I can only speak for myself when I say my cat Ashy is like my 3rd child. I want the best care for her like I would want for my kids.....and that is what I get when I come to Dutchess County Animal Hospital. About two months ago, Ashy was very sick and I really thought we were going to have to put her down. Dr. Diana recommended Ashy stay overnight for 4 days, she was diagnosed with liver issues, they were going to hook her up to IV, run tests and make sure her stay was as comfortable as possible....those 4 days were very crucial, to me....the longest 4 days EVER!!! As a crazy pet owner that I am, I checked on Ashy every day (ok 2/3 times a day ;) and the staff couldnt have been any sweeter and compassionate, they knew how upset I was. After the 4 days Ashy came home with us and is on medicine and doing AMAZING!! I get her weighed weekly and so far so good....shes been eating, drinking and gaining weight. I cannot thank Dr. Diana and her staff enough for their kind and loving care they gave Ashy and still give every time we visit the office.

Took my dog there and had a UTI, first they give me a different med because they are out of the one needed, so the UTI didnt really clear up and I had to take him back again. He doesnt see well, so they leave him on a high table and he falls off. Finally, we adopted a cat and I called to ask how long to leave the dog away from the cat because I had given the dog Advantix flea medicine, they told me to call the manufacturer because I didnt purchase the medicine from them. That was the final straw; I changed vets after calling a vet I had never taken my animals to before and they immediately gave me the answer I was looking for. I want a vet I can depend on and answering questions are a part of being a good vet. They give people $20 off on the bill if they give them good references and get new customers for them, so you cant go by someone recommending them. This was my experience with this team.

I have been going to Dutchess County Animal Hospital regularly and I feel they give great care to my 2 cats (fur babies). :) I find them to be friendly, professional and as accommodating as possible. Their wellness visit special has been a great bargain for peace of mind and checkups. When the cats needed teeth cleaning they let me know when there was an upcoming clinic because it would be at a reduced cost. However, I was most impressed when I called after hours about getting an appointment the next day because something seemed wrong with one of my cats. They called me the next day, a Saturday, before they even officially opened and I was able to bring her in immediately and since I had a wellness visit scheduled for that upcoming Monday, Dr Belvedere gave my cat the wellness exam at the same time so I wouldnt have to stress her out by bringing her again so quickly. Thank you for all you do.

If I could give a 10 star I would... Dr. Cannan is AWESOME! Ive known her for many, many years and she has always been, not only professional, but has a HUGE heart when it comes to animals. Her love for animals is obvious! Always aims to please too! Most all dogs are afraid when they walk in a pet clinic/office, however as soon as they see her, she is so welcoming and loving to them that they feel comfortable. As for the post regarding giving $20.00 for a recommendation; all businesses should do such a nice thing to show their appreciation ~Nothing wrong with that! I have been recommending her for years with NO compensation what-so-ever! To me, the best compensation is getting the best care possible for my fur babies and that is what she provides. You cannot put a price on that! Keep up the good work Dr. Cannan! We love you!

Dr. Cannan has been my vet since about 1998. She is one of the most caring and compassionate vets I have ever met. Dr Cannan has celebrated with me through all the good times (adopting new pets) and has helped me get through the not so good times,(having to make THAT decision). She is so patient and never rushes through an appointment until she has dealt with every question or concern I may have. The staff is always so helpful and pleasant. DCAH is the only place I would take any of my animals. They are wonderful and I cant say enough good things about them.

A very good friend of mine recommend we contact DCAH for boarding our pitbull. We went for initial appt and the staff was GREAT. My dog is very leery of strangers and untrusting. This puts most people off and even her current vet is quick to put a muzzle on her out of fear. No muzzle required at DCAH. They took their time and clearly know how to interact with the breed. I have no reservations boarding my dog there next month and I will recommend them to all that I know.

Though I am not a regular at Dutchess county Animal Hospital, due to distance, I took my 6 year old dog there for a dental cleaning, as it has a good reputation and specifically makes dental cleanings affordable so you can keep up with your animals preventative health care. The staff was very friendly, and they did an excellent job with my dog! I will return for our next dental cleaning and if I lived closer they would be my regular vet for sure!

I was new to this practice and had no issues getting an appointment. The front desk staff was very accommodating and professional. The vet techs and doctors listened to my concerns and answered with care. The entire staff was a delight with my gentle giant, Great Dane pup, Nyssa! I am happy I chose this vet and would recommend to anyone and everyone to do same!

I love love love Dr Canaan. I cant leave my fur-kids in anyone elses hands! She loves all of the ones Ive adopted over the years, and has helped me keep them so healthy and happy. Her staff are also great people and "accidents" are not a big thing to them. Location is meh, but I know that my furs are in great and capable hands

Went there with my puppy Chloe for the first time and all the staff were very polite and answered all the question I had.. Even at the end when my puppy peed on the floor they didnt get upset... I would recommended this to any one that is looking for a vet that u can afford.. Thank you guys for everything

The staff at this hospital is wonderful! My 2 dogs have been under the care of Dr Cannan since they were spayed to adulthood about 8 years now and the care they have received is informative,intelligent and they do this with genuine heart for my two best friends.
