6 weeks ago I got a eye infection and went to the free clinic for help. Ive been living abroad in Taiwan from 2014-2016 and thus do not have any health insurance in the USA. I think I got a bad case of eye infection from Sundance Kabuki theater in Japantown on that $6 movie Tuesday night! I was shedding tears watching La La Land and probably accidentally contaminated the tissue from wiping my tears but put it down in the cup holder (pretty dirty if you think about it). Dumb me. It was bad but luckily free clinic helped me by the 2nd day. Shouts out to the doctors and nurses over at the California street free clinic they were wonderful! I googled for free clinics in San Francisco and they came up. I made a phone call over explaining my situation and they were able to take me in on short notice literally I was seen by the caring staff with in 1 hour of calling!! Everyone was helpful and I was looked over by not 1 but THREE different doctors who wanted to make sure it wasnt going to be too bad. They gave me some prescription grade eye drops and wanted me back the very next day to make sure it didnt get worse. If it was, they were going to send me to an optometrist right away for even more hardcore treatment. Luckily the eye drop helped and the swelling was already not as bad the next morning and it simply got better by the day. I was fully healed with in a week. Im extremely grateful for their help and no doubt they are going great work. I would have imagine the free clinic would have older clientele but most of the patients I saw were actually all very young in their 20s and 30s. I was actually the older one at 40+ of age.

I came in with a knee injury, which had been healing with good progress for over a week. I really dont like having to give such a well-meaning place such a low review, but I was injured so badly by the nurse practitioner, squeezing forcefully in an area that Id previously experienced no pain in whatsoever, that I am now significantly worse than before the injury and can now barely stand. The doctor was present at the time, but evidently so busy demonstrating his vast knowledge of knee anatomy while describing symptoms that werent even mine, that he didnt seem to notice. The degree of negligence at this place is so egregious that it borders on comic, and I would be downright astonished if litigation has not already been attempted against it. My advice: apply for any kind of insurance you can get and avoid this one like the literal plague.

The level of unprofessionalism at this place is pitiful. I wouldnt trust any diagnosis from this facility, since even making an appointment seems to be confusing and difficult for them. And since when is it acceptable to have to discuss my reason for treatment with anyone other than the doctor or nurse. I certainly dont feel comfortable discussing it with the person who cant get my relatively simple name correct. Laughing to her cohort immediately afterward when I guess she thought she was behind a wall is simply disgraceful and you should be ashamed of yourself. You work at a free clinic, check your privilege. If you want to feel ashamed and have bad experience, you should go here. Im going to any other clinic.

I would mention the staff by name but, I respect their privacy! This place was amazing.... the staff were super kind and looked after me - even the front desk guy helped find me a splint and crutches. The doctor was super kind and concise when she decided what we were going to do with a problem of mine. The nurse who checked my vitals and temperature was super easygoing and funny! She was a total riot! Even their student shadow was great! These guys are great. Five stars!

The front desk staff was very nice. The new patient paperwork was quick and efficient; I came in an hour early and was seen early as well. The doctor was a wealth of knowledge and very kind.

Competent, caring, empathetic. One of the most positive medical related experiences Ive ever had. Friendly staff made me feel safe and comfortable and the doctor was just fantastic.
