I began using Access P.T. in June 2010 when I fractured my wrist. I wanted a place nearby and chose Access from a long list without knowing what a fine facility it is. My sessions started with Dereck Steffe who is quite knowledgeable and informative. Dereck told me that my wrist would eventually become stronger than the left. At the time I was not believing this but Dereck was correct. It is stronger! In Sept. of 2010 I injured my lower back. Again I knew exactly where I was going for physical therapy. I was in terrible pain and had difficulty moving about but Dereck was very patient, gave me home exercises and treatments to strengthan this area, along with lots of helpful advice. Gradually I became more mobile and pain-free. Dereck explained the importance of stretching and how to properly pick up heavy items which is valuable information in itself. In Sept. of 2011 while at a dog training class I slipped on the rubber matting while gaiting my pup and went down hard on my knee which I fractured in two places along with pulled tendons. I was in a cast for a month, unable to bend the leg while hobbling around like the "tin man". The doctor said that when cast came off I would be very stiff and that he had a great place for me to do physical therapy. Ironically it turned out to be Access which I already knew I was going to. So here I am in Derecks healing hands again but improving everyday through his encouragement and patience in order to get me back to being able to show my dogs. Dereck knows this so is now focusing on this issue since I have made a huge improvement from when I first hobbled in to Access a month ago. If I dont have the confidence to do an exercise Dereck is right there to prove me wrong! When Dereck is not available I have had the pleasure of working with Angela and on occasion with Neil. Each one of these people always add their own personal touch for my treatment by diversifying instructions to give me the confidence to progress further along in order to reach my goal. I have passed these thoughts along to friends and neighbors who were unaware that there was such a facility in our town. I would not hesitate to recommend Access Physical Therapy of Armonk and the caring professional people that are attentive to ones concerns. A 5 Star rating for sure! Marilyn Z

My 14 year old daughter suffered from patellofemoral pain syndrome in both knees. She had to drop out of soccer, and couldn’t spend more than 10 minutes walking without experiencing great pain. She spent 4 months at a PT center based in Mt. Kisco, and they told us that they could not help her, she should cease treatment, and she would have to grow out of her condition. My friend recommended Access PT, and in particular the owner Neil. During our consult, even my daughter commented about how Neil focused not just on her knees but her hips, how she walked, and immediately recommended shoe inserts as a start; this was very different from our initial assessment at the other PT place. After about a month of treatment at Access, my daughter experienced significant relief from pain. During the next few months Neil and his attentive, skilled staff slowly worked up to soccer drills and strength training with her, both in the center and through home exercises. Neil was also attuned to her confidence issue/fear of re-injury, and was careful to address that as well during treatment. My daughter graduated from treatment several months ago, and has remained pain-free. And, to top it off, Neil actually phoned today to check up on her. Neil and his staff receive my highest recommendation. I only regret that we didn’t find them earlier so my daughter could have been pain free sooner. Access PT gets five gold stars!

I am an elementary school teacher and I finally had some long awaited foot surgery in July 2011. I was sure that I had left enough time so that I could be back on my feet by September and ready to meet my new students. Unfortunately, when I got off my crutches I found that walking again was no easy task. I really needed to hit the ground running and so I needed help fast. I have worked with Neil and Angela at Access PT for the last two months. They have given me the results and progress that I was hoping for. I have found them to be caring, encouraging and thoughtful professionals. They listen carefully to my concerns and they always keep my therapy goals in the forefront. Their combination of manipulation, exercise and at home practice has put me well on the road to recovery. Their kind manner and good humor always give me a lift, even when I am struggling to get to the next level of my workout. I began my school year limping along but after working with the folks at Access, my students have to run to keep up with me! I would recommend the professionals at AccessPT without any hesitation.

In May 2010, I suffered a fractured pelvis from a bicycle accident. After spending a week in the hospital, I began physical therapy at Access Physical Therapy and Wellness. Neil and Dereck were both friendly and knowledgeable. What impressed me most was their hands on approach to getting their patients on the road to recovery as quickly as possible. They performed the therapy not an assistant or intern. At each therapy session, both therapists kept notes and measured my progress. The exercised varied and increased in difficulty as I progressed. They emphasized the importance of following the exercise program that they had prescribed for me at home. Unlike other physical therapy centers Ive gone to in the past, Neil and Dereck were concerned that I performed the exercises in the correct manner. They also made themselves available via telephone or email if I had any questions. Within two and a half months I was swimming again and after 3 months nearly 100%. Much sooner than I had expected. I highly recommend Access to anyone needing physical therapy.

Looking for an excellent, top notch physical therapist? Look no further! Neil Chernick, at Access Physical Therapy and Wellness in Armonk, NY, is the one that will be able to get you feeling better again! I came to Neil with a severe type 3 ankle sprain as well as low back pain with mobility issues. Highly intelligent and knowledgeable, Neil has a multi-dimensional approach to diagnose and treat your injury or ailment. He takes the time to answer all of your questions, and explains everything he is doing so that you understand the reason behind the treatments. Neil is very positive, personable, and truly cares about you as a patient. Best of all, Neil gets the results you are looking for! Neil has helped me more than any other doctor or physical therapist to resolve my pain and mobility issues. I have been to many physical therapists before, none of whom come even close to Neil! No one is better than Neil Chernick!

On my Doctors recommendation, I traveled 20 miles to see Neil Chernick though there are many PT centers much closer to home. Access Armonk is a very welcoming office. Neil is an outstanding therapist - knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, warm. I was totally surprised and impressed that I was always treated exclusively by Neil, no PT assistants or students which is typical of other centers Ive attended. Neil alleviated my back pain ( due to scoliosis, stenosis, and osteoarthritis) through massage and exercise and gave me a home program to maintain good back health and provide strategies should I have a flare up. As both a patient and a health care professional (speech language pathologist), I feel confident in recommending Neil to anyone in need of physical rehabilitation.
