I went to Eyetique for my yearly exam, initially all I wanted was a new prescription for my contacts because my brand was discontinued. I recently got new insurance coverage and I wanted to see what I could get for my bang, so I agreed to look at glasses, and I found a pair I liked so I said I would order them too. Side note, I just worked a 12 hour night shift ending at 7:30am, and I took an hour nap and went to my appointment at 1pm so I was a little tired and loopy, and I told them this when I arrived to warn them. Blake, the sleezebag that he is talked me into getting really expensive lenses and I was tired as I said above and was like "ok why not, Ill have these glasses for like the next 6 or so years." So as I was walking home and talking to my husband, I realized that $400 is way-way too much money even for really nice glasses (basically the high res lenses, cause Im legally blind - I put half down because I do not like spending that kind of money). So I called back Eyetique, no lie 10 minutes after I left, and I told them that I wanted to hold off on the glasses, I dont need them. Well Blake told me that they were already ordered electronically and that they couldnt cancel the order because they were already being processed by my insurance company. I was taken aback by this because it was only 10 MINUTES!!!, since the order was placed and that there was no way that it was already processed. Well Blake said he would call my insurance company and see what he could do and call me back. Well I dont know what he did for 20 minutes, but he probably did not call my insurance company, but he did call me back and said that "there is nothing I can do, the order is already being processed." Then I told him that I did not want the glasses and what would he do about that. He then said that he could do that but first he would have to check with "the people upstairs," I was put on hold. Then he got back on the phone and told me that normally they would refund my money, however the lenses I ordered were custom made and they were the only ones in that the store cant keep. So I said "Im stuck with glasses that I dont want now?" Then he got smart with me and said "I just told you that they cant be canceled once the ordered has be submitted." Then apologized for being smart with me. I was still pleasant on the phone, thinking in my head that I will wear my glasses of shame for a very long time, because at this point I realized that I was SCAMMED! Blake then offered to credit $90 to my account (according to him this is the price difference of the next lens down from the ones I ordered). So I was like whatever, is that the best you can do? And then he had the audacity to ask me if there was anything else he could do to make me happy. At this point I was tired and sad. So I said no thank you. Well.... it dawned on me to call my insurance company myself since Blake told me that it was their fault that I couldnt cancel my glasses. SO I did. And I love Nedra of VBA, because she looked at it and basically laughed at me when I told her my dilema. She explained that "The LAB had NOT processed my data yet, and that my order can still be CANCELED." And this is why BLAKE IS A LIAR! I took Nedras name and extension number to give to Eyetique in case they gave me even more of a hassle about cancelling my order. But I didnt need it, because when I called back, Blake was busy with another customer, and a nice lady said "Not a problem we can cancel your order for you and just put the money towards your contacts." Easy as pie that time. The only reason I have to deal with Eyetique anymore is to get my prescription from them, I do not plan on getting my contacts from them unless I have to,. My husband is canceling his appointment for next week (and he really needs glasses). Blake blantantly lied to me SEVERAL TIMES, and that is unexcusable.

I went to Eyetique because it is located close to where I live. I went there for an eye exam and to get new glasses. The eye exam was fine; the doctor was very nice and did an excellent job. However, the process of getting new glasses did not go well. The salespeople persisted in showing me their more expensive frames without even asking about my budget. As a result, after spending a long time finding a pair that I liked, the glasses turned out to cost much more than I had anticipated. However, I bit the bullet and bought them anyway because I figure they will last me for a few years. It took a long time to get the glasses (about 3 weeks); they didnt have any good explanation for the delay. When I finally got them, the salesperson who helped adjust them (to make them fit me properly) was absolutely no help at all; her incompetence was striking. Given that they didnt fit, I went back a second time for adjustments; the salesperson (a different one) was in a rush, made a quick adjustment, then basically assumed everything was fine. It was not, so I went back a third time and finally got yet another different salesperson who did a half-decent job of adjusting the glasses so they fit me reasonably well, but I still had to make further adjustments at home. Its not like I have a weird-shaped nose or head or anything like that; in the past Ive had no problems whatsoever getting new glasses at other places. Anyway, the whole process was very anxiety-inducing -- anyone who wears glasses probably knows what it feels like when your glasses just dont fit properly; you constantly feel the glasses are resting unnaturally. With all these adjustments and associated anxiety, it was actually about 1.5 months before I started wearing my new glasses on a regular basis. Quite frankly, that fact alone is a sign of a bad eye-wear purchasing experience. I will never go to Eyetique again.

This is, without a doubt the worst eyecare center available. I made an appointment- and was charged 400+ dollars for the eye appointment and frames. I have insurance, however I was told I could either "Use my insurance, or use their sale price, but I couldnt use both." This is ridiculous. Ive never been to an eye doctor or purchased frames where I had to choose between a sale and my insurance allowance. After paying said ridiculous price, I came back to pick up my glasses. When trying them on- I could NOT see ANYTHING. I complained that I couldnt see with the script they gave me. The woman said the doctor may have transcribed the script numbers and I would need to make another appointment to fix the mistake. They fit me in the next week, and I saw the same doctor that "messed up my script." After explaining to her that I couldnt see with my new glasses (it was like looking through a glass bottle) I had to sit and listen to the doctor tell me that the script was CORRECT, and I just had to GET USED TO IT. What? Im telling you my vision is actually WORSE with my new glasses and youre telling me to basically get used to it? She refused to change the script, and Eyetique refused to refund me. I had to make an appointment with another doctor and pay for it out of pocket because my insurance benefits were used on eyetiques crappy services. I had the new doctor put my NEW script (which works by the way) into my eyetique Norman Child Frames. While my new script works great, the frames are horrible. Screws coming lose constantly and always breaking. Definately NOT work 300+ dollars. Overall, worst eye doctor I have ever gone to.
