I want to start by saying obviously this is just my familys experience. I have had friends that take their pets here and they love it, no complaints. My dog got surgery a week ago to remove a fatty tumor. The didnt send him home with a cone and he ended up licking it open. Took him to ER at 2 AM when I noticed the stitches unraveling a few days later. They cleaned it and charged be a buttload for nothing, but I understand its not their fault. She said it should be ok and to keep him as immobile as possible. Well he rubbed it against furniture and the back of his cage and it opened up again. So I called first thing when CCVC opened (they open at 8 but didnt answer my call at 8:15). My husband took him in on his way to work anyway without the appointment since it was an emergency. He sat in a cage for 4 hours and the doctor hadnt even looked at him yet when I came to check on him. I called Rolling Hills in Finksburg and they were able to take him right away. I immediately picked my dog up and we were on our way out of this place. Also, I will too mention that the service is anything less then courteous. The techs and the doctors are nice, though his doctor didnt call to check on him or talk to us after his surgery for an update, that I didnt like. But the front desk needs some work. She was quite rude to me and looked at me like I had 5 heads when I asked to SEE my dog. She said I couldnt because they were too busy. That was the last straw. My dogs are my kids. My opinion is they have too many clients/patients and not enough help obviously. He ended up getting surgery today and had an infected, festering, necrotic wound from the surgery even though he was on antibiotics. They butchered him and we surely will not go back.

I have been a patient for a little while not exactly sure how long, couple of years. I do know I have spent quite a bit of money there. On Wednesday I came home from work to find my dog laying in the yard, he couldnt walk had the skin ripped off his leg down to the bone and had been run over by the mail truck. At 4:45 I called Carroll County Vet, told them my situation and was told the vet had to leave to go pick up her kids. When I asked for a suggestion on what else I could do I was told I could wait 2 hours and go to the emergency vet when they opened, forgot to mention my dog is 14! Thank God I didnt listen to these uncaring people or my dog would have died. Thankfully I received better advise from my sister. Called Summitt Animal Hosp and was told to bring the dog in immediately AND we had never been seen there before. Im sure this wont get posted but someone will read it.

We have been using this facility for 20 plus years. We have found the staff compassionate, empathetic and professional. Our dogs are our family, and CCVC has always treated them as such. Dr. Wimmer has performed numerous procedures on our pets and when a more serious situation occurred, she reccomended an animal hospital in Baltimore. Which we used and our dog is healthy and happy. I never doubt the safety of our dogs with the staff of CCVC. More importantly, our dogs also sense the sincerity and friendliness of everyone there. I have reccomended this facility to many people, and will continue to do so. If you love your pets and want the best care for them, do not hesitate to bring them to Carroll County Veterinary Clinic!

The worst veterinary office ever. They killed my poor puppy, Harley. We had taken him there several times before he died, they told us he had pancreatitis. They would keep him overnight for one night then send him home-this went on a few times. According to other vets he should have been kept for about a week on an IV, NPO. They fed him further destroying him. He was too young to die. I miss my poor baby everyday, and do not understand how this vet remains open. Please do not take your fur babies to this terrible vet office. PLEASE. The pain of losing a pet is unbearable especially when you could have had 5 or more years left with your baby.

My pupper is a wriggly little guy that is terrified of strangers and other dogs and barks up a storm when he starts getting handled. Every time Ive taken him in, everyone has been so nice and understanding! They always joke around a bit and do their best to make him feel better, or at least get the unpleasantness out of the way asap. The people are nice and obviously love animals and the prices are very good. Ill definitely be sticking with this clinic for quite a while!

I took my dog there for an ear infection a few months ago, and while they treated my dog with care, the staff were not very pleasant to deal with. They were abrupt and they made me feel like I was bothering them. Today, I called them for another reason to get information and it was like trying to pull teeth. The person who answered the phone was not professional, nor was she helpful. I will not have further dealings with this clinic because they lack in people skills.

I have been going to CCVC for 15 years and cant imagine going anywhere else. I moved to PA and still drive there, 90 minutes away, for my pets care. Dr. Wimmer and her crew are amazing and always kind. It is a family there and I love that environment for my pets. They truly care for each and every pet and their owners, I have 7. Look no further, this is the best place for your pets! I would give 10 stars if I could!

I should have stopped bring my pets here after the first visit. Most of the staff is rude and after a very disturbing visit I got a second opinion. Much of the information from CCVC did not match up with what my new vet was finding and many of the recommendations from CCVC would have left my elderly pets in a worse state.

This Vet Office has been such a great experience for our family. They know you and care about your pets! Dr. Wimmer is genuine and takes her time with each four legged patient (and their two-legged parents too!)... I wouldnt go anywhere else!
