I came there for new lenses and it took over two months to have them done. Yes, it is annoying but I had my old glasses so I could wait. The problem I have with this place is about the final cost for my new lenses. Initially, they charged me for Varilux lenses, the most expansive brand on the market. I was explained that this was going to be a perfect match for my eyes. After several weeks of delays I finally got my new lenses but instead of Varilux I ended up getting Navigator, one of the cheapest brands! This time, I was explained that Navigator would work better for my eyes. Fine, not a problem but how about a price difference?! Varilux lenses with transition are $550 plus. Navigator lenses are $250. When I asked for a price adjustment, I was explained again and again that I got a great deal and there’s nothing they can do about it. Seriously??? I thought my neighbors should know about my experience before they decide to do business with this place. As someone else mentioned, if I was going to buy Toyota why should I get charged Mercedes-Benz price?

Giving them one star is too many, I have been a customer With them for over forty years. Purchased a pair of glasses with a year warranty and no less then five months the handle broke off. Brought them back was told that if they couldnt repair them that they would replace the frame for the same value. After six weeks they called to say that they were ready, when I received them they tried to melt the handle back on burning the lens , I called and spoke to Penny, he acted as if he was apploginic and said that he would work with me. Offered 15% off of a new frame. ( like really ) After the runaround I called and asked to speak to Richard after finding out who I was he was all of a suddenly busy. I will never use their service again ( nothing like when the old staff was there. ) if thats how they treat me after being a customer for over forty years I would hate to see how they treat a new customer.

I would definitely recommend Benjamin Optical to any and all my friends, family. Im from east Harlem and i walked all over my neighborhood looking for a good price on contacts and eye exam. What i found around my neighborhood was prices ranging from $125-$180 just for an eye exam for contacts, not even with the contacts. After google searching i came across Benjamin Optical and when i arrived there i was helped right away. The service is great, and the prices are amazing. I paid about $180 for my eye exam and contacts. Try this place out trust me you will not regret it. I will be a regular customer from now to forever. Thanks again Benjamin Optical, because of you and your staff i can see the world in HD. With love and sight Kevin L.

The customer service at Benjamin optical was fantastic. One of the young lady that works At the front desk stayed on the phone for an hour patiently waiting to get in contact with my insurance provider. Before Benjamin optical, I went to another place called Sight N Style. It was horrible. My glasses broke within the second week and they didnt have any records of my prescription. That place was very disorganized. When I came to Benjamin optical and saw how friendly and professional the employees were I felt confident that they were going to do a great job on my glasses and they did. I most definitely recommend Benjamin optical to anyone who needs glasses, and rate it with five star ⭐️

Terrible products and terrible customer service. Paid over 400 bucks for a pair of glasses-not including the price i paid for the insurance and didnt have them for a good two months before they broke. Have been waiting for a month to get glasses back from benjamin optical. Not only do they have poor quality products but the receptionists are rude and unprofessional. They hang up on you when they cant answer your questions or they tell you they will call you back with information and they never do. It seems that the manager or owner is never available when I ask to speak with him. I can not believe it takes a month to replace a pair of faulty glasses. Its been a nightmare!!!

Update:Is it fair to me that being charged $722.7 but get no glass??? I am so angry since they still reject to refund and showed no response to my complaint. They dont even care their reputation! I have never had such terrible experience in my life! It has been more than six months, and they still reject to refund me $722.7. I dont have my glass so far. and they say its not their obligation to refund. My problem is still unresolved and they reject to refund. So angry and upset! the worst place in the world! sell by force! once you place your order, they wont refund you for whatever reason!!! ridiculous! try it if you have nowhere to waste your money!

I was very disappointed. I regret going to this business. They do not honor their customers with security and safety. I had my $500 eyeglasses stolen while selecting my new glasses. I was in shock. I filed a police report. The company took no responsibility and told me while at their site it was my problem that someone would walk in the store and take my eyeglasses off of the counter.They could have at least offered a free pair of glasses or a discount on an extra pair. I only went to the store because my grandmother had gone there 40 years ago.

Went in for new glasses. Front desk folks were great! Super sweet and polite and werent trying to force me to buy things I didnt ask for. The salesgirl helping me took the time to pick out frames for me, and one by one decide if it were for me. She also checked my insurance and told me exactly what was covered and what wasnt. Great experience so far! Just waiting now 7-10 days for a call to go pick up my glasses. Yay!

Just visited Benjamin Optical for the first time. Scheduling an appointment was a breeze, as their hours are numerous compared to other offices. Dr. Steiminger was pleasant and professional . The staff was very friendly and informative. They have a great selection of frames. I would highly recommended Benjamin Optical for anyone in need of an eye exam, contacts, or any further eye-related care.

Me and my family have been with Benjamin Optical since I was a child in the early 90s and to this day the service is exceptional and the people are always helpful and succinct. Update: Owner did refund me after a few months for the contacts after we had a dispute. Im glad to finally be offered a resolution to my problem. Ill point out the strictly enforced no-refund policy at this store.

Came in and the staff was a pleasure to deal with. They had a great selection of frames and walked away getting a new Gucci frame. Love the new look of store. Will definitely be back again.
