I just saw Dr. Shireman for the first time. There were so many things I was impressed by that I probably cant even remember them all. First, Margo who cleaned my teeth actually sat and talked to me about my teeth--my home habits, my sensitivity, etc. Then she measured all of my gum pockets, which I have never heard of before, as a preventive measure. She seemed more knowledgeable and concerned about my health than any dental hygienist I have ever seen. Second, Dr. Shireman even talked with me about my sensitivity. Mind you, I did not bring this up to either of them but they asked me lots of questions about my dental health. She even asked me what my philosophy is about replacing amalgam fillings. I have never in my life had a medical professional ask me my philosophy about any medical issue. Third, no one pressured me to have x-rays, which I asked to not do because I dont have insurance. In summary, they seemed genuinely concerned about my health and genuinely respectful of me as a person.

I have been lucky enough to be a patient of Dr. Shireman since she opened up in Cameron Village a year or so ago (not sure of exact time). She is caring and exceptional and has resolved all of my dental issues. Exceptional in that she met me very early in the morning at least twice and at lunch due to emergencies I had. And then followed through with me at night via email and on weekends to see if there was anything else she could do. I am very happy to have found her and consider her the best dentist in the Triangle area. She also has outstanding staff! Barbara is her administrator and is very helpful in setting up appointments and going over the billing carefully, etc.

I just had my first appointment with Dr. Shireman and was very impressed with everything. First off the office itself is nice and modern, comfortable waiting area. My hygienist Kristen was very thorough and friendly, I had never had my gum pockets around each tooth measured and she explained everything she was doing very clearly. She talked to me about home practice and things I could be doing differently that would be helpful. I also love that they are a holistic practice and used a natural toothpaste on me. Dr. Shireman was very friendly and knowledgeable as well! Happy to have found this practice!

I have a 6 year old who has autism and struggles with extreme anxiety and sensory issues. Dr. Shireman and her staff were amazing with my daughter. They listened to everything I had to say regarding how I felt would be the best way to approach examining my daughter. Dr. Shireman was willing to work with us to make my daughter feel comfortable and be cooperative. She is very knowledgeable, has a great bedside manner, and is great with the kids! I am very happy that I found a dental provider that considers me and equal partner in my childs care.

I had moved to the triangle area and was in need of a quality Dentist. I truly believe Ive found the best dentist in the research triangle. Dr.Shireman and her staff are the embodiment of medical professionalism. The office is clean, The staff are extremely attentive and kind. Shes worked with me through insurance, and payment plans. She values her patients as human beings, and not as just a means for a living. Oh! and the quality of the crown, and composite fillings I have received. Paragon. This is a paragon practice!

Have seen them recently; found them very inefficient and unprofessional specifically on the administration part. Im seeing all other reviews going out of the roof: making me think if they have been written by friends/family members. Or the other plausible explanation would be that they have had changes in their administration. Do yourself a favor by looking elsewhere for the sake of saving your time by not dealing with inefficient, highly unprofessional staff.
