My husband was taken there by ambulance at night for severe abdominal pain. 40 mins later I was told to go back to see him, went back to the emergency area and heard him SCREAMING out that he is pain and cold. Got to his bed and he is laying there in only his boxers, no blanket, no sheet, no covers on him (in a room that felt very very cold to me, much less him who is ill), the nurse started then (after 40 mins), to give him pain medicine in his IV. The charge nurse, and doctor came over to tell him to stop yelling. The charge nurse told my husband that she is going to put me outside if he did not stop yelling. By this time my husband is crying from his pain, begging me to help him with the look in his eyes. I did not want to leave his side, and was very afraid that they will send me outside so I tried to comfort him. The nurse told me that he is starting to give him his medicine, and Im thinking after 40 mins???. They sent him home once he was calm from the medicine, and claimed that did not find anything wrong with him. I asked my husband the next day what happened back there before I came, and he told me that they were trying to get the "machine" to work and they couldnt. I thought WHAT??, I thought that was an emergency room. I had to take my husband to ARMC a day later because he was still in pain. They admitted him right away. He had to have his gallbladder removed. Docs at arrowhead said that" it was one of the most severe cases that they had seen", and that my husband was a "very sick man". He had to have the surgery the next day. Earlier than they had planned becuase he was in SO much pain. They never had to put any patient in ICU for gallbladder surgery before. My husband was in ICU for 3 days, a total of 5 days at ARMC hospital thanks to St Bernardines hospital. Made a complaint with St Bernardines hospital, and they sent a letter stating that their findings found that they did nothing wrong. Go figure. With care like that, we might as well have stayed home to die. I will tell our story to every city and state official. I do not know up to now, how St. Bernardines hospital could look at my husband literally crying tears begging to die so that he could feel no more pain, pump him up with pain medicine and then say go home, there is nothing wrong with you. I will never EVER go there or take my husband there again, not EVER, no matter how ill we are!!!!!!! THANK YOU ARMC FOR SAVING MY HUSBAND!

ER St. Bernadine was the worst experience! August 25th 2016 in the morning between 7:30 am and 11:00 am. I was brought in by the gourney cause my wife called 911 for me because I had a sudden threshing needle, sticking, electricity pain shooting down the spine of my back that caused no movement out of me! This was a first for me. I couldnt believe the agony of that moment. Than it got worst when I was in the Emergency room! I wanted to smack that nurse that was dealing with me at the time. You know who you are! You RUDE UNPROFESSIONAL NONUNDERSTANDING THING! She practically kicked me out while I was in so much PAIN! She literally said " I need to hurry up and leave, because other people needs the bed." I was so upset especially when at that very moment I thought I was dying! She had to say that in that way at that time! I couldnt believe my ears. I didnt want to go anywhere until my pain went down a little at LEAST. I had an X-Ray done, was normal. My stats were normal. Im diabetic and they didnt really dwell on that. I guess the Doctor had me discharged but the way I was treated was very unfair and RIDICULOUS! That lady nurse even called security because she felt some type of way. Which shed probably going to lie and say she felt threatened, but if youd see the pain I was in and I hoped everybody in that ER or especially HER felt what I felt, they would understand more and treat me better. NOTE TO DOCTORS AND STAFF: Just because the X-RAYS and STATS and BLOOD TEST show NORMAL DOES NOT MEAN WE ARE NOT FEELING ANY KIND OF PAIN!!!! My Pain level was at an 11 at that time. I am still upset, I feel like taking this matter to ADMINISTRATION BOARD, file a COMPLAINT or something because ER lady was not right. She did not care how I was feeling, She should not be working there because Im sure she does that all the times and thats wrong. I should of been priority since I was gurneyed. Not a good experience. This is how upset I am I had to ask my wife to write this BECAUSE IM STILL IN PAIN! Shots and meds did not work! Never will I ever go back to ST. Bernadine Emergency Room again! I didnt even want to give this a star but had to so I can POST!

Why bother making the trip to the hospital emergency room when theres most likely a busy street much more nearby; Oh, unless of course youre already at the hospital for another unrelated purpose. In my case the exact scenario occurred. I was visiting my mother after her surgery when I started having an asthma attack. I have an asthma attack about as often as Haileys Comet passes by, so despite the fact that I should keep my rescue inhaler on me, I dont because it has never occurred to me that one day it just might save my life. I will be keeping it on me from now on. So while Im having my asthma attack a nurse comes in to give my mother a respirator of some sort to make sure her lungs stay oxygenated. My mother asked the nurse if it would help my asthma and the nurse said of course but she couldnt give it to me. Instead I had to go to the ER. I had to leave my mothers room leave the building, walk around the corner, and go into the ER lobby which was surprisingly empty. After waiting what felt like an eternity as the clerk asked the man in front of me how to spell his name eight times, I finally made it to the front of the line. At this point I had my insurance card and was ready to go because at this point Im about to fall over at any moment. Despite being in obvious agony the clerk retreated to his cubicle in plain sight of any waiting customers and chose to ignore me. After God knows how long I finally gave up and stumbled outside, past 3 ambulances and crew members standing around and slumped next to a palm tree. I hacked up half a lungs worth of mucus and gathered enough oxygen to make it back to my car and somehow managed to drive back to the comfort of my own home. Thank God the freeway was clear that day and thank God I was able to clear up on my own, because all that was needed was for me to pass out behind the wheel and slam into something causing me to be sent to the ER where I would most certainly die while waiting for the incompetent clerk to finally figure out how to spell the name of the man that was standing before me.
