Went to Dr. Stone after reading nothing but great reviews. Maybe my expectations were too high and that is why I was so disappointed, but I didnt have the greatest experience. Dr. Stone didnt introduce himself when he walked in; just walked in and started talking. Our exam room door was open, and so was the one directly across from ours, where another customer was waiting. Dr. Stone talked to both me and the customer across the hall at the same time through out the entire exam, and I was often confused as to who he was speaking to. I dont feel he paid enough time or attention to what was going on with my dog. His appearance was a little unprofessional as well; dirty clothes and fingernails were black with dirt. He offered me 2 meds. One was for something he couldnt even tell me my dog had. I asked him if giving my dog all the meds would be harmful if they werent what my dog really needed (since there are some pet meds out there that can cause damage to the liver/kidneys, and my dog was extremely small and young). Then he told me he wouldnt give me the meds since I was being hesitant. I asked him what his professional opinion was, and he said he couldnt say; that it was up to me whether or not to take the meds he offered. Maybe he was having an "off" day, but I just dont feel we got the best service.

I have been using Dr. Stone as our vet for many years. He is the best vet I have ever used....we live out of town part of the year, and believe me...from any location is worth the drive. I had a wonderful dog that was diagnosed with a mass on his brain...I was not convince and drove over 300 miles to have Dr. Stone diagnose him. Dr. Stone was able to put my fears at ease that the dog was going to have severe problems and indeed needed to be euthanized if not that day in the next month.... He was much more informative and even contacted another vet to advise what he had..and the other vet concurred with dr. stone. He also tried to show me the xrays...that he used to diagnose.... the other vets had not even done that...just bluntly said we think he has a mass. Depending on how his day goes Dr. Stone can be gruff...however you will always get the right diagnosis...I hated to lose my dog, but I also know without a doubt he had not lost his life as a guess. I have had over five dogs and ten cats..and everyone of them have started off with him, and ended with him. He has an extremely good sense of humor, and a very good heart..tho sometimes he tries to hide both..

Dr. Stone has been my familys vet for over a decade, and there is a reason. Dr. Stone and his staff care deeply about the welfare of each animal that comes through their doors. I highly recommend him to anyone in the area looking for a no-frills, down to earth, loving and caring veterinary facility. Now, he can be a bit out of the ordinary, meaning that he typically leaves the exam room doors open during your consultation (which can sometimes be distracting, but all you have to do is...CLOSE THE DOOR). He also has a habit of rushing over details, and can even be very blunt. Be prepared for him to "tell it like it is" and not just tell you that everything will be all sunshine and rainbows. But the reason so many familys take their animals to him is for that reason. He does not sell you medication and tests your pet does not need (and frankly, we cant afford them if theyre not necessary). He doesnt sugar coat things when it comes to your pets health. Hes always been very upfront and to the point, when it came to our animals (3 dogs and 2 cats). I wouldnt dream of taking our pets anywhere else,

We have taken our four hair children to Dr. Stone since 2000. In 2005 we moved to NC for 5 years and made the trip back to see Dr. Stone once a year so he would continue to care for our little pack. When we returned to FL, we went back to him without hesitation and have continued to do so ever since. He does not have a fancy office or the best bed side manner, some days he can be a little short tempered. He tells you the truth and gives you time to deal with it, with options and facts. He and his staff are wonderful, attentive and caring. Their main concerns are always the animals. He has been with us through their first breath and last. He is not a warm and fuzzy man, he does not make promises he cant keep, or take your money while filling you with false hopes. He is honest, dedicated and kind to the animals we call family. He and his staff are the BEST! He will be missed the day he decides to retire. Thank you Dr. Stone, for all that you do and have done for us. Dont know what we would have done without you and your staff these many, many, years.

Best Vet around. Dr. Stone saved my dogs life. My american bulldog had a heat stroke and I could not afford the required hospitalization. Dr. Stone not only worked with my financial situation, he also saved my dogs life. He came up with a plan to treat my pet over the course of 3 days. I would bring my dog once in the AM, Afternoon, and right before he closed for IV treatments. Each IV treatment would take approximately 1-1.5 hours. I am sure this was a HUGE inconvenience for him and his staff. But it didnt matter. My dog was most important. 4 years later my dog and I still Thank DR. Stone. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Last Friday my poor baby girl had to have emergency surgery due to Pyometra... an infection in her uterus (which btw could have been avoided if I would have spayed her as I shouldve). It was scary because I really didnt think it was anything seriously wrong with her. Dr. Stone and his staff worked diligently and stayed 4 hrs past closing time to save my babys life... Thats dedication and love... They are #1 and 5 stars is not enough!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

Today I had a horrible experience with Dr.Stone over the phone. He was very rude and one of his assistants was also rude. I have only been there once before. I went about six months ago. I took my hamster there she was very ill. I don’t feel like he did everything he could to save her. He looked very unhygienic and he didn’t even wear gloves. I don’t recommend you go there.
