My first appt with Dr Shah was scheduled for. 2:00.As I arrived and checked in, receptionist took my ID and medical card.I was anxious as I had changed insurance due to my work.I never been to this office but was very unhappy.The waiting room was very small aprox 10 seats and very smelly during to body odor.A homeless man kept coming in playing with the water fountain and talking to himself making circles.The staff didnt secure the area at all.After an hour waiting for my 1st appt I asked the girl why am I waiting so long to see the Dr?She asked my name and said oh I had to verify your insurance They still had my old primary care Dr on FILE.I had made my appt 2 weeks prior advising I was new and gave all my info at that time.The girl snapped at me asking if I wanted to see the papers and that today I was not seeing Dr Mona Shah but a physician assistant.I was mad cuz I had been waiting already over a hour and a half.The staff is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.They carried personal conversations and openly talked about patients.The girl said I was next so I waited for the PA.I felt really bad that I had switched my insurance to Scan.Im going to make an official complaint and see if I can change to a different Primary care office.If you care how you are treated,dont go to this place.They are not professional and could care less if you are waiting long.

First appointment i arrive and check-in only to find out that my Primary doctor i had just signed up with and made the appointment three months in advance was on vacation, the staff had failed to let me know. Last appointment. arrived at 11:30 to the staff laughing and eating. signed in and it took the receptionist 15 mins to sign me in and collect my payment (no other patients in office).Nurse takes my vitals and asks why ive come to see the doctor then leaves the room to call the hospital i was at for records. its now 12:00 pm. waited in the room until 1:00 pm and there was no one to come and say hey the doc is running late, the doc didnt say hello ill be with you in a moment, no i sat in a room for an HOUR WAITING. i left the room and went to the front desk to ask for a refund of my co-pay, they then notified me i was the next one on the list and that a doctor had called out so MY doctor was covering those patients, great then why was i not called to say they are short handed and if i would like to be rescheduled so my time was not wasted? why wasnt i bumped up because she was my doctor? needless to say DR Mona Shah lost a patient today because of her staffs lack of communication skills and her unprofessional atmosphere.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shah for over 6 years. Dr. Shah and her medical staff are outstanding and provide excellent medical services. She is a dedicated practitioner who takes her time to answer any medical questions. Her authenticity and humble personality offers patients a comfortable setting to address any medical concerns a patient may have. Dr. Shah exemplifies the true definition of a caring and professional medical doctor. Even during extremely busy times, her office takes the necessary measures to meet the patients medical requests. The entire staff is friendly and attentive to patients needs as well. I have also had the pleasure of being attended by Dr. Foster whose professionalism and medical practice skills are reflective of Dr. Shah and the entire medical staff at Prime-Medical in San Pedro. I have been extremely satisfied with Dr. Shahs medical practice and just hope she continues to practice medicine in our community of San Pedro. And to Dr. Shah and Dr. Foster, we, Carlos and May, want to thank you for your professionalism and keen awareness of our medical concerns.
