Inpatient services only (outpatient services at other locations). Intake around right side of building. 24 hours, bed availability matters, can be full sometimes. Pretty good services & care & staff & facilities (better than some other local hospitals). Made somewhat compact, yet has open spaces & enclosed outdoor areas. 4 units, Unit A, EPU (Emergency Psychiatric Unit). (ICU type, most secure, safe, & restricted.) Units C & D, crisis units. More open, many more activities, therapies, groups. (Unit B also EPU? Not sure if in active service now, was closed down when I was there.) All units locked, usual policy is you cant leave during hospital stay, until discharged (except for doctor authorized treatments at other health facilities). This is county / govt provided. Mainly for people who qualify, low income, or no health insurance or coverage by other services. Usually if you do not qualify, they will find your current health coverage & transfer you to where youre covered. Suggest knowing where you prefer to go, & request. For safety, there are many things you cant have inside (common in hospitals). Nice have hosital "friendly" (allowed) versions of items, like shoes, coat/sweater, notebook/journal. I recommend having notebook/journal or info on paper, prepared with vital info for reference; including contacts & health related (meds, conditions, diagnoses, known health history). You can request things you may need, they may have something. Including notebook/journal.

first off, i was told Id go and be perscribed something for my anxiety... i get there they say i need a 24 hour hold because im feeling suicidal... 24 hours later they tell me that i need to be supervised for the medication im taking and will be a 48 hour hold. I dont recall this being the procedure to be perscribed something. They want ur money. theres a bunch of real life crazy people in there. dont go.

Upon coming here I quickly realized that the demographic served here is primarily homeless people. I came in for a simple problem and after waiting about 3 hours I was told they wouldnt be able to assist me. Horrible experience. Dont waste your time.
