I am giving three stars because there is definitely room to improve with the care of my mom and the interaction with me and the family from the doctors and nurses. I was very impressed with the Doctor that my mom first saw when she got there and the quality of care and the passion he had to help heal her and find out the underline issues that are effecting my beloved mother . Dr. Hom is one of a kind and if you have the honor of him being your doctor while staying at Kindred or him being your loved ones doctor you will be Blessed. He is a Dr. of passion for his job and one of caring who has no problem keeping the family involved via phone in all he is doing. You know there is only two types of Doctors and Nurses in this world ones who truly love their job and truly care for the patient they are helping heal and go above and beyond to find what is best for their patient and ones who are in and out as fast as they can and dont care much except for the paycheck. Dr. Hom is the first type of doctor and they are hard to find in this world we live in. The Doctor who has taken over for Dr. Hom since he left has room to grow in interaction with family and with his patients as you will have to hound them to ask him to call you until he might call you but that did not even work because I still have not had a call from him.. Thus the reason of three stars instead of the 5 stars and I wont say his name to give him the benefit of the doubt .Most staff here are caring but not all are . Most staff are pleasant on the phone and others not so much . But it all comes around to the quality of care my mom should be receiving and that will be reviewed when she is better and I see first hand how compassionate they are here at Kindred hospital for the well being and the best care available for my beloved mom. So lets turn this 3 star into 5 stars and lets see the quality care you can Bless my mom with to get her 100% better and home faster and lets see her physical therapy stepped up to stand and walk and not just do the bare minimum to get by... It takes quality time , passion and honest caring for the person you are caring for to challenge them to get better faster and to see that they trust you to help them get better...So lets see it and lets see my mom be able to trust you to help her heal and get better... This is in no way a negative review but a challenge to see how good team Kindred really is in going above and beyond to help my beloved Mom get better and want to thrive

After two months in an ICU my wife transitioned to Kindred Hospital. The people there made all the difference for a highly productive stay. Our doctors where not just professionally engaged, they seemed personally interested in us. The nurses were attentive and very professional. The therapy teams made a huge difference. My wife arrived at Kindred hardly able to raise her head from the pillow and left four weeks later after taking six steps with the help of parallel bars. While I would not want to go into any hospital, should medical necessity dictate the need for a long term acute hospital for me or a family member, I would immediately think of Kindred Hospital of San Diego.

My son was in a transition from Acute care to rehab hospital. Kindred was the ideal location. They were very helpful in weaning him back to full health. This is not a top tier hospital with the associated costs. Very good patient care, Great Doctors, and good nurses. Like with any hospital now you need to have an advocate their to help out. I was impressed with the hospital and the costs were lower which is important for health care systems and insurers. Overall very pleased with care and outcome. We were not in the ICU just general ward.

Some nurses and cna s forgot the word care is in their profession just hope you dont get Dave or any taking care of you they tend to not care so much weekends are rough staff always changes

Awesome facility.. the staff and doctors are very professional and will give legit straight forward info. I have complete trust in the staff here. I highly recommend Kindred hospital.

My boyfriend has been there for four days now and his bedding has not been changed nor has his room or the bathroom been cleaned in any way!! There is NO excuse for this!!
