Deceptive salespeople. Throughout the whole process, they were blatantly misleading me about the costs and speed of service. First i was told that my insurance "should cover everything. And if not itd be a small amount". After everything was done my bill was $105. Not exactly a small amount. Then I was told that I had to make the purchase that day or else my insurance would not allow me to get glasses for another year. Turns out that was the only true part. But it wasnt until after the I read my insurance rules that I was afforded $100 in frames and the rest i had to pay. When i asked if other frames would be less, she told me id still owe $105, which was not true. So i spent my next two weeks grocery money on expensive frames I didnt need because my old frames had just broken and i did not want to risk not being able to afford glasses for another year. I went thru recently and saw dozens of frames for under my $100 insurance allowance. They also said on the phone before i went that id be able to get my glasses "really quick". I assumed that meant Lenscrafters quick, i.e in an hour or two. This part was important because I had just recently broken my frames and i needed new ones ASAP. They were not ready to pick up for a week. So for the next week i had to go around quasi-blind while i waited for glasses, when i could have just driven down the street and gotten them the next day. A lot went wrong here. I should have demanded real answers instead of vague promises like "soon" and "not much". But when i called I was at work and couldnt talk long. Im on medicaid and make minimum wage so while $105 was probally pocket money for these ladies, that was literally my grocery money for two weeks. I explained that to the saleswoman too as she was ringing me up and she gave me a look like "aww yeah...sorry...not my problem" when i asked if there was any way i could defer payment or pay half or do anything else. Like i said, im partly to blame for not asking enough questions. But so were the ladies here who intentionally mislead me on the phone about costs and what my options were for the insurance I had after I had already done the eye exam. Word of advice: dont tell someone their insurance covers it unless it actually does. When someone asks a question about costs, be up front that their could be some costs when it comes to frames. Sadly, this whole thing probally boiled down to good old fashioned American greed. I am guessing that the salespeople here make a commission off every pair of frames they sell. My guess its a percentage of the cost. So of course youd direct me to the nice, costly frames, and have me believe it was all good until the bill came. And then intentionally lie that there were no cheaper frames and that the cost would be the same no matter what frames I got. I get it. You make commissions off the customers. Except you knew i was on Medicaid, i.e. IM POOR! Next time you want to fleece somebody, fleece the yuppie moms and their young, professional off spring. Dont rip off the guy coming in after coming from work.

Charged 125.00 extra for clearshield AR because they were the only lense in stock and needed the glasses for my child that day asked for information on them they had no brochure pamphlet no info at all showed me the package they came in still no info. And on top of that only one of the four lenses had AR on them after arguing with this lady for an hour about not feeling comfortable about spending $125.00 on top of the $120 I am already spending on lenses not to mention the 70.00 for the glasses if i dont have any info on what I am getting. Her answer to that was look on our website She then walked off and screamed I need help over here. The manager finally got out her meeting asked what the problem was I said if I am paying for AR I want them to say AR she brought me four that said UV now they are all the same she says SMH I just said I am still not happy And then she said she can save me money with a 40% off coupon I said ok thanks price was 304.95 then the 40% coupon took it down to 250 yea yes that is not 40% 40% of 304.95 is 121.98 so the total should have been 182.97 not $250.00 asked how the math is so off she said that is just how it calculates the discount its never a true 40% thats just how the company works. What by overcharging customers for things they dont want or need then giving them a fake 40% off hoping the customer is bad at math not this guy just bad at grammer lol as you can see then after another 40 min they re entered the coupon and this time the total came down to $212.00 I SMH again and get this they treated me like I was the crazy one I asked the manager to just discount the AR because its not my fault the ones with no coating is not in stock why should I be punished for your lack of inventory she said she would never give me a discount when they have coupons and bogos lol that dont work in the customers favor SMH again had enough and said give me the 304.95 glasses with the bogo and put the other 2 to insurance. And if you have gateway or any Davis vision plan for your kids only get the poly without AR when you add anything they no longer pay for your glasses in full they only pay 40 to each pair it would have been 220 out of pocket with insurance if I got the AR 0.00 without it need glasses in an hour be ready to spend extra on AR coating plus I asked if it was a coating and the lady said it was made in the lense I think she got the AR confused with UV protection think that is why they brought out the lenses with UV instead of AR. I then asked the manager the same question, and she said the AR was a coating. my experience was like being on a car lot with inexperienced car salesmen they must get commission.Today looking at my kids glasses they suge very easy the AR coating looks horrible on one pair looks like its only in the middle the other is ok so far. I paid an extra 4 dollars for my AR and it looks way better then this Clearshield AR from Visionworks they did not want to give me my kids prescription with the glasses had to ask for it and refused to give me the PD

I Have been to this location twice in the matter of four days. All i wanted was to order contacts so i could have them for my birthsay next week. Having an appointment for both days I came in. Sunday I arrived, and they claimed that my insurance was no longer valid. I and my father both called and everything is to be covered and we are insured. So then they tell me I need to come back on the fifth.. okay, no fret. I scheduled another time. I leave early from work today to make my appointment on time. I walk in and Im rudely greeted and get told to just have a seat as she points to the back and "hopefully someone will realize that Im back there and can start my paperwork." The employee doesnt ask for my information or anything. Once someone finally gives me the recognition, we walk back up to the counter. And not even a two minutes pass, and once again they say Im not valid. As if I was a nuisance to her at the time; she gives me a paper and reluctantly says "sorry" and pushes me out of the store. Mind you, i called my insurance company as soon as i got to my car, and everything is valid and up to date!! Now, i have no idea what is going on with this situation. I have found proof for myself That im insured!! The employee looking at my information said that it can be their system not pulling it through, "or just something awkward or whatever." The only thing she asked of me was if I wanted to make another appointment. No, I do not. I dont have the time to keep leaving my job early to the nonsense. All i wanted to do is get an eye exam and order contacts. The employees in the Monroeville make you feel like youre a bothersome, and that everything is a joke. This wouldnt be the first time I had a problem at a visionworks. The only reason I gave them a second chance is because I work in Pittsburgh, and I need an appointment that I can schedule for the evenings. After the experience I had yet again, Im going to find somewhere else that makes you feel more welcome. This is my first public complaint about any place I have ever visited. Ive worked in retail and Ive heard and seen a lot of things. One thing I was always reminded of was not never make the customer feel uncomfortable or a nuisance.
