This is veterinary care the way its supposed to be. Dr. Hines and his staff are truly caring and compassionate about the care of your companion pet. Time is not a factor in your appointment- however much or little time is needed is whats taken. Every question is answered, no matter how many you have. Dr. Hines listens to you and actually hears and understands your concerns- its like your veterinarian is a family member. Options and choices are presented and youll have the knowledge you need to make the decision that YOU feel is best for your pet. There is never any judgement about whatever decision you make regarding your pets care. There is no "selling" of tests and procedures. The fees are incredibly reasonable. Youll find Dr. Hines calling you even after normal business hours to give you test results or check on how your pet is doing. The staff is as outstanding as Dr. Hines. Theyre very knowledgeable and just as caring, compassionate and friendly as he is. Theyve seen it all and will do everything they can to make your visit as comfortable for you and your pet as possible. These are just some of the reasons that I recommend Two Rivers AH to anyone looking for a professional and compassionate veterinary service.

I have a beautiful male boxer, picked him up at 8 weeks. For the first 3 years of his life we had many ups and downs due to his diet and sensitive stomach. In 2015 he became very ill. I spent 1000s of dollars in Bergen County NJ at a vet that continually ordered blood work and tests. My poor guy continued to have diarrhea with bleeding, loss of appetite and weight loss. Finally a friend told me to go see Dr. Hines at Two Rivers. It was the best day for my Boxer and I!!!!! The staff and Dr. Hines are very kind and welcoming. Dr.Hines knew immediately that the dog was eating the wrong foods, over and over!!!! He asked me to try something called Purina DCO, I went straight to Redbank Animal Hospital picked it up and fed my boy. Within 12 hours my dog was better. Formed stool finally after 3+ years. Dr. Hines explained that if the dog is having a formed bowel movement, then they are getting the nutrients out of the food. I continue to travel 45 min-1 hr to see Dr.Hines. I would have it no other way. I am forever thankful. Lastly, the fees are extremely reasonable. Good Luck!!

As someone who followed Dr. Heins from Red Bank Veterinary Hospital to his practice at Two Rivers Animal Hospital, I can say with certainty that this man is the best veterinarian Ive ever encountered. He carefully explains all treatment options available, never pushes unnecessary treatments, and provides the highest standard of care for his patients. Ive never once felt rushed, or that any question I had was unimportant, and his genuine concern for the well-being of my dogs has always been obvious and very appreciated. When I moved to Edison from Monmouth County, I tried a local veterinarian and there was just no comparison, so I went right back to Fair Haven and Two Rivers Animal Hospital, despite the 45-minute ride. After more than 20 years of knowing Dr. Heins, there is no one I trust more to care for my pets.

Dr. Heinz is an incredible doctor to my little fur baby. Ive called him at all hours and have always gotten a call back by the same day with suggestions or a invite to come in. He has made me feel more comfortable when something is wrong, and tells me exactly how to handle and fix it. His office is cozy and even though my dog gets nervous going in, I know shes safe there and I fully trust the whole team at Two Rivers. I have gone to other places with I couldnt be seen or it was on a Sunday and no place compares to here. Not even close. Everyone else just does anything and everything extra - thats not needed and Dr. Heinz tells you the honest truth and doesnt try and fill your dog up with unneeded medication or shots - which I appreciate. Its a wonderful place to bring your animals!

I started using Dr. Heins, Two Rivers Animal Hospital, when we were misplaced after Storm Sandy. I have never gone back to my previous vet. I had 3 dogs over these last 4, almost 5 years. Dr. Heins is one of the most knowledgeable Veterinarians I have ever been to! He is compassionate and kind and loves animals. When my Cattle Dog, Chance, was ready to cross over Rainbow Bridge, Dr. Heins made a house call for me as I could not get Chance to the hospital. His kind words during the entire process, made me feel at ease. He made me feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. The same was true, when my Dalmatian, Tonka had to cross over. The staff is AWESOME too. Always greet you with a smile and love on your animals when they can.

Dr. Heins is an amazing veterinarian. He is always kind and caring, takes the time to make certain that you understand everything before you leave, and treats our fur babies with TLC. He interacts with Mikey and Callie as if they are his best buddies, and its easy to see that he loves what he does, which makes all the difference. In addition, Vet Tech, Mike is always so helpful and kind to us, and to our babies. I cant put into words how much it means to be able to have our babies in the care of someone who cares so much, is so knowledgable, and who makes you feel like you are welcome each and every time you call or visit. If you are local and looking for a vet, look no further. Two Rivers Animal Hospital is where you want to be!

We are very fortunate to have Dr. Heins as our vet. We have been clients for over 10 years and we were so happy when Dr. Heins opened his own practice, where he gives everyone individualized, personal attention. Its a bit of a drive for us to get to the office, but its well worth every one of the 35 minutes in the car. Dr. Heins has helped us find solutions to make our Lab (who had two TPLO surgeries in the past) comfortable; not to mention he is extremely patient with our rescue dog that has severe anxiety issues. Shes gotten much better, thanks to Dr. Heins and all his staff. (plus she loves the techs, especially Megan and Renee). Thanks for all you do. I know its not an easy job!

I wish "human doctors" were as wonderful as are the veterinarians at Two Rivers Animal Hospital. Both Dr. Heins and Dr. Hinchcliffe treat their furry patients (and their owners) with skill and compassion. I began taking my babies to them about two years ago. Last year, when one of our older English cockers developed cancer and had to be euthanized, I was treated with care and support, as I had to let my sweet girl to cross the "rainbow bridge." Perhaps the best compliment I can give this amazing team is that none of my dogs has ever been upset about going to see them. Instead, they greet both vets with wagging tails and sloppy kisses.

Dr. Heins and the staff at Two River Animal Hospital are incredibly caring. Our two cats and our beloved dog all have their annual check ups and have been treated for a variety of illnesses. As our dog began to develop a variety of older dog issues including diabetes vet visits were frequent. Dr. Heins called to check up on him and would make time for him to come in with little notice. I believe that navigating those two months and making sure we were doing what was best for the dog would not have been possible without Two River Animal Hospital. Dr. Heins helped us make the best choices for our dog every step of the way.
