My husband took our pup to this vet upon the recommendation of the shelter from which we got him and it was a terrible experience. The vet did not run our dogs stool sample and, when I called to ask about after several weeks, he later left me a message that he "saw no evidence of worms." OUR DOG HAD HOOKWORM, which we ascertained because we took our dog to a REAL vet after this visit was such a waste of time. So he not only didnt run the sample, but he then lied about it so that my family could risk exposure to a contagious condition. This is deeply unethical. I wish I could say that the rest of the visit was ok, but instead of answering our questions, the vet rambled about how he doesnt believe in tick medication, that he doesnt believe in dogfood and that the pet adoption thing is a scam. He did not weigh our dog and was not able to clip his nails. I dont recommend this guy.

We have taken 3 dogs and 2 cats over 10 years to Sugartown. Dr. Prier is always great with the animals and their owners. He always takes time to answer questions and provide information. If pet becomes seriously ill, he will try and help both you and the animal manage the situation, although sometimes the truth is difficult to take. He does put the pets comfort and well being ahead of excessive invasive procedures. However, he will refer you to a specialist if this is the route you want to pursue or you would like a second opinion. (We did this twice with very sick dogs - but unfortunately, the diagnosis was the same as Dr. Priers.) The rest of the staff is wonderful and very caring. I highly recommend this practice.

My response to the Google user that claimed that they killed his dog. Nonsense! Please do some research and reading on both Lyme and kidney disease. Dr. Prior is one of the most knowledgeable vets on Lyme He has treated my dog for Lyme and brought him through a difficult time. When my old vet practice sold out to quacks and money-grubbers I asked local dog experts for references and Dr. Prior was the highest on the list. I cannot recommend him more highly.

A quack who killed my dog - now I know that dogs with Lymes Disease need regular kidney testing, but its his job to know that before my dog is dying. He said it wasnt necessary, and that nothing can be done for kidney failure even if its caught early - total BS. Other area vets agree. This guy is good for nothing but shots, have your pets cared for elsewhere. It may give you the years I was robbed of.

Great vet. We had a wonderful experience when my dog was dying with pancreatitis. He was wonderful with him and explained everything to me about the disease. He was way cheaper than the other emergency vet and more concerned with the animal than with your ability to pay. Dr. Prier was wonderful with our new dog too.

My family has been using them for over 15 years. Called today because my female cat has a bladder infection, severe. Was told she could come in NEXT tuesday... A week away? she would be dead by then. This place has gone down the drain. Done with them.
