Where do I start? First off, my experience with dentists in the past hasnt been that great. Just this last Friday night around midnight, I developed some major tooth pain that wasnt even on the scale of 1-10...It was about a 99!! I was in very bad pain. I was able to get an appointment through 1-800-DENTIST and they directed me to Dr. Skrapits office for a 9:30 am appointment to get this tooth looked at and extracted. Dr. Skrapits and his ENTIRE staff were awesome! I mean everyone. I was able to explain what was going on, he took one look, one x-ray and the Novocaine started to flow. He was very concerned with getting me out of pain and getting this taken care of. After a little bit, we were ready to edge it out. He asked along the way how it was going and I did let him know that I could feel it, so more relief was given...then it was started again, and the tooth was out. The reason for this review is that if you have pain, he is the main man to get it taken care of. I was so pleased that he was able to listen to me, do what I wanted, and execute perfectly. He is someone I would bring the most scared person to...Dr. Skrapits has a great personality and one that would fit any age, and anyone that was concerned or had questions. I look forward to seeing him again (when needed). He also take care of children, and we are changing our Dentist immediately to bring them to him! I want to also stress, he is there every other weekend and WE couldnt find a dentist here in Northern NJ that was working on a Saturday. Bravo to you and your staff for being great on Saturday. I was able to go the whole day without pain meds, and only changed the gauze a few times. It was perfect. The BBQ was on, and I was pain free!! Go see him, you wont regret it. I cant say enough about Dr. Skrapits and the entire staff at his Hackettstown office. If you arent a patient, you are missing out on the best dentist I have ever been to. You will thank me later if you go see him...trust me. Thanks again for the professional and well executed service on this root canal. Chris

Before seeing Dr. Skrapits, I had a horrible experience with my original dentist. I am so thankful my good friends referred me to Dr. Skrapits. His office and himself are updated on the latest dentistry and equipment. I am extremely terrified of going to the dentist because of what happened with my original dentist back in the day, but Dr. Skrapits made me feel comfortable and welcome in his beautiful office and I was able to relax. I look forward to going to the dentist rather than always canceling my appointments because I was so afraid. I cant wait till I can bring my children to him and I recommend him to anyone! His staff is caring and nice which also made me feel at home! Once all my dental work is done, I look forward to go to my cleanings!

In response to the review written by "John Fisch": I am sorry you had a negative experience at my office. Yes, we do have a very relaxed atmosphere at the office and we do joke around quite a bit. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by the laughter they hear when they walk into our office. I think it is an accurate reflection of my personality as well as the personalities of all of my team members. When it comes to dentistry and patient care, however, we are very serious about providing the best there is to offer. I am sorry my office wasnt the right fit for you and your mother. I have been going to Dr. Skrapits for many years. I being a lifetime resident of Hackettstown recently married in 2007 and moved to Pa. I like Dr. Skrapits and his staff enough to continue to see him. It is worth the trip. When I walk into their office I feel like a friend not a patient. They are friendly, courteous, and always make you comfortable. I for one growing up always feared the dentist. They make it easier going to the dentist. Thanks Dr. Skrapits and staff.

The dentist is very friendly and so is the staff. Overall my experience was fine except I think so got taken advantage of with the enormous bill I got for a root canal on one tooth. I think the staff knew that my insurance was out of network and didnt let me know because they wanted me to be overcharged so they could reap the benefits. So now I know Im out of network I wont be returning to get overcharged.

AVOID THIS PLACE- WORST DENTIST IN NJ! He is very rude and abnoxious. I took my mother there and every other word out of his mouth was a joke and it wasnt funny- is that what they taught him in dental school? He is the worst dentis in the universe. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID, clearly the people who have left the 5 stars arr his family or friends. He always looks miserable.

Getting a root canal is not a pleasant experience…. Unless Dr. Skrapits is your dentist. Dr. Skrapits and his entire team create a comfortable environment and ensure that nothing is missed. They all a team of professionals that I would (And do) recommend to everyone.

My husband and I have been going to Dr. Skrapits for many years. It is always a great experience. Dr. Skrapits has a way of making you forget your at the dentist, not to mention his work is beautiful and his staff is warm and welcoming every time.
