First off, we called in the AM to ask if we could fit our puppy in for a standard check up. The vet tech/receptionist on the phone said "Yes you can do a drop off between now and 10:30." Even after we told her that wed never been to this location before. Drive a whole half hour out of our way to get there and find out that NOPE they cant do a drop off. Apparently thats not a thing, if they havent seen your pet before. We should have been notified of that from the beginning. THANK GOD WE DIDNT DO A DROP OFF ANYWAY. As soon as we got there we were seriously disappointed! Very dirty clinic. Hair pushed up against corners and dark and light crusty spots littered the floor. The front desk staff were extremely unknowledgeable. There was maybe 1 other client waiting to be seen and it seemed like they were rushing us. They didnt even CLEAN the exam room that we went into. There was still empty medication viles sitting out from the last dog!! Thats so gross and unsanitary. Also - EVERY DOG. I mean every single dog that came in there was TERRIFIED. My dog was hiding under benches to get away from this vet. Hes NEVER done that before. I mean he was shaking he was so scared. All the other dogs were whining and shaking too. Im a firm believer in vibes and how dogs sense things and something about this clinic was seriously off and the dogs could tell. Never in my entire experience with Banfield had I seen animals so upset and scared. Plus dont even get me started on the actual Vet we saw. So tight clipped and aggressive. We will not be going back, ever!

STAY AWAY!!!!!! Been going to Banfields for years and have loved every single location I have been to EXCEPT for this one! Multiple things avout my vet experience was bad but what has prompted me to write this review has been my dogs nail trimming experience. He has black nails so I pay to have them trimmed as I dont accidentally cut his quick. Ive been taking him to Banfield to have his nails trimmed for 7 years. Never had an issue. He came back into the exam room with his nails bleeding so I insisted on speaking to the manager. Her reply in short, it was my problem because his nails were black and I could put him to sleep next time so it wouldnt accidently happen again. I wont go into the details of our exchange but long story short, when I insisted that I at least get an apology and not have to pay for it, I was told that I would pay for the service because they did the service and right. "So its correct to have your dogs nails bleed when they get trimmed?" "Yes!" According to Banfields manager. End note: the young mail vet tech could not have been nicer and more apologetic, thank you! Also my appointment was at 10:30, its 12 and Im just leaving (usually Im in and out in under 30 mins)

I went to get a refill prescription for my pup. The couple in front of me had a husky pup that even I could tell was not feeling good. The owners explained to the assistant that they did not have an appointment but it was an emergency because he had eaten an entire sock a few days prior and stopped eating and using the restroom. The assistant said that the vet was about to go on lunch and he had a full schedule after so there was no guarantee they would be able to see them! I was shocked! Im a dental assistant, and my doctor would never put a lunch break in front of an emergency patient. Luckily another customer was able to point them in the direction of the nearest emergency vet hospital. And to the girl at the counter.... you didnt even ask your doctor.... and ignored several phone calls. Now I know why I can never get through.

Amazing how people get upset with them for not taking emergency walk ins when 1) There is an Emergency Animal hospital literally 2 mins away and 2) They are basically a doctors office for your pet not the hospital for your pet. I mean do you make an appointment with your doctor if you had a gunshot wound? Just Saying guys. These people do their job to the best of their ability and to the best that company, local, state and federal regulations allow them to. Normally a place that has mixed reviews is a good place. If it was really as bad as some make it out to be you would see all negative on here. Just blows my mind like if your that great of a pet owner wouldnt you know like every other competent pet owner in the Rockville area that there is an Emergency Animal hospital open 24hrs right around the corner. Rant Done.

I bring my westie and cairn terrier there and love it! The wellness plans are a great deal if you really want to take good care of your pet. Sometimes the wait is a little longer than expected, but it is worth it for the care and service that the doctors provide you. They really take the time to ask you everything about your beloved dog. Additionally, I have learned more from Dr. Paranjpe and Dr. Parna than I have from any other vets I have taken my dogs to see. Did you know that you could get a water additive to break down the tartar on their teeth? I didnt! Also, it is a busy place so please try and come on time for your appointments so that they can take us all on time! :)

The location is great. And thats the only thing I can say is great about this Banfield location. *They dont start answering phones until 90 minutes after the listed opening time. *Hold time is often longer than 20 minutes. *I made an appointment for a vaccination...then they "ran out" of the vaccine and didnt have it after I brought my pet in. *They charged me for medication and put in the chart the pet was on this, but never told me about it or gave it to me or the pet. I could go on and on, but you get the idea. It seems that its just a very poorly run "franchise" vet clinic.

We have had nothing but excellent service from the vets here and between our daughter and our household we have had 3 dogs and 5 cats enrolled in their service plans. The only thing keeping them from getting 5 stars is they frequently are 30 minutes to an hour late in seeing you for a scheduled appointment. We have never seen the cleanliness issues mentioned in some of these posts. I dont think the low ratings are typical experiences as they are constantly booked and busy...not a sign of someplace where folks are having poor experiences.

I came in to get my guinea pigs nails cut (which is a walk in service that takes 5 mins). I was told itll be about a 10 min wait. After waiting an hour, I asked the front desk if they were booked and he said yes and they were short staffed so hell remind the techs that Im waiting. I understand being short staffed but it was not acceptable that they took another walk in before me when at this point I was there for an hour and a half. I waited 10 more mins and a tech took a scheduled patient so I left.
