Horrible!!! I took my 6 month old cockatiel to Mr.Hardy with breathing difficulties. He did a physical exam on my bird which I had consented for. He did a stool test without telling me the cost and I said ok because I thought it was part of the visit. I wish he did a blood test instead. Anyway, he tells me that blood test and X-ray will be needed as he had no idea what it could be and tells me that blood test and X-ray with anesthesia alone will cost close to $500. He charged me $62 for the visit which is reasonable for an office visit but the visit to him was useless. He wrote bunch of numbers as prices from top of his head on a piece of paper and wouldnt give it to me to take it with me. Then he said he has no idea how much the treatment will be. It was my very first time seeing a veterinarian as this cockatiel is my first pet. He scared me off with the pricing and I didnt like the way he explained everything to me and that he did a stool test first for a bird with breathing difficulties. So I came home with my bird and did some searching online and found an incredible Avian veterinarian, Dr.Harris on South Dixie Hwy. I drove more than an hour to see Dr.Harris. Within a few minutes of checking the bird he told me that the Bird could be having pneumonia and did some diagnostic test which confirmed it. He gave us some antibiotic for the bird to give 2x a day for 2 weeks. All for the cost of $280. Dr.Harris didnt even need to do all the diagnostic tests at once to see whats wrong with my bird and he told me ahead of time that the antibiotics will cost around $20. I left Dr.Harriss office in 40 minutes with a diagnosis and meds for my bird. Please dont take your sick pet birds to Mr.Hardy as it looks like he doesnt have much experience with birds.

I think the person who wrote horrible review could not have been reviewing Dr. Hardy at Ives dairy animal clinic. Dr. Hardy & his excellent staff SAVED my sweet shihtzu & helped me save my sanity after a horrible experience with ER vet. I was referred to Dr. Hardy by my groomer Connie she is the owner of Hallendale pet Salon and the greatest groomer..I called her asking for Vet reference After ER vet showed no compassion and told me my dog 24-36 hours to live and the ultimatum of giving them a 3,000 down payment for emergency surgery that could climb to 5,000, needless to say I was devastated and at a loss of what to do really not having that insane amount of money. I called Dr. Hardy office and they saw my pup right away. I was able to relax some realizing this vet has great concern and respect for life of animals, and is NOT all about money. his fee was reasonable and he and his team are 5 star and really care for animals. He was easy to talk to and very detailed in explaination and available anytime of the day or night for the first few days after surgery. I highly recommend Dr. Hardy & his staff @ Ives dairy animal clinic for the best in medical care while remaining humane in their approach and pricing..

Dr. Joseph Hardy is extraordinary both as a veterinarian as well as a human being. I have known him for over a decade and I would not go to anyone else. He is honest, very knowledgeable, personable and he always takes his time to describe all the possibilities and circumstances in order to be able to make the best possible choice for both the animal and his/her caretaker. He has saved several of my own and foster cats lives as well as he has saved a pigeon I found on the street with severe damage to her wings. He equally and deeply cares just as much about animals as about their caretakers. He respects all living creatures and beings regardless of species. I recommend him to anyone who would like to get the best medical care for his/her beloved pet. He is really exceptional. I wish there were many more special souls like him in every area of life! And more of, his staff is just as amazing with their compassion and caring attitude. This is the best place you can go!

5 Stars is not nearly enough for this amazing Vet in North Miami Beach. I have been Dr. Hardys client since 2007. His compassion for the animals is unsurpassed by any vet I have ever experienced. He explains everything to the most minute detail, no question is too unimportant. He takes the time to make sure that we understand everything. I have such great confidence in his expertise and experience that I regularly recommend his practice to friends and acquaintances and they call me after spending one appointment with him thanking me for the referral. Not only is Dr. Hardy amazing, but his staff is amazing. I wouldnt take my pets to any other veterinarian.

Dr. Joseph Hardy is the most caring veterinarian I have come across in my many many years of dealing with veterinarians. His compassion shows no bounds and he explains carefully what the problem is and how he will take care of it. If the situation is one that needs the services of a "specialist" he does not hesitate to send you to the appropriate facility/doctor. His compassion for the animals he deals with and the owners who are often filled with anxiety, is above and beyond expectation. Your pet could not find a more caring, competent doctor.

I moved to miami three years ago and my cat Daisy got so sick! I went to this clinic after my new neibghbor recommended Dr. Hardy! And she has been coming to Dr. Hardy for over 8 years for her pets. Dr. Hardy and his stuff were so nice and professional, they took good care of Daisy, Daisy was hospitalized for a week, and still live with me happily. This is the place I recommened to all my friends. yes! They are good people they will treat your pets like theirs and you will be happy that you find a place you can trust!

Great experience! Dr. Hardy is a very kind person with a wide knowledge. Not just about cats and dogs like most places, but also about small animals. He really cares for the animal. He takes the time to explain everything and doesnt rush out of the room in 2 minutes. I called the clinic several times and he was always available to speak on the phone and update me on my hamster. I wish I had found him sooner. I definitely recommend him to anyone with a pet!

Figo had his teeth cleaned and many extractions done by Dr.Hardy. Our pup is 13 years old and so many vet visits, but he never recovered from such a procedures so quickly .Doctor and his staff were incredible! lots of personal attention and love! this is our first time ever writing a review ,but we truly feel that we need to give a credit were its due !thanks a lot !!

We just moved here from PA with our adopted husky and we were extremely worried with seeing a new vet. I am so very pleased with Dr. Hardy and all the employees. They really took such great care of our little baby and cared for her. We will be bringing our cats to see him as well. He really is such a good down to earth doctor!
