Please dont ignore this review! This hospital is a scam and they only care about the money and not their patients! My family had to put our dog down a few days ago. Our dog was a patient at Banfield and we were on their pet wellness plan. A few weeks ago, our dog went in for dental work at Banfield and when he came home later that day, we noticed huge lumps in his throat. We called Banfield and they said they didnt notice anything in his throat (sounds very suspicious). So we took our dog to another hospital where they told us that the lumps were more likely cancerous. A few weeks later, we found out our dog had lymphoma and his health rapidly declined and the disease got the best of him. We called up Banfield to cancel the plan the next day after he passed and they told us that even though our dog is DEAD, we have to continue to pay the monthly fee for 11 months, or we owe them $400 to cancel now!!! As if our family hasnt gone through enough trauma with the passing of our beloved pet. This hospital has no empathy for their patients! Obviously a dead dog doesnt justify cancelling the wellness plan. SHAME ON THIS HOSPITAL! Please pass the word on! I dont wish this to happen to any other family! Now we are suffering all because Banfield cares more about money! Do not ever go to this hospital, even if you do not get on the plan!

Worst experience ever with Banfield located at 3010 Brandywine Pkwy in Wilmington, Delaware. This veterinarian hospital rotates vets as if they were just a residency program. Our latest experience with one of the vets is that when I identified a lipoma on the body of my dog he said the best thing to do was to extract a culture and make sure it was not malignant. When i asked how long the results would take he said no more than 72 hours. I never received a phone call from the vet. When i called back two weeks later i spoke to a different vet that was very pleasant to speak with who obtained my pets results. I told her i never wanted my dog to see the other vet. Two weeks later my dog was in for his annual check-up and he ended up seeing the first vet and the other vet had already left the practice. Unbelievable!!!!!!!! In addition, made several complaints to corporate via the phone and email and no one ever reached back to me or would allow me to cancel my plan. Seven years with this practice and now we are completely done.

I took my dog Stella to the vet due to her ingesting a piece of plastic from a flosser she gotten a hold of! So they kept Stella for 4 or 5 hours and they said only 2 hours and did x-rays and blood work an thorough check up and injected her with fluids! I than went to pick up Stella and to my dismay they would not work with us on a payment plan and instead they wanted 8 or 900 dollars up front they said they like to take care of all there tickets and paid in full before the day is over with! I told them well i dont have that kind of money and Im on a fixed income and i can make 10 dollars a month payment arrangements starting on the 1st when i get paid they wouldnt accept it and tried to hold my dog to get the payment and i gotten upset and said a few choice words and they gave her back and i said some other few choice words and walked out! Terrible terrible place for pet care they only care about money not your pet!

Over the past few months, my wife and I tried to pay our bill several times. We tried online, in person, and by phone. In each case, we could not reach anyone. When I finally got someone on the phone I was told that both of our dogs accounts were in good standing. When I brought my dog in to be treated for an ear infection and stomach issue, I was told both of my dogs accounts were delinquent, even though there were two charges to my account from Banfield within the last month. Also during that appointment, the veterinarian told me that my dog did not have any clear issues AFTER I was charged and paid for stomach medication. I have brought my dogs to Banfield for 5+ years with little issue. These past few months have me looking for a new veterinarian.

Someone who I used to date put her cats health plan in my name, and they allowed her to set it up without my authority or even knowing about it. She defaulted on the final payment and now Ive got someone calling me everyday saying I owed them $$$$. Then once I explained to them what had occurred they stopped calling and sent it to a collections agency who are now harassing me daily. For such a big business I would expect more professionalism. I would never recommend this place to any friends or family, nor will I ever shop at Pet Smart again for harboring such a horrible business.

I really dont understand why Banfield has such a horrible rating. I have been taking my pet to Banfield for years. They are the only hospital I trust with my dog. They are understanding, dedicated and show my dog much love. I will only take my pet to Banfield due to the care that my dog and my family has experienced while in the care of Banfield!

We take both our puppies there and have had amazing caring experiences each time. Puppies are well cared for and never fearful of walking into the office! We love our vet team!
