was taking inside telling me they were going to weight him again, without me they attempted to take him out the carrier without me.. I heard him screaming and they came out telling me he was aggressive. he was bleeding from his mouth ..and the vet which I had never met cause she never came out and introduce herself, told me he was biting a blanket and one of his baby molars came out. they didnt care about my cat or me.. she only told me they will not take care of him because It was against hospital policy to care for AGRESSIVE PETS. (I had taken my kitten to other Vets and he never reacted that way .. and he is up to date with his vaccines) I dont even know what happen on the other side of the wall ... he had to came out with two leashes around his neck, full of blood .. as I was leaving I went back in and asked.. what should I give him for the pain or the bleeding .. and they say nothing ..

I took almost three hours waiting in her face and asks me hagk here? after that tells me we have checking the dog ! Why she dont told me that from the beginning, is the worst service of my life, playing with the health of my pet and my time as the receptionist very sitting doing nothing! should do something with these employees they are stealing money and abuse people do not come here I do not recommend this place is the worst I insistnot recommend this place is the worst

Not even worth 1 star. The vet techs have always been super nice but recently they lost a few doctors and now this place is such a nightmare. My dog had a serious eye infection and for 2 weeks i was trying to get a vet to see him but they kept telling me they were understaffed and not taking walk ins but if i wanted to wait until " sometime" in May they could accommodate us then.. mind you we have been patients of theirs for 4 years now. This is not my only complaint on this place but safe to say we are taking our fur baby elsewhere !

Scheduled an appointment for 5:00 got there at 4:45 and asked the guy if I should check in now. He said no and told me to wait until 5. I walked around the store for 15 minutes and went to check in at 5. By this time there were two other people there waiting that came after me. Waited there with my pup till 6:45. As the very last patients... Dont even know why I bothered waiting that long. I suggest going to the one in Union, they actually follow appointments there and the people are so much nicer.
