Our two-year old cat, Blade, became very sick and had an extremely high fever (106-107). The doctor did everything expected—gave him something to bring the fever down and an antibiotic. He mentioned Bobcat Fever (tick-borne) but didn’t offer to do a blood test; he wasn’t too concerned so we weren’t either. The fever came back the next day and his body began shutting down. Once again, the doctor brought down the fever and gave him a new antibiotic—he still didn’t seem too concerned and sent us home to ‘wait and see’. Blade died a day later. Maybe no one could have saved Blade but I wish the doctor had shown more concern, offered to do more aggressive treatments early on, and warned us about what our little kitty was in for. From all the research we did, I’m sure Blade had Bobcat Fever; the description of what cats go through as they die matches the horrific death Blade experienced—high fever, extreme pain, inability to walk, and convulsions. Blades screams of pain will stay with me forever and it rips my heart out. Bobcat Fever is viral with 90-95% mortality rate; it’s a horrible way for a cat to die. I realized the doctor has no emotional attachment to my cats, but showing more concern, offering advanced treatment options, and offering pain medication so Blade wouldn’t have suffered so much would have been nice. Maybe this vet cares more about dogs.

Dr. Rye is wonderful to my cat! He can be matter-of-fact when dealing with serious issues, but I think he just doesnt want to sugar-coat the real situation. Dr. Rye recommended a new food for my cat who has allergies - trying to pick the most cost-effective solution before full on allergy testing. My cat has been great since. I totally trust him with boarding cats too... they let the cats out and give them human stimulation throughout the day so that your pet is not just stuck in a cage the whole time. Excellent facility and staff!

After doing some research, I found the best reviews on Dr. Ryes practice. Dr. Rye was aware of the cost involved, and he discussed them with me before doing tests(which was very nice) and he treated the situation like he would for his own puppy. By the end of the day there was bad news for the puppy, but Dr Rye had multiple options, and we found one that works best for me and Jack. I will be returning to this clinic for all future animal needs. Thank you Dr. Rye!

Ive had a hard time finding a vet since I moved 2 years ago but now I think I found one. I would take my dog someplace only to end up driving over an hour back to his old vet. Dr. Rye was very informative and seemed to genuinely care. I didnt feel rushed or pressured. The staff seemed very nice as well. Looking forward to shorter drives and the same quality of care. We just moved to the area & my beloved Lab got sick. What a WONDERFUL office to stumble upon. Ive had terrible vets & okay vets, but Dr. Rye is amazing. He spent an extra amount of time with us, & really made it seem like he genuinely cared about my dog. Will absolutely bring my dog back, as well as my other dog and cat.

Dr. Rye has taken excellent care of all 4 of our cats. He is a thoughtful, compassionate, and knowledgeable vet. When one of our beloved cats passed away, he did everything he could, blood work, daily infusions of saline, seeing us promptly whenever we called. We recommend and trust him completely.

I cant imagine that the previous reviwer actually met Dr. Rye! By far is he the most compassionate vet Ive ever been to. He has never talked over my head when discussion options for treatment for my 3 dogs and more importantly treats my babies like his own dogs.
