Well, i wish i can give 5 start but my last appointment it wasnt what I expect! I took my dog to get checked by the doctor(wish he never came out to the room only the assistance) for them to check my dog cause he was bitting on his back and scratching a lot on the same place! When I did check him at home he was bitting his skin so hard that it left him some parts bleeding, I ask them what can it be, and she say that it might be from him bitting, (which obviously I already knew that) she say she didnt find no fleas or ticks and ask me if I want to put a shot for the open wounds so it wouldnt get infected and some pills for the "scratching" sinse then I say okay well is not fleas or ticks, 1 week later I keep seeing the dog scratching, scratching, scratching I did my 2nd search and I found like 10 small fleas around the same spot he keeps scratching, now i have to deal with more mess bomb the house with fleas toxics so it can kill all the ones that are lose around. My thing is if she would of check right I could of stop it on the spot, by the marks or sign o his skin she would of know that he was been bitting by flea, is the first time he gets fleas he is 4 years old and is a house dog, he dont be with other dogs or outside playing only when he needs to potty. Hopefully next time if Im paying $40 just to check my dog I hope they check him completely cause if I couldve stop it on the spot it was going to be less mess to deal with. Other then that they are great staff this is the first time it happened which i expect to be a little more trusted.

I have always been very pleased with my experiences at Community Animal Hospital regarding my dog Elley. We transferred her care to this clinic because we did not feel she was getting the care she deserved at another veterinary establishment. There were too many veterinarians at her previous clinic and every appointment lacked continuity of care, which resulted in prolonged treatment for her. It was the best decision we made for her because the staff are always attentive and explain procedures, etc. Drs. Sloat and Russo take time with you at every appointment to address your concerns. I have never been disappointed with Elleys care. Her care always felt personal, like we were part of a family. The doctors made sure Elley was kept comfortable after her being diagnosed with cancer. When she was euthanized, Dr. Russo and the staff treated Elley with respect, they were very kind and compassionate during this difficult time. I definitely recommend Community Animal Hospital.

Ive been taking my 16 year old dog to Dr. Sloat now for the past 3+ years. Prior to moving to York, Ive dealt with many other Vets all over the country, and have only found two that I have trusted, and now Community Animal Hospital is at the top of that list. Dr. Sloat has excellent bedside manners, and is great with dealing with the humans as well. His explanations are thorough and easy to understand. When he prescribes medicines, he explains the dosing, and then before you leave another member of the staff explains it to you again just so there are no misunderstandings. Many of the vets at the clinics associated with the big pet stores are in the business of making money, and will sell you any product or service that they can even though it isnt needed. This is not the case with CAH. They are genuinely concerned with the health of your pet and, from what Ive witnessed, will bend over backwards to help you. .

I have to start off by stating that I am EXTREMELY DISSAPPOINTED with the service and bedside manners to which the staff here has performed! Be sure to pay your ENTIRE balance because if you ever need anything as little as flea drops, you will not be able to do so without a ZERO BALANCE!!! I had a very small balance of $36 and needed to purchase flea drops so as to avoid any problems and I had assumed that they would worry more about the welfare of my animals then $36!!!!!! Boy I was wrong and was told to purchase ones over the counter at a Pet Store?????? I DONT THINK SO!!!! On top of that......I was hung up on in the middle of a sentence when trying to understand the situation and how to get this resolved! How RUDE AND UNBUSINESS-LIKE! I would definately AVOID THIS VET...... AVOID THIS VET...... AVOID THIS VET!!!!! They are not ones to look out for the best interest of your pets and thats a promise!

The one person at the front desk (receptionist) is very rude and condescending....As for my dogs treatment, you would think that it would have been indicated on the chart that the pills prescribed for her condition would be easily refillable...but that sadly was not the case. The condescending receptionist told me that she could ask the vet on duty if I could get a refill but I would be placed on hold for quite some time, as she had to wait for the vet to finish with appointments. So, I informed them to have my dogs records ready for pick up and I am seeking new vet care for my dog. This place is not the best Ive seen. I think they need to either let the rude lady at the front desk go, or find her a job where she doesnt need to interact with clients. If it were my office, shed have been gone long ago!

I have to say that Dr. Sloat was quite a lifesaver for me in my situation. After being delayed for five hours awaiting a return phonecall from the vet @ Pattons that saw my dog when necessary throughout his life, I was forced to make other phonecalls to meet the demands of my St. Bernard. Dr. Sloat was not only kind enough to take us on as 1st timers, but he was also kind enough to come to the car & euthanize my dog to save any extra stress as per my request. I really wasnt up for any small talk & Dr. Sloat respected our wishes. Cudos to this man for understanding the situation and taking the time to care! His prices are definately reasonable as he didnt even charge me for being a new patient and could have done so very easily!!!

Dr. Russo is wonderful. She quickly diagnosing our 3yr old Golden Retriever with lymphoma cancer. She is so sweet and caring. We just love her. We couldnt ask for more thorough care. Dr Sloat is also wonderful. He has cared for our pets for the past 16 years. Weve been so lucky to find such GREAT veterinarians when we relocated to York, PA Before you go anywhere else, call Community Animal Hospital for your pets needs. You wont be disappointed. They are 6 stars on a scale of 1 to 5.

Dr. Sloat and the staff at Community Animal Hospital are true animal lovers, and Ive seen them go above and beyond even in scenarios where they werent profiting. Theres been a couple of times where older people that could no longer take care of their pets would bring them into Dr. Sloat, and he would take them in and find suitable homes for them. Its that caring manner that keeps me coming back and shows that I can fully trust him with my pets.
