There is some weird stuff going on here with payment. I went in 1/30 I was told I needed a crown and fillings and that the cost would be $1450 for the crown (off the bat, that is one of the highest prices anyone in my family has ever seen for a crown) and that my insurance covers 50%....however there was no pre-authorization and my mom who has the same insurance was always covered for 60% with crowns and was always given a pre-auth through the insurance. I was told I should do the dental work the next day to "maximize my benefits" for the year, but thought to myself how are we maximizing my benefits with no pre-auth from the insurance? I felt like I was being rushed more for financial reasons than anything else. I asked the dentist about this and she got quite defensive, saying they do not do pre-authorization because it "wastes time" and when I told her that a few hundred dollars was important to me (I am in medical school, no income) she stated that "my health is more important" as though I do not care about my own health. She then tried to compare my dental issues to someone having symptoms of a heart attack and I immediately stopped her saying these two things are not the same. Our conversation was very unproductive and ended in me leaving that office. I will have someone review my x-rays and my prior dental work from this office as now I am concerned the many cavities I was told I had over a year ago may not have been as urgent as she made them seem, and that I was being rushed more for financial reasons than for "my health". Additionally, they called me several times a week (even after I asked them to stop), emailed me, and sent me letters weekly to come in for an appointment for MONTHS which is not only incredibly annoying but also seems more like an office that is highly in need of business (not a great sign). I would NOT recommend this office, find an office that cares about you as a person and a patient, not just as a source of income.

Dr. Boris had made me wish I had never used the internet to find a quality dentist. they got me a twelve month finance program to cover the three crowns that he made me believe that I needed. After 4 months every single crown that he said would be permenant all broke and he would not stand behind his work. When I returned to the office they would not assist with any recovery work unless I agreed to pay top dollar for the examination and temporary fix on every tooth that he had worked on. I must say I can not believe this guy is actually in business. I have been sufferring ever since. I also had to make payments for the next eight months for three teeth that were totally destroyed. I feel like never stopping this review because I have never been so pissed off in my entire life. The dental board jerked me around for two years with absolutely no assistance. I hope there is a way to put this guy out of business. He is dangerous. I have dental work from twenty plus years ago that is still in tact. totally disappointing to be brushed off by the dental board as well. They touched base with me and then just stopped when they came to the conclusion that the incident had been brushed away. Total let down. Stay away from Atlantis Dental if you value your teeth. There seems to be a problem with this system when you go to a medical facility and the result is a lower quality of life with Pseudo recorse (RE: The dental board).

My wife has never had many dentl problems and has always gone to the Dentist we switched to Atlantis Dental because of location. She got a cleaning there and her teeth hurt for 2 days she had to take Tylenol for the pain. They told her she needed 5 cavities and she was very suprised because the last dentist told her that tere was only one spot that they needed to keep an eye on. they also told her she had a problem with her gums and that she would need a special type of cleaning. In all they recommended very expensive treatments. they only offered a certain type of filling which are not covered by insurance. They wanted us to put a credit card on file instead of paying each time we. We got a second opinion and the new Dentist said that she only needed 1 filling and that there was no problem with her gums. I really think Atlantis Dental is about the money and not about the patient. We almost spent money and drilled my wifes teeth when it was not necessary. My wife and I will never go back there.

My husband went to this office after he was offered a $99 promotion which was to include X-Ray, cleaning and whitening. However, after he got there they tried to pressure him to get deep cleaning done and refused to do the basic cleaning or teeth whitening unless he agreed to pay $1,320 for deep cleaning. In the end they charged him $99 for doing nothing. Immediately after visiting Atlantis Dental he went to another very reputable dentist in town who, after a thorough exam, determined that he did not need a deep cleaning. UPDATE: The day after his visit my husband called and talked to the office Manager to express his disappointment with Atlantis Dental. She was very courteous and understanding and offered to promptly process a refund for the amount they had charged him.

Have you ever been to a dentist for a cleaning, only to be told that they WONT clean your teeth, and that you need to pay up front for two, special, deep cleanings? I actually did pay up front, and came to my senses when I arrived home and called them back for a refund. They proceeded to send me both paper and digital mail every week, perhaps more than any service Ive ever subscribed to. And then I went back to my old dentist in Boston who said my teeth were fine. Based on the great contrast in reviews, I assume that they randomly targeted certain clients to treat this way so that other visitors never find out about it. My story is real.

I normally do not take the time to write a review of this type but I had such a great experiance at Atlantis Dental last week I thought everyone should know about it. I had recently switched dental offices due to change in insurance companies at my work. So my first appointment was last week. The staff was very kind and answered all the questions I had regarding insurance. The office decor is amazing with a great big flat screen TV in the waiting area. My cleaning was fast and my mouth felt so clean and refreshing after I didnt want to eat any food haha. I highly recommend Atlantis Dental to anyone in the area. -Kevin
