I had a terrible experience at Cameron Village Dentistry. I have had the same dentist for as long as I can remember and found a new dentist once I moved to Raleigh. After reading reviews, I was looking forward to coming here. The front desk staff are great; However, the hygenist I saw was absolutely terrible. She couldnt get a good x-ray of my teeth and had to do several times, which I understood as they sometimes are hard to capture. I was supposed to be getting a cleaning, but she took forever to take measurements of the sockets of my teeth. She told me I have periodontal disease (WHAT?) then had the dentist Dr. Shireman come in and confirm this. They told me Id have to pay for a deep cleaning out of pocket ($60) twice a year to prevent the gum disease from getting worse. This visit took a total of 2.5 HOURS! I scheduled an appointment and at this visit I had a fill-in hygienist who works at another office (weird). She told me I do not have periodontal disease and told me that Dr. Shireman is known for recommending treatment that patients dont need. She then (finally) cleaned my teeth. I switched dentists because I do NOT trust her or her staff!

Great Doctor and staff. This dentist really listens to your concerns, answers every question and spends the time needed to make a good experience. She does good work too and has a nice updated office with updated equipment that really adds to the experience too, including massage dentist chairs, in room hand held x-ray and intra-oral camera, which all aids in her awesome ability to show you whats going on in your mouth. I would totally recommend her. She has really done a lot to create a relaxed and relaxing dental experience with a holistic approach to boot. Shes good and she knows her stuff..

Dr. Shireman was very friendly and knowledgeable. She did a very thorough job, and gave me a detailed assessment on the condition of my teeth. The office also has very modern, top of the line, equipment. I have not seen most of it before going there. The overall experience was very pleasant, and I plan to see her again for my next dental appointment.

Dr. Shireman and her staff go out of their way to make sure their patients are comfortable, and they are perfectionists in their work. I have had numerous silver/mercury amalgams removed by them and have had two caps as well, and I was treated like a king each time. Awesome place!
