At first I was so thankful for Dr. Brooks, FINALLY a GYN to help me, he was very quick to say a total hysterectomy was required for me to fix my problem ( at 34 ). The wait time was LONG in his office, and his staff not that friendly, BUT if he was going to help then I was ok with waiting. After the surgery he pretty much dropped me, he put an 11" incision in my belly, 22 staples, & 6 weeks later said "OK I wont need to see you again till next year". And he MEANT IT. After MAJOR abdominal surgery who knows how many internal sutures, my family doctor saw me once a month for the last 8 months trying to help my hormone levels, manage PAIN that I STILL HAVE. So my family doctor sends me back to see Dr.Brooks, because HE FEELS that because Dr.Brooks performed my surgery he should help. It took 2.5 months to get into see Dr. Brooks, he was NOT happy to see me, his nurse asked all the normal questions why I was there, what was happening. Dr. Brooks came into the room and said "I am not writing you a perscription for pain pills and I am not performing surgery". WHAT??!!!! I didnt ASK FOR EITHER ONE OF THOSE THINGS!!!! He proceeded to be rude, condosending and basically make me feel like a "pill popper" and that I had NO FEMALE parts ( except for a small piece of cervix which had NOTHING to do with my pain in his opinion ) therefore he was done with me. His nurse came in so he could do an internal exam, "Yup, its fine, you clearly have tenderness on the right side, but there is nothing I can do about it, I could send you for an ultrasound but if its scar tissue there is nothing I can do about it". I am a 34 year old "woman" he ripped out my ovaries, uterus, threw estrogen at me and basically has now made me feel like a drug addict. I had to force him to write his "recommendation" to my family doctor that he will not help me and HIS recommendation is go see a general surgeon to do an exploratory surgery. All I have to say is this: DOCTORS WORK FOR US. not the other way around. I am a mother of 2, I work, I have a mortgage, and car payments, a family who COUNTS on me to help care for them. I dont want pain pills I want my LIFE BACK and I counted and TRUSTED this man to give that back to me. Not cut me open and leave me in the wind & make me feel as if I AM A DRUG ADDICT. SHAME ON YOU Dr.Jeffrey Brooks, what if I was YOUR daughter?? Or wife?? Granddaughter?? Would you have treated them this way??? I doubt it.
