The worst vet experience of our lives. My husband and I took our 8 month lab in because we thought she may have an obstruction as she was vomiting one day and would not stop. We went two times before that and they did xrays (totally skipped typical diagnostic tests like blood work and a fecal exam) which showed nothing as she had not been eating very much for a few days leading up to the vomiting. The day we took her in she had vomited up 5 inch bone but she kept on vomiting so I started worrying she may have had something else in there or maybe was getting dehydrated. We did not take her to the regular vet because it was 10pm at night. Again, they did not run normal diagnostic tests (we had to force them to do a fecal but still not sure they did as it was not on our bill). Then they said that she might have an obstruction due to her xray in comparison to the xray and we needed to come back in for an ultrasound the next morning at 8am. We came back and to make a long story short the ultrasound technician was not even there and we got talked into surgery by Dr. Wood (she is very new there, so new her certification was not even on the wall) based on a statistic given to us that she was 90% sure that she had something in her stomach and we should not wait. So, we were scared and exhausted (even though my husband wanted to wait for the ultrasound technician but he would not be there until 1pm and Dr. Wood seemed so sure about her diagnosis) so we agreed to the surgery. They found nothing but swollen lymph nodes and a swollen small intestine so they started trying to validate/justify their misdiagnosis of the surgery by scaring us into thinking she had other things wrong with her like lymphoma, IBS, or severe food allergies. Her biopsies came back clear so I called the director of the center in Atlanta (it is a chain) and he said his team did nothing wrong and that he basically did not care. We were out a total of 2800 dollars because they did not run the basic first line tests (like bloodwork, fecal, and an ultrasound) before rushing her into surgery. Now I have a 8 month year old puppy with a HUGE incision wound/scar from her chest to pelvis for NO REASON and I might as well have thrown 2800 down the toilet. They also never called the days after the surgery to see how she was doing. They did call to justify their surgery and scare us to death about puppy lymphoma (which is so rare I could not find one vet who knew a dog that had it, it IS possible but VERY VERY rar). Needless to say we would never set foot back in this office. They already had one surgeon lose their license in the past for performing unnecessary surgeries so my feeling is they do not do good background checks their vets before hiring them (our technician was a student, lol) and they just hire vets who are good "sales people" that want to scare you into surgeries or drastic measures before basic tests are performed. They are also about triple the cost of another typical emergency clinic. I would say make sure you know the closest emergency clinic to you that is NOT them (they have four locations in Nashville as they are a national chain). so you have a game plan to avoid having to use them. I wish somebody had told me. They are only money driven and have TERRIBLE diagnostic skills. Oh, and one more note, our second opinions following up with my dogs care show she has neither IBS or food allergies. We feel so scammed.

Took my dog to this vet because it was Sunday and we didnt feel like our dog was getting better after vomiting earlier in the week. She had become increasingly lethargic and wouldnt eat. We paid a very high price for them to check her vitals and the vet to put one hand on her and touch her back one time. That was the extent of the exam. Our dog did turn to nip at the vet but it was because the vet never took the time to let our dog get used to her before having me hold the front of her body so our dog couldnt see that the vet was going to touch her and got startled. Shes also a nervous dog to begin with but Ive never seen a vet so nervous about a nip from a 6 lb dog. She then said if we wanted to proceed with the exam she would have to take her back and muzzle her and that she recommended X-rays to examine her bones. I asked why we would need to look at her bones or for a slipped disc when she had been lethargic and not eating since she vomited. She said it was because she tried to bite her when she touched her back. Even though we had held our dog/ picked her up and there were never any signs of pain. I asked if we could check for something going on in her GI tract and she informed that if it were something like pancreatitis she wouldnt have stopped vomiting. She was so insistent on bone pain and treating her with pain meds and non compassionate that I did not feel comfortable sending our family member back with her to be muzzled and have tests run that I felt had nothing to do with the issue on hand. I took her to her regular vet, Maury County Vet Hospital, when they opened and she was treated with the love and compassion that was missing at this emergency clinic. A THOROUGH exam was performed on her after they held her and talked to her and made her comfortable and they went straight to a X-ray and ultrasound on her abdomen and sure enough there was a blockage. If anyone is looking for a top notch vet visit the Maury County Vet Hospital. DONT waste your time with this clinic even if you have to wait to bring your loved one in, it will just waste your time and money.

My three year old healthy mini schnauzer was sick last week. Wouldnt come out of his crate. Took him on Tuesday to my local vet All Pets Health in Spring Hill, TN b/c he was definitely not himself. I was told his platelet count was around 78,000 which was a little low considering normal ranges are around 200,000. They prescribed Prednisone, a muscle relaxer and a pain med b/c they also said he had back pain. Two days on the meds, my pup wouldnt eat. They ran tests again on him on Friday and saw his platelet count had increased 10,000. Saturday he still wasnt eating so we made him some fresh chicken and rice. He did eat some chicken but threw it up multiple times during the evening and had bloody stool. On Sunday morning, he was again not wanting to get up and I had to drag him out of the crate to go to the bathroom. He still wouldnt eat and still had bloody stool. I decided to take him to Blue Pearl. They immediately put him on fluids and an antibiotic. At this point, I still had no idea what was wrong with my dog. Were these side effects from the medication or was it a fluke that we stumbled upon his low platelets from running blood work? They called their internal medicine vet and he basically told us we had to spend up to $3,000 to run more test to establish what was wrong with our pet. Meanwhile he was declining. Two days later, $2,000 later, basically Blue Pearl told me that I should put down my 3 year old puppy who had never had any health issues. Very disturbed and upset I spoke with my father who mentioned I should contact his vet. I did that immediately and was told to transfer my pup over to Dr. Fly at the Nolensville Animal Hospital in Nolensville, TN. I did that and 2 days later and only $700, my pup is eating again, blood work is gradually increasing back to normal levels and he is feeling more like his old self again. Please, please take my advice and seek second opinions b/c it felt like if you didnt have thousands of dollars to throw at Blue Pearl, then there recommendation is just to put your loved one down.
