Let me start off by saying that I have three dogs, a Maltese, Shih-tzu and Shih-tzu/Bischon that are all coming up on 12years of age, they are my kids and Ive spent nearly every bit of 24/7 of my life with them. They are beyond important to me. Unfortunately life span and milage takes its toll and everyone who isnt rich WILL need a good, affordable vet that they can trust and rely on when something occurs with your pet. Carbondale Vet Clinic is that place for you. My 12 yo Maltese Princess had 26 teeth removed, I dropped her off and picked her up same day and my girl was drinking water and hungry to eat less than an hour of being home. Thank god I had them to help me for a price that was easily $1,000+ less than the other local vet Citywide(they are a cash machine and could care less about your animal and affordability). My bill was just under $400 and my girl is doing much better from the terrible discomfort and infection that was occurring in her mouth, if not for their concern about the animal and not getting rich I would of had to save and save in taking me well over a year or more to get the $2k it would cost at my alternative vet, all while my poor baby suffered in pain every day. If not for a place like this many dogs would suffer almost indefinitely for families that just couldnt afford a giant bill. So whether its a major or minor thing that you feel your pet needs to get checked, I absolutely recommend taking your animal here, its compassion before cost. JD

I took my cats here to get neutered. One was fine, the other came home bleeding and covered in blood/urine, so I took him back and they monitored him over night. They said he was fine and sent him home the next day with his fur all matted with blood and urine, and I dont mean just near his genitals and incision sight, the whole lower end of his body is matted fur, he smells terrible and I cannot believe how swollen, his testicles are after the butcher job they did to him. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They did not even offer after care information just a sheet that said If you see blood, or this this or this then seek emergency care. If it wasnt for the fact I had to bring the cat back the minute we got home, I never would have even met the doctor, only the receptionist spoke to me and did not provide much information regarding the procedure or after care. When I finally did get to talk to the doctor, I asked her several (what I later found out are pretty common) questions of which her answer was "I dont know". Isnt it your job to know? I learned more by googling the subject than by talking to the doctor. DO NOT GO HERE. NO compassion, very unprofessional, I would compare it to a mcdonalds drive thru. Sure the prices are low, but you get what you pay for, trust me.

Dont waste your money! Ive been bringing my animals to this clinic since I was a kid but they are not what they used to be. The prices have gone up and they have no idea what theyre doing. This past year I brought both dogs in for their annual shots. I sat in a room for 25 minutes before the vet came in and spent 5 minutes looking at both dogs. They charge me $100 for both dogs just for their visit and the shots which came to over $250. Recently I wanted to get a brace for my older dog so I brought him in for x-rays. They charge me $125 for the x-rays and wrote a bunch of numbers on a piece of paper. When I called the company for the brave I was told the numbers are wrong! I called the clinic back and was told that I have to drive back over and bring the dog back between the hours of 2 and 5 p.m.! When I originally called about the brace they led me to believe I needed the X-ray however the company that sells the brace gave me instructions to do the measurements myself! Dont waste your money you will sit in an office for a very long time pay alot of money and get very poor service.

I have brought my pets to Carbondale Vet. Clinic for the past few years. Ive always found them to be very caring and my latest experience just reinforces my feelings. My dog had ripped one of his nails. He was bleeding, shaking and in pain. Since they were only open from 9:30 AM to 12 today (Sat) I was afraid they wouldnt have an opening to see him.Due to that, I called a different Vet service that was open from 8AM to 2 PM- I explained that this was somewhat of an emergency but I was informed that they only take emergencies of their former clients on a Sat- no new pets. I decided to wait til 9:30 when CVC would open. As soon as they opened, I called and almost before Id finished explaining the problem they agreed to see him- didnt ask if they had ever seen him before- they were just concerned about him. We got there as soon as I could and they took him right in. Less than 10 minutes later he was out of pain and his nail was clipped. They only charged me as though Id come in to have his nails cut. I recommend this service to everyone.

Our dog, Jada, got sick from eating something that "blocked" her up. She has done it twice before in the past resulting in visits to a local emergency clinic in the Abingtons that ended up costing me over $1200 each visit. Today, we went to the Carbondale Vet Hospital for the first time. A friend told us to go there. The people were more polite, the place was better organized with less waiting and the cost was 1/4 what the other place charged. The other place was my only choice as , unfortunately, the prior two episodes occurred on Easter Sunday of 2015 and Thanksgiving of 2015 and there was no where else open. The people at Carbondale Vet Hospital did only what needed done. No extra testing or multiple X-Rays. They did not charge me for prescriptions that were not necessary post procedure as the treatment was simply an enema. The other place charged me Hundreds in prescriptions. The people at CVH were kind, professional and efficient. Highly Recommended.

Very disappointing service, used to be great. Whoever is working the front desk is extremely rude and treated me like an idiot for asking questions about how to care for my kitten after surgery. I didnt get to talk to any vet about the operation. When I asked how long recovery would take the woman at the front desk simply said anywhere from 5 days to 21 days. So thats very useful. Id avoid going here in the future, there has to be a vet with better bedside manner than I received. I called frustrated when I arrived home and realized I had to remove the cone to remove a harness they put back on my kitten and got told its all common sense and the woman doesnt understand why Im having any confusion. If you want to be treated nicely avoid this place. It makes me worried about how my kitten was treated on the operating table.
