Dr. Telega is the best doctor I have ever come under the care of. I drive an hour to get to her office and would drive longer if I had to. I was dealing with burning pain, eye soreness, dry feelings, etc for months. I tried everything. Three different eye doctors in my area, including one supposedly highly recommended ophthalmologist, were absolutely no help. I felt rushed and was told I didnt have any eye issues. These docs kept giving me sample eye drops, which did nothing. Reviews about Dr. Telega from here led me to her. After an extremely thorough exam, which included multiple parts that no other doctor had gone over, Dr. Telega used modern technology and pictures to guide me through each part of my eye and where the discomfort and inflammation was coming from: allergies. She explained in detail how eye inflammation works and why my problem continued with no relief. She set up an aggressive treatment plan, gave me homework, and brought me back a few weeks later. I have had significant improvement and the updated photos of my eyes in comparison to my initial photos confirmed this. I feel greatly optimistic about the continued plan after much previous frustration. Ive come to the conclusion that many eye doctors have had a basic routine they go through and have little to no continuing education. Their procedures and exams reflect the old decor of their office: outdated. Dr. Telegas office reflects her passion and up-to-date practice. She also listens, takes the necessary time, talks to you, responds to concerns, and keeps in touch. I can tell she loves what she does and isnt trying to produce an assembly line of co-pays. Shes genuinely concerned for her patients well-being. Shes also pretty darn cool. Heres to hoping she decides to become an MD so she can be my primary care doc, as well.

After years of not getting anywhere with dry eye "treatment," I had grown pretty cynical about eye doctors and was essentially treating myself and hoping for the best. "Why keep trying? Doctors are all the same." I tried one more time and found out that Dr. Telega is not the same. Whats the opposite of old school? Shes very new school, I guess. First of all she responded to my initial email with an invitation to talk on the phone. Shes friendly, approachable and very considerate, as is Janine out front. First appointment, she took plenty of time to just talk and ask questions and listen. Then she did a complete workup. I had tests that no one else had done. She also took some really cool photos so I could see exactly where my problem areas were. After trying to self-treat, I had ended up with reduced vision, a droopy lid and tons of inflammation. Just six weeks into Dr. Telegas treatment plan, there has been a remarkable improvement. My tear film, vision and lid are very close to normal again, and the inflammation is way, way down. I expect more improvement in the coming weeks. I drive over three hours to visit this practice. That says it all, really.

I emailed an appointment request on their website, including all information requested. I received an email offering me an appointment time that worked well. I responded to confirm that the time worked and give them the additional information they asked for. I never received a response. A week later, I emailed again to check on the appointment, and theyd given it to someone else! They had the nerve to say theyd called me for more information, which was a bold-faced lie. I even double-checked my call history. And why would they call when we were emailing anyway? Now Ive missed my window in the semester when I had time for an eye exam, and once I do have time again, Im definitely going with someone else.

I highly recommend Dr. Telega and her extremely professional staff. I went in for my eye exam and Dr. Telega was very patient and listened to the concerns that I had about my eye. She then proceeded to completely explain the steps she she would go through for the exam. After the exam Dr.Telega took extra time to explain what my issues were and what they were caused by. She then recommended her solution and answered all the questions I had. I can already see so much clearer. If you need an excellent doctor then this is where to go.

Dr. Talega is phenomenal! Last year, I suddenly lost the ability to see clearly out of my eye. Dr. Talega not only spotted the problem immediately, but treated it promptly and effectively with heavy-duty antibiotics and a corneal graft. She and Janine were excellent through the whole ordeal, and made it possible for me not to miss an unavoidable work trip (even offering to come in early or stay late to see me). You only have two eyes - take care of them with Dr. Talega!

This is a review of the customer service, as I was not seen by the doctor. Eye technician was abrupt and dismissive. The area where I was asked for my personal information (payment info, address and dob) was small making our conversation public to the two other customers/ patients in the room. This is not a good setup for a doctors office. Again, the technician may be good at her job, but she came across as brisk and unpleasant. A very bad first (and last) impression.

Dr. Telega is amazing. I was suffering from severe headaches for months and after seeing several different doctors (including neurologists), only she could determine that the source of my problem was a misdiagnosed eye prescription by my previous optometrist. Her exams are incredibly thorough and her staff is well-trained and always helpful.

I was very pleased that I chose Shadyside Eye Associates as my new optometrist. Dr Telega was on time, addressed both my needs and wants and was very efficient. Janine did such a great job finding me eyeglasses that looked good on me. In fact, I ended up walking out with 2 pairs because I couldnt decide between them!

Rude lady at the front. Will never too back dont recommend it. Went in to get my eyes checked and needed to use restroom and I was told that walk ins arent aloud to use the bathroom. So I asked once I make any appointment can I use the restroom and she replied "yes".
