I had lasik about a month ago at LASIK Plus in Paramus and would absolutely recommend both the surgery and the Paramus office to anyone considering the surgery. I went back and forth on the surgery in general for years - its your eyes! not to mention expensive and contacts were tolerable - and went to several consultations in the Fairfield County CT area. I made the trip to LASIK Plus in Paramus based on the online reviews and immediately felt I was in attentive, qualified hands. They have good customer service protocols in place, the office is clean, technology up to date, the staff are all very friendly and helpful, and the doctors were informative, confident, friendly, taking their time with exams and answering questions. Kudos to Doctor Desai, loved her. This is their specialty - they do one thing and one thing well - and they have a well working system in place. It was out of the way for me logistically, but I felt most comfortable with the office and doctors than others closer to me. Prices were competitive, and while my insurance did not cover they work with you on that. At first I opted for PRK but ended up just having LASIK (I was qualified for both, with -4.5 & -4.25) due to schedules and recovery time. Day of surgery is the first time you meet the performing Doctor Pettinelli, which was a concern of mine, but all familiar faces were there as well, and he went out of his way to do a meet/greet surgery recap and answer any questions beforehand, his enthusiasm and knowledge all very evident. The procedure is quick, and while I had done preemptive research beforehand I was still nervous and didnt know what to expect. All I can say is yes, it is quick, painless, and the whole focus on the laser with your eyes taped open thing is so much more dramatic than the reality, it was a non issue! Although fuzzy I could tell I could see better without contacts already, and after sleeping it off the next day it was perfect! A month out and I am so happy with results (20/20 & 20/15), no dry eyes or night halos etc that I was concerned about. I still catch myself thinking I need to take my contacts out at night, but not having to rely on them is such a blessing! Of course I followed through with aftercare as instructed, and LASIK Plus would call and check in on results between checkups which was nice to know they dont forget about you or stop customer service and care after you pay and have surgery. If you are in the NJ, CT or NYC area and considering LASIK or PRK, you owe it to yourself to visit LASIK Plus in Paramus. And no, I am not receiving any incentive to write this review :) Best of luck on your journey!

Customer Service: (Fantastic) I called them before I went and was given excellent pre-consultation instruction. After I scheduled my consulation I arrived on time and was helped promptly. Professionalism: (Fantastic) I have to be one of the worst types of patients. I get super nervous, I ask too many questions and Im terrible at the "which image is clearer" game but it didnt deter the doctor from finding my exact prescription and then telling me that I was a candidate for the procedure. On the day of the procedure they handle everyone by their scheduled appointment time and its a super quick operation. You enter one door, speak Dr. Pattinelli, he preps you for the procedure, talks you through the entire thing and you leave with your very own "terminator" styled sunglasses and youre good to go. The first week is the hardest, dont touch your eye, wear the sunglasses and DO YOUR DROPS! I didnt seem to be hit by most of the negative side effects though my light sensitivity did seem to be on the high side. I attribute it to nerves and not wanting to do anything that might hurt my eye. The nurses are great, the receptionist is great, the doctor is great, the surgeon is great and honestly I couldnt be happier with my decision. They are also with you 100% of the way. If you have any questions you just call and theyre happy to assist you. Ive been singing their praises to everyone that asked me about them. If youre thinking about it, Id say at least go in for a consultation. Its free and you get a better idea of everything involved in the process. It looks really scary on the outside but honestly the numbing solution applied to your eyes really does knock them right out in terms of feeling anything. I literally had lasers in my eye and the only thing I felt was the stress balls they let me hold hah.

Im very pleased with this experience.I had my surgery just recently (today) and here is my feedback on the whole service overall. When i first came in for a free consultation, i was treated very nicely by staff and the doctor who did the exam. The staff and the doctor were very friendly, loyal (i messed up with appointment days and came in on a wrong day), professional. They evaluated me and i guess found out i have dry eyes. They gave me a prescription for a dry eye medication with a free first medication fill and a discount card for only a $20 following refills for medication. Thanks for that. On the day of surgery, the doctor and the staff were very time effective, balancing a pre-op check and work with papers i had to fill out and sign. Again the staff was very loyal and friendly, polite and professional. Not a sign of tension or annoyance ( i made a few mistakes with my paperwork, the dumbest one was with the date and the staff just calmly and politely asked me to re-do some of these forms). The staff also explained to me how to take medications and how to care and protect my eyes after the surgery in the clearest, calmest, the most polite manner possible. The doctor and the surgeon explained to me how the procedure is going to go in details with timing and the description of what will happen during and following the procedure. The surgeon was calm and did everything to help me not panic and relax during the procedure. As any surgery, i had some discomfort, but overall, its a small price to pay (very small price to pay: no pain and timing of the procedure makes clear vision restoration miraculous). I am very pleased the whole procedure went smoothly and very happy with friendly and loyal staff and doctors.

I first heard about LasikPlus through a family friend. He spoke very highly of the professional staff at the office, the level of comfort he felt throughout his experience, and his excellent results. Upon hearing this, I decided to schedule a free consultation where I was given complete information on the procedure itself, the before/after care, and had each of my questions answered. Within 2 weeks, it was time for the surgery. That day, everything went seamlessly. The staff (Harold, Marnel, Victor, Dr. Desai and Dr. Pettinelli) made me feel relaxed and comfortable. They each prepared me for the surgery itself and the care required in the weeks after the surgery, providing all protective gear and detailed instructions. The procedure took about 10 minutes in total and my husband was even able to watch. Within hours, I had perfect eyesight (20/15 to be exact as learned in my first follow up). This experience has truly been amazing. The staff at LasikPlus was not only extremely knowledgeable and kind but treated me with complete respect. With every follow up appointment, I was greeted with a smile and the staff knew my husband and I by name. I have never felt as though I was just another number walking through the office doors, which is not common these days. At my 3 month check up, my vision had remained at 20/15. My eyes are still perfectly healthy 13 months later. I would definitely recommend that any person seeking corrective surgery in the NY/NJ/CT area go to LasikPlus of Paramus. You will not be disappointed!
