Our cat Juliet is 18 years old. We have been using Dr. Fred for about 16 years, and have had no serious complaints until our last visit. It was then that I learned that his way of handling uncooperative animals all of these years was poor. Juliet was very lethargic. We brought her in for an exam, and Dr. Fred informed us that she is going through kidney failure and a hydration was necessary. As usual I was elected to hold Juliet while he injected the fluids. He did not supply protective gloves, nor a blanket or towel to wrap her in, as I have found that this is a good way of holding a squirming cat. She ended up being terrified, shook her muzzle loose, and bit me on the finger. I was bleeding quite a bit in the office. I went to the Urgi Care center. They put me on an anti biotic, but to make a long story short, I ended up in the hospital for 3 1/2 days, and needed surgery to bring the infection down. I am still after 3 weeks of this still under a Dr. care, hopefully stitches will be removed today. My complaints are as follows. 1- As I mentioned, his way of handling an uncooperative pet is unsatisfactory. 2- After all of the commotion of the hydration and the bite, he told us we must do this at home. He never took the time to show us the proper way of inserting the needle. We thought that by watching him we knew how to do this.We ended up hurting her when we tried .I guess we should have asked him to show us properly, but my wife and I got the impression that at that time to he wanted us to leave. When we called another Vet, we took her there for a hydration. We had them do a complete workup on her. They even allowed one of their technicians ( for a small fee decided upon by me) to come to the house and hydrate her. At this point I feel we could have done it because as I have learned it was no big deal, but my wife was so upset that we had hurt her the time we tried she did not want to try again. Now we bring Juliet to the new Vet. They encourage us to bring Juliet to them anytime she needs hydration. They handle her completely, and expertly, free of charge. 3- It was at the new vet that we learned that there is a cat feed with a special formula with cats having kidney failure. Dr. Fred never mentioned this to us. Either he didnt know about it, or it slipped his mind. Either explanation is unacceptable. Our cat is doing much better now thanks to the new Vet, and we will never see Dr. Fred again.

Let me share my experience with Doctor Fred, my daughter was diagnosed with lupus, and could not work, and her Yorkshire terrier was sick, she could not afford to take the dog to a vet, so a friend said try doctor Fred he look at the dog and said the dog has Cushing disease and a blood test would cost us more money and from his expertise he could tell it was Cushing disease, my wife told him do the blood test we will pay for it, we began to treat the dog with medicine for Cushing Disease and a month later returned the dog to our daughter,. The dog had to take a pill a day for life per Dr. Fred, my daughter noticed the dog not feeling well again and took him to a vet she knew and told the vet the dog was seen by Dr. Fred, so the new Vet asked Dr. Fred to fax over the blood results, at this time my Yorker was sick and not feeling well so I made a appointment, I waited a hour and I was called in to the exam room, Dr. Fred started to berate me and was asking questions why my daughter went to different Vet I told him the above information he was nasty and arrogant and very unprofessional he also stated he would not see my Yorker I told him the dog was sick and he didn’t care thank god he didn’t touch my dog, my daughters dog didn’t have Cushing Disease only a skin infection five days it was cleared up but we have been treating him for months with the wrong medicine two vets I have spoken with say that Dr. Fred actions are bizarre I believe that Dr. Fred charge me for the blood work drew blood from the dog and never did the blood test only reason why he would be upset, oh yes you will pay less and maybe he will do the test or pocket the money and say he did the test, but if you love your dog like I do you won’t use this Which doctor he may be good at eating dogs, and he might have a license in some third world county but he is no doctor.
