Some of the best and smartest physicians practice here. It is an honor to have the opportunity to consult with them. Im honored. I respect doctors for their education, for all the help they provide their patients, and for their willingness to prepare the next generation to do the same. I DO NOT RECOGNIZE UCSD AS A HEALTHCARE INSTITUTION. Its a joke. Nihilists. Every one of them. Everyone of them besides a select group of physicians are only interested in a paycheck. In my 2.5 years experience in working with them I can only conclude as much. Dont give them a chance. Do not trust your health to these people. They dont care if your not healthy, if you need help, if your in pain, not even if your knocking on deaths door. You can get on your hands and knees and beg with tears in yours eyes and theyll still treat you like scum. Especially if youre are a white male. Everytime I go there Im shocked there isnt a roaring fire, there isnt a riot and that the building hasnt burned to the ground. Its only a matter of time really. Because if there was a little ember somewhere NONE OF THEM would take the two seconds to just step on it. They would only tilt there chins up and say "thats not my problem, let someone else take care of it." Here, in the cavernous depths of ethical ignorance they dont care. They treat patients like trash. Every one is lying, youd be hard pressed to get them to tell you their real name. Its amazing that theyve lasted this long. Here in San Diego, there are other options. Try Scripps, sharp, Kaiser. Im not going there anymore, and I warn anyone to who considers giving them a chance. Shame on UCSD.

Welcome to UCSD! Where the nurses are absolutely THE RUDEST and MOST UNEMPATHETIC OF ANY hospital I have ever been to in my entire life. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have dealt with UCSD they act like the patients a massive burden. I cant help but ask myself why the hell you would get into a field that specifically focuses on the well-being of people when you only make them feel worse. Dont bother asking them a damn question that requires as little as a quick phone call because 1. You wont get the answer. 2. When you ask again be prepared to be treated like you just murdered their child. Also be prepared to be given 10 different answers from 10 different people and inadvertently starting an argument because of your frustration. Avoid avoid avoid

Ive been to this hospital twice within the last six months and every time I go, the staff goes above and beyond...to be the worst hospital Ive ever been to; and I spent a month in L.A. county!! Unprofessional in every sense, its like a frat house with an O.R. Bedside manner: non exsitant. I would have been better received had I been a cockroach, rather than a patient. Right now at this very moment, I am writing this review in the middle of a very busy corridor BECAUSE THATS WHERE THEY PUT MY BED!! Hippa is worthless when you are receiving care in front of an audience of people and the doctor is yelling out the status of your bowels and personal fears. I just cant wait to experience what comes next...fml

Came in for suicide thoughts. I saw the Dr. for a few short minutes. Then a nurse came laughed and said okay get up and started escorting me to the door. I asked her was there no room in psych or at another hospital or even a crisis house? She laughed again and said "oh I dont know we didnt check." And left me outside the doors. I called my friend to take me home but Ive never felt so humiliated and treated so worthless for just asking for help like a Dr. from UCSD told me to do

Everything was checked and double checked. I felt like my preemie was in the best possible place he could be for treatment.

If youre not bleeding and on the verge of death, choose another ER. 6 hours average wait time.

Had this hospital been around in 79, I would not have been born at mercy.
