Im very surprised at the low reviews here, though several seem to be for his colleague, with whom Ive had no dealings. I also do not purchase glasses or contacts through this office, so I cannot speak to that aspect of this practice either. But Ive seen Dr. Nachum for about 15 years. Ive had pretty poor vision and eye problems for the last 25 years or so, have seen a great many optometrists and opticians in three different states during that time, and am basing this review on those points of comparison. I am incredibly glad to have found Dr. Nachum. If youre looking for someone attentive, thorough, knowledgeable, and patient, this is your guy, and I have found him to be 100% rock solid on that account. In the age of increasingly brief, shallow, and disinterested doctors appointments, I have never once felt churned through an appointment as quickly as possible, even when the office is notably busy. He consistently takes the time for a careful examination, and asks for, actually listens to, and responds to my questions and concerns with a level of detail that does not leave me with more questions than clear answers, or wondering if something is being disregarded or missed - and he will furthermore bring those points up at future appointments, which confirms that he heard me and is keeping tabs on whats going on. I find him very personable and warm during appointments; he somehow always remembers my squeamish dread of having my eyelids flipped up for examination, and his bedside manner has never been less than impeccable. I appreciate that he keeps on top of the latest advances and tech in his field so that I can receive better and more accurate test results. When I recently decided to go for laser eye surgery - in my case, PRK, which is a bit rougher than LASIK, with a rather prolonged recovery time - he recommended an excellent surgeon (I did not blindly take his word for this either, and did my own research on surgeons and pricing), and then worked together with that surgeon both before each procedures and during my recovery to make sure I got exactly what I wanted out of the surgery and healed up without issue, all at no extra cost to me. Dr. Nachum stands out to me as a quality care provider, which I frankly find pretty hard to come by under the strictures of our current system. I trust him, and cannot imagine feeling in any better hands; I know of no greater recommendation for any doctor.

I can speak about Dr. Marissa Israel who works in his office... I scheduled an appointment in early 2009 and was assigned to see Dr. Israel. She was so careless with everything. I told her my prescription was -1.25 and -1.5 (the eye with -1.25 had become weaker and needed a slightly stronger prescription). She checked my glasses anyway and told me I was wrong and they were actually -1.5 and -1.5. Why would my previous Dr. lie to me? She proceeded to do the eye test (thinking I was -1.5 in both eyes). She told me my current prescription was fine (the incorrect one). I assured her she was wrong, she had another staff person check and voila! -1.25 and -1.5. I was right! Then she was like, "oh." She didnt redo the test on me at all and told me my current (-1.25 and -1.5) prescription was fine. But she performed the eye tests on me thinking I was -1.5 in BOTH eyes and told me that was fine! Then I told her I wanted to increase the -1.25 eye to -1.5 and she signed off on it without question. I left there in complete and udder shock due to her carelessness! My previous eye dr. in CA was awesome! If you go here, I would request to see Dr. Nachum. I can only hope he is better!

I write this review with disappointment. Dr. Nachum suggested that - for a pair of eyeglasses which I would be wearing *all* the time, to have the blue-light blocking coating since I work in front of a computer. I accepted the advice of the doctor, and opted for the $90 more option to do so. In the past year after continuously wearing these eyeglasses, I noticed that I was not sleeping well as before, and also felt increasingly lethargic. It was only after conducting an eye-exam with a different doctor did I discover that it was an *absolute mistake* to wear blue-blocking lenses all the time. More egregious is the fact that this is common knowledge - that no one should be wearing blue-blocking all the time - it disrupts circadian rhythms and moods. It is difficult for me to presume that Dr. Nachum did not know about this. I am saddened to think that Dr. Nachum - who so casually asserted that the glasses he prescribed are fine to wear all the time - did so to go after putting an extra charge on my eyeglasses. Greed is a terrible vice, doctor.

This is for Dr. Nachum. The one think I always appreciate here is that they are timely, you dont have to wait for half an hour before youre seen, you are seen when you were scheduled to be seen. Dr. Nachum seems very knowledgeable, and always explains exactly what is going on with my eyes. I would highly recommend him and in fact already have done on multiple occasions.

Dr. Marissa Israel gave me 3 different prescriptions in 3 days. The worst thing was that she was convincing me that wasnt her fault... I never had such a bad eye doctor in my life. My case is medium difficult but every doctor except her could define my prescription and the angles because I have astigmatism.

I went for an eye exam. When I asked about contacts, they wanted to charge me additional $150 for contact test!!! The Dr. Suggested couple of useless tests. I knew exactly what I wanted. Looking at their frames collection I realized that they are all over priced.

Dr. Marissa Israel is so wonderful! Im legitimately looking forward to my next appointment. She took the time to explain everything and make sure I was comfortable with everything happening.

Attempted to schedule an eye exam. Was told to hold (did so for 5 mins), then the receptionist hung up on me.
