Dont want to take the day off or take your child out of school for the entire day for a simple eye exam? THEN DONT GO TO THIS PLACE! First time, waited 45 minutes to see dr, got called back and waited another 30 for the dr. to come in. Was running low on time, asked receptionist how much longer. She said 90 minutes. 30 minutes more waiting to see the dr. that is so "thorough" it requires a 60 minute exam. For glasses. When asked why it takes so long I was told "Were low on eye techs today and we over book because so many people dont show up or cancel." Couldnt wait 90 minutes plus the time to pick out frames etc. Re scheduled. Second time, waited 45 minutes to see dr. In the office over 2 hrs. Third time, ok I admit my glasses were in 2 months ago and I was was taking my time picking them up. I did go but they were closed for lunch. I go back for them and wait 25 minutes, they forgot about me, and then when the girl looked up and saw me, I waited another 15 for them to locate the glasses that for some reason were at the Sierra Vista location and not the Durango location where I had gotten the exam and picked out frames. I said Forget It! Im going somewhere else and paying cash, this is ridiculous! Understaffed and chronically overbooked

I wish I would have read the reviews before I took my daughter there for her first exam. I guess having medicaid insurance you get treated very poorly. Anyways we go in fill out paper work and proof of insurance with ID. So we wait for a hour my daughter got very frusrated there was no TV or music just two spinning fans and a cricket that ran across the floor for entertainment. The first room we walk into I noticed the lady did not nwipe off the equiment before my daughter put her face on the machine. Then wnotot sent to another waiting room for 10 min. The doctor was not friendly she rushed the eye test her machine messed up twice and then we was rushed out the building. AND Dont even think about being booked for an appointment without your insuranced card or memorising the number smh they was all WACK.

I dont know about Dr. Harvey Ohriner but Dr. McCaffrey (the female optometrist) was EXTREMELY kind and patient with me. I had my eyes checked on 6/9/2017 to get a new pair of glasses. I was considering to get Lasik, which isnt offered at the Eyecare Center, but Dr. McCaffrey took her time to explain what I needed to know when searching for Lasik surgery providers. She also showed me pictures of my retina and clearly went over with me what she was seeing from the photos. I was curious about a lot of things (because I havent seen an optometrist in several years) and it was clear to me that she was going above and beyond to help me understand about my eyes and the steps that I needed to take to protect them. I recommend Dr. McCaffrey completely.

The office ladies are not friendly at all! All four of my family members are patiens here and we have yet to experience a pleasant entry. The main woman has the personality of a plain gray pebble. I think it wears off on the other gal. She has the potential to be a fantastic administrative member to address patience. Time to switch them up and remind them that patients fund the organization that writes the paychecks. Especially those of us who pay in full with cash! Time to find a happier place.

The worst thing you can do is to talk over someone... it is rude, and is dismissive. Spoke to someone by the name of Maricella (sp.) I found that the last two times Ive called, this happens. Not only do I choose to purchase my contacts elsewhere because of the price, but also because I refuse to be treated badly where I spend my money. Customer service and relations training is definitely needed at this place. (Durango location).

They charged me $80 a box for a box of acuvue oasis contacts 12 pack....after i looked it up on-line the same box is $40-60, i asked why they up charge double the actual price, they said its what it is and i could take my prescription and go buy em myself but insurance wouldnt cover it since i had exam there. Price gouging at its most despicable level, no-class, this place has NO SHAME!!! GO ANYWHERE ELSE

Very RUDE AND WHEN U ASK FOR A RECEIPT THEY WANNA GET RUDE AND THEN SAY U CANT COME BACK.. IF MY SON HAS 2 INSURANCES U BILL PRIMARY FIRST THEY WANTED TO BILL MY SON MEDICAID AND I SAID NO HE HAS HPN AND THATS HIS PRIMARY. SAMANTHA HUNG UP THE PHONE ON ME BUT IM GLAD U DID THAT BECAUSE I WILL LET EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO GO THERE! THEY HAVE 50 MEXICANS IN THERE BUT 1 DR AT A TIME!

Id give it a five however dep being on what insurance you have they wont let you go over to the stand that holds the galasses and see them for you self--- they will pick ones from the 15 drawer stand and bring the ones . They think, youll like. Its stressful. And dumb .. the doctor is very nice but the staff can use a little work.
